I have followed this case from day one and think and pray for her every single day. I hope they find her soon.

The hearing scheduled for Wednesday was continued to Feb. 20 at the same courtroom in San Jose, according to Santa Clara County Superior Court staff. The hearing was continued at the request of the District Attorney’s office, as the prosecutor assigned to the case could not attend court Wednesday due to a family emergency.

A plea hearing for Garcia Torres was also set for April 4.

So.... The hearing scheduled for Wednesday, 2-6 (?)-13.....

Is now set for tomorrow, February 20th...

I hope this case moves forward tomorrow...

He needs to give up her location so her family can have closure. He is going to rot in prison regardless and maybe if he tells where she is, his stay will be a tiny bit less harsh.
 
"motion of a subpoena hearing" he has waived his right to appear. Anyone know if this means they are asking for a hearing regarding the subpoenas they are going send out? I googled it, but it all came up lawyer speak.
I am looking forward to April (hopefully) there will be a plea entered, either by him or let the judge take it upon himself to plea for him (can they do that?).
 
Since he removed all of Sierra's clothing and returned them in the Juicy bag, it is highly unlikely he will tell where she is. He covered all his tracks. There is no clothing to be found; her remains may have been left to nature.

Buying those items we know about beforehand may have been an effort to destroy evidence. He may have had rape in mind and not a particular victim that day. I still have no idea why he would exit on palm for work, as some has suggested. I would like to know where this job is that he had.

From the research I have done, the answer is yes, at some point, which should be soon, the judge can enter a 'not guilty' plea for him, once the judge has determined that the defense team has had plenty of time to get up to speed. I cannot imagine this can go on much longer.

But I also cannot imagine a scenario where this guy will plead guilty and give up the location of Sierra. I think the only way there will be a plea is if she is found and somehow, her body or the scene retained some evidence, something less likely every day. Just a horrible situation for her family.

BBM - It is a chilling thought he was thinking that far ahead. It would appear he researched how to dispose of a body before the abduction or maybe someone in his family shared their own knowledge with him. There is definitely a sexual deviance that runs in his family aka his own father.
 
I cat believe we're getting close to the one year anniversary of Sierra's disappearance and she hasn't been found (and that this sicko hasn't told where she is).

I live thousands of miles away, but think of Sierra often.
 
I firmly believe that AGT saw Sierra standing at the bus stop almost every single day, if he was driving to work or "looking for scrap metal" or whatever else he was up to. She was the only one at the bus stop and I'm sure she stood out - she's gorgeous and all alone waiting for a bus in a rural area. I would bet money that AGT tried talking to her/catcalled her/maybe tried to give her a ride and she blew him off or didn't give the response he wanted or maybe she was straight up rude to him. I think this enraged AGT so he went and bought the bleach/baster and planned on raping. I also wouldn't be surprised if the reason AGT won't give up her body is bc she is with another dead girl/remains that he killed before Sierra. IDK. This case is so sad. I really wish Sierra could be found, I can't believe it's been almost a year. Sierras case was one of the first on WS that I followed and I want justice for her!!!!! :(

That's a good point, there was a big gap between the safeway attacks and Sierra going missing. Very plausible she is not alone.
 
Sierra LaMar Disappearance Anniversary Plans Revealed - March 11, 2013

A press conference, balloon release and fundraiser are all planned for March 16.

The one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Morgan Hill teenager Sierra LaMar is set to arrive next week — on March 16.

To commemorate LaMar's life, the LaMar family will hold a press conference at The Sierra LaMar Search Center at 85 Tilton Rd. in Morgan Hill at 9:00 a.m, followed by a ceremonial balloon release.

Has there been any fb drama from the suspects wife/partner/whatever?? I always wondered why she was so angry about Sierra.

Such a profoundly sad article. I do, however, believe that after AGT wisely plea bargains to avoid death and reveals where Sierra's remains are....Marlene's dreams of Sierra will change. Sierra will be walking through fields of daisies laughing with the sun shining down on her.
