Makes a bit more sense now.
Someone went to the house or the nephew returned to the house after the time he spoke to his wife.

So, unless she was off a little about what time they spoke...
They know who owns the SUV!
What happened here and who knows what

They must have some evidence of foul play in that house to call in homicide detectives.

I agree.
Without some evidence, isn't this a missing persons case?
And they have really been concentrating on the house.

I wonder if the interview with the SUV driver led them in the direction of foul play

Yes I think so .if this is the nephew he has no idea Williams wife called him and William told her the nephew left but then if this is the nephew he is seen coming back.

What is odd tho the video from the neighbor shows nothing .....no one coming no one leaving .

You mean before the 17:06 arrival?
Hmm, great point

I wonder if any local press will cover the press conference at noon today?

"On Thursday, with family members looking frantically everywhere for the man they describe as a homebody, they learned something that only deepened the mystery.

They watched the home surveillance video shot by their neighbor across the street which recorded all movement at the front of the Cierzan house on Thursday.

“The video shows he never left the house,” Peck said. “No friends drove up. No one came to the door."

So why did the family make this statement when clearly a relative's SUV came to the house? So strange.

I'm also confused by that. Unless they know the time stamp on the video is wrong.

Hmm, Is that four hours later in the East?

Wondering why his keys, wallet and jacket were in his truck parked out front....

At first they said his things were in the house.
Today, I read keys, wallet and jacket were in the truck

LASD is also looking at video footage from neighbors and businesses nearby, in the process of examining footage.
LASD says blood stains were found in his house, further testing on the samples.
William Cierzan went missing last Thursday. His wife came home to find him missing with all personal belongings left behind.
LASD Homicide Bureau is charged with investigating all missing adults. (Which is why they are on this case)

Wow! I was thinking the sameness that they had some sort of evidence to call in the homicide, but one of the news reports said that it is common in that they can get help from other agencies if homicide is call in.

But the blood changes everything, depending on the amount. I'm sure there is blood in my house from me, if someone looks hard enough.

So, regarding the back wall... it is possible that he did- however, on the other side (as seen in the google maps pictures) is a cement lot, with a somewhat flimsy chain like fence around it. 0pretty sure he did go over, I couldn't imagine it would hold his weight, but heprobably didn't go under either.

I am very familiar with the area, even have driven by a few times the past few days.

It was mentioned that there wasn't a wash or river or lake near, but there is. And it empties into a fairly large, usually dry river bed. There are homeless encampments all up and down walking distance, (less than 1/2-1 mile)

I think the oddest part is the vehicle pulling up backwards into the drive way.
