The search continues for a missing Riverside County father of five whose abandoned car was found more than 10 days ago.

*****
.....William Orellana, who has been missing for eleven days now after his car was found abandoned 35 miles from his Upland home. It was crashed into a light pole near Barton Street and Santa Inez way in Riverside.

*****
They've been checking hospitals and searching for him extensively, posting flyers all over the Inland Empire, including parts of Moreno Valley. His phone and work uniform were both found inside of the car, so he hasn't been active on social media and they can't track his location.

*****
"He's not gang-affiliated," Silvas (his girlfriend) said. "He's not a criminal. All his tattoos are religious tattoos."

******
More in article at link and in YouTube video. His mom says that she normally talks to him multiple times daily, but she hasn't heard from him, nor has his girlfriend or his friends.

Silvas has been dating Orellana for the past four years and shares a son with him. She says the 34-year-old has not been seen or heard from following a visit to his uncle's home in Perris on July 20.

*****
Silvas said she received a missed call from Orellana around 3:52 a.m. on July 21. It wasn't until she tried to contact him and got no answer that she began to worry.

Eventually, she contacted authorities - who saw that his vehicle had been towed following a collision in the city of Riverside.

"He doesn't know anybody in Riverside. He doesn't have any family in Riverside. The area that he was at was so isolated. We don't know how his car got there," she said.

*****
Police did find Orellana's cellphone and his security uniform but not his wallet. Silvas said she filed a missing persons report with the Upland Police Department since the couple is from the area.

But was he driving the car????

Maybe the cell phone and/or car telemetry will reveal another location previously not known about in this investigation. Something that would lead to some answers.

If the collision with the pole was not enough to deploy the airbag I don't think it would be enough to cause a serious injury. If one had that minor of a collision why abandon the car, unless the driver intentionally hit the pole then ditched the car to make it appear an accident happened (not as likely, but that's what I thought when I first read it). Hopefully they're tracking his movement back to his Uncle's where he was last seen.

A white Chrysler 300 was found crashed with no one inside except personal belongings, according to Riverside Police Public Information Officer Ryan Rails.

"We towed the car because it was blocking the roadway. It was a hazard," Railsback told USA TODAY Thursday. "We never made contact with him. He wasn't in the car at the time of the collision. And so it was just an empty car that somebody else hit."

@nhmemorymaker had a very good question upthread. Was he the one driving the car when it crashed?

What kind of security position did he have? Had he been sober when the accident happened? Just lost his job?

Thanks for finding that! What struck me about this was he was arrested at almost 3 in the morning in Riverside in May His fiance/mother of his child says he didn't know anyone in Riverside. The night he was arrested he was in Riverside - I don't think anyone drives 30 miles just to drink at a different bar. He had to know someone there. A coworker, a friend, but someone.

It looks to me like a violation of a protective order. Is that right?
Agreed -- seems that there were FOUR judges involved (is that normal, in CA?) and it is considered a Misdemeanor (how many protectees have we seen that wind up DEAD?) and he got off with a slap on the wrist.

Yes, I couldn't open the actual documents without paying a fee but it was violation of a protective order. (and contempt of court). What is interesting is he waived his right to legal council, waived a trial by jury and took the conviction. Either the evidence was overwhelming or he me might have done so in an attempt to get back in the good graces of the other party involved. As to the charges. The protective order one falls under California Penal Code 166(c)(1) that makes it a misdemeanor to intentionally and knowingly violate a protective order or stay-away court order. This is considered "contempt of court", and can result in up to one year in jail and a fine. (hence the violation of P.O. AND the contempt of court charges).

Just to be a saucy b-word: wow, for once the wife beater goes missing and not the wife!

"He has never not contacted one person. He has always been in touch with us. It's just unlike him to just vanish," said Silvas.

If you're driving from Upland to Perris, you have to go through Riverside. What time did he leave from Upland to go visit the Uncle in Perris?

I am curious to know how long he was at his uncle's in Perris and what state he was in when he left. The intersection he was last seen at is parallel to the 215, which would go into Perris. Was he trying to take side streets home to avoid the major 215 because he shouldn't have been driving?

I am also curious to know if they checked his phone to see if he searched for directions.
