ADMIN NOTE:
One of Websleuths most basic principles in our Terms of Service is that we are Victim Friendly.
Our victim friendly policy extends to family members and loved ones of a missing person. Criticizing or making other negative comments or insinuations about them is not allowed. PERIOD.
I think Syd’s parents do not expect Syd to return and so there is no point in revealing more information for sleuths to ponder. Instead, they prefer to remember their beautiful, accomplished daughter and honor her by posting happy memories and putting anything unpleasant out of sight. I’ve asked myself from the beginning if Syd would want her personal thoughts to be displayed on places like Websleuths as possible clues to her disappearance. I don’t know the answer, but I don’t fault her parents for being cautious along the way and seeking privacy and positivity now. If Syd was alive, her parents had to consider her potential feelings about how much they revealed of her private life, especially if it wouldn’t help locate her. I can’t imagine their grief. And it’s normal to feel guilt even if it isn’t warranted. They must be in such pain. I hope their happy memories help ease that pain. I think our work is done.
