I've followed Susan's case, but only posted on her thread once. I wonder if Susan will ever be found. This case is so sad. I do not think Susan was the victim of a stranger. I do think she is dead unfortunately. I pray she'll be found. I doubt LE will do anything unless she is found.

BBM: Neither do I! :banghead:

Perhaps this family is similar to the one I was born into. They'd rather do nothing than have to face an uncomfortable truth. MMO

I was just thinking about Susan today and it was bittersweet to see her on the first page again. I'm glad people are still thinking about her and wondering about her.

A quick update on those remains in the Sacramento river - they consisted of a Tibia, Fibula, and a foot that has a brown hiking boot on it that's more likely a male sized foot or a fairly large female foot (no offense to anyone, I have big feet myself).

Treelights, you make good points about the distance. Especially since she had ties to Nevada as well. I'm so with you about hating that feeling every time remains are found and wondering "is this her?" I don't like thinking that way, but I can't help it.

I hate that feeling too! I just heard on the news at 5pm, that remains were found about 15 miles from me, but across the state line into NC. My mind went racing on what poor soul was there.

I know odds are slim, but does anyone have anything they'd like me to check out tomorrow (well later today at this point.. Tuesday) in the Roseville/Rocklin/Eastern Sacramento area? I'm physically limited in what I can do in terms of hiking, climbing, etc. but I can drive, look, walk around some, and I'll have a few free hours in the morning and a few more in the afternoon. I'm at a loss on where to even look at this point, so I was hoping this group might have some ideas. I still have a map printed out of more remote ideas from earlier that I wasn't able to check out other than a glance, so I'll check those out if I can. Quite honestly I hope to find nothing, but something is making me want to look again.

I have always been curious on where they say the dogs went and then lost her scent. Do you know where that was? I was thinking across the road. If so, where would that area lead? What would be in that direction? It's sweet of you to do this!

Previously, I found a website that listed the dog handler and a private eye and where they went and the scents the dogs had, but that website is no longer visible so I wonder if the family took issue with what was mentioned about Susan's scent being found there? After all, on Susan's missing Facebook page, it is mentioned about the dog handler and approximately where the dog had Susan's scent markings, yet the Facebook page did not expound on it, like the previously updated page of this dog handler, which the page now seems to have vanished, or it vanished awhile ago.... it mentioned in detail what the dog handler "thinks" what may have happened to Susan at some point. I haven't seen that web page in awhile, so I don't know if it was put back up, or what the deal is about that.
IMOO.

ETA:
I did find that website, but not what was previously written about Susan.
What a MYSTERY about Susan!!
IMOO.

Susan's grandchild is a year old, and Susan has missed a year of her grandchild's life.
So sad!
IMOO.

Haven't been to this thread in awhile so I wanted to check in and see if there was any news on Susan. Was the body in the river ever identified? Susan is somewhere, or parts of her is somewhere. At this point I can't think anything else other than she is deceased. Just wish she would be found and returned to her loved ones. There is a granddaughter that will never know her Grandma Susan. As a grandmother myself, that's such a painful thought. Kids need grandparents. I'm sure Susan had many things to teach her beautiful little granddaughter.

BBM not that I know of Seajay. I've been watching for more news on that.

Sadly I agree with you that the likelihood of her being found alive at this point are so slim, but it's heartbreaking to think about.

Yes it is. For some reason Susan's case captured my heart. I guess because in certain aspects I could relate to her. It's insane that other then the Raley's parking lot and the surrounding businesses, there was never any place else to search. No clues as to what direction she could have gone in, no evidence. It's like the perfect crime. Nothing left for LE to work with and no indicated direction to search in. Where is Susan??? What happened to her? I pray that wherever she is, she's at peace.

Ugh there have been several remains found in this general area recently and it makes me jump every time. I can never decide if I want it to be her or not. I want her found but if she's found that way my fairytale hope of her being alive somewhere is completely gone.

Today's was an elderly man who was out walking and apparently collecting cans to recycle. The second I heard "remains found" in the news teaser I was glued to the TV. No ID yet, but it's clearly not Susan. (it's here: http://www.kcra.com/news/apparent-signs-of-trauma-on-body-found-on-elk-grove-trail/27137144#!blv6wq if anyone's interested in trying to match it up to other missing person cases - I think he was found before he would've even been reported missing though).

Where are you Susan? I hope we find you and answers someday.

I've always thought that if Susan's case had received the media attention SHE deserved, this would not be continuing on like this. More details could have been given, and LE maybe would have had to speak up for that. It seemed to me that this was a hit and miss. Not much "hooplah", lets move on now. Some cases grab the public's attention for whatever reason, and some just quietly go away.

So true Sophiebelle. I want to jump up and down and scream "put her on a magazine cover!" (a la Erin Corwin recently) but it's just not how her case is destined to go, I guess. It makes me really sad. I was in Roseville the other day and actually drove right past the strip mall where she went missing. I had to go to a grocery store anyway and I ended up passing 'hers' and stopping somewhere else. I so wish there was more to go on, more to follow, something!

BBM: I was thinking the same thing. While working on Jennifer Huston's case, with all the searches and the family constantly in front of the media cameras, keeping her name and face in the news, it saddens me that Susan didn't have any of this. No searches, no family in the media, not keeping her name and face in front of anyone who might have seen something that day. Erin Corwin's case as well, all over the news, search warrants, searches all over Joshua Tree National Park, interviewing witnesses and then of course, being on the cover of People magazine.

Susan had none of this. It's such a shame.

Went past "Susan's" shopping center earlier this weekend and thought of her. It's been so long. I wish we'd hear something...anything!
