An aerial view of the police investigation taking place on rural land near Airdrie on Monday, July 7th, 2014.

Whats the green tarp with the 4 pylons for?

Or a storage unit.

Watching this unfold is heartbreaking.

The K-9 Unit is now focusing on a field south of the main one. They were in this area earlier in the day #AmberAlert pic.twitter.com/JiwUJUhrGm

A grid search has now begun in that field #yyc #amberalert pic.twitter.com/OGM4l6kvWR

And from the Calgary Herald liveblog -

Herald reporter Val Fortney says the boat was in the water a few minutes ago, but at present she doesn't have a full view of the slough to see if it's still there. She didn't see if come back from the water.

They're being very thorough! Hopefully all of this hard work is leading to some good evidence.

Wonder if this composite matches any other missing persons between BC and Calgary. Not to be rude but I would think missing little boys or teenage boys.

Can anyone tell what is in the greenhouse picture?

Also, family is camping, I read here. Has anyone searched their camper? or where they are? Of course, they are likely not involved by my friends, we have seen stranger things.

I am just curious how aware they are of what is going on in their house?

Does it seem odd to have so little contact from the Families of both parties? I am just shocked that there has not been more of the police putting the family in front of the camera? Unless they believe that there is no chance for the boy and his grandparents to be alive?

I feel like we heard from a rep from the Bosma family almost every day when he was missing? Why is this different? (slightly rhetorical question, I suppose.... I believe I know the answer to that as sad as it is).

A tow truck has arrived. Don't know why at this point. #yyc #AmberAlbert

Looks like something on the lens to me

It very well could be. But when I went back to look again, I noticed that the object stays situated in the same spatial relationship to the tree/shrub growth on shore in the foreground. The people change positions and the focal point of the lens changes to a little right of the original, but the blurred object does not change in its relationship to the tree/shrub. If something were on the lens it would move to the right with change in focal point. I really can't see that being a reflection. I'm no expert, but I have (some) experience and have taken a lot of photos with water. That said, I don't know what it is. It will be interesting to see what it is, if anything. JMO, for what it's worth.

Could be for the truck they were searching earlier... could be for another vehicle

Not an answer to your question but I just wanted to say thank you as I now know what was being called a pylon. I kept seeing the word mentioned the last couple days and thought to myself, say what? Pylon = what I know as a traffic cone.

This is a pylon to me, you may see why I was so baffled lol

Please tell me that blurred black box in the water pic isn't the top of a submerged vehicle. Ugh :(

I would be very surprised if the slough were deep enough to submerge a vehicle!

Please don't read much into the camping thing. I heard it from a neighbour who didn't even sound 100% sure of it himself. I'm sure LE is also curious to contact/get in touch with the elderly Garland's as they are the property owners. They may have already done so. I wouldn't worry too much about them right now or put really much weight at all into the camping comment. I kind of regret even mentioning it now lol.

I didn't want to say it, but it was my first thought when you pointed it out. It still could be a bug on a lens? But I really think it's in the water. :/
