I can only assume the reason a perp would possible stick around and clean up a "blood mess" is if he/she and been cut as well and bleeding

And so, DG, to our knowledge had no evidence of any injuries, correct? If we agree on that point, then a) he either wasn't involved at all, or b) he was involved, but was not acting alone.

Totally, that would be difficult to conceal too... the wounds I mean. I'd LOVE to know if DG had any fresh looking injuries.

I believe the reason that DG is still not an official suspect is because he was not involved.

We can't find these three people because the perp/perps in the case were likely hired and knew EXACTLY what they were doing and how to do it.

I strongly feel that LE is barking up the wrong tree with DG.

Well, just thinking....
If I was working somewhere, and that place went out of business, and I wasn't paid for my last week or two at work, then I heard they had a sale, I might be tempted to go ask for my paycheck! Face it, times are tough! You've got bills, a family, etc., and you need that pay! I don't know how often they were paid, whether weekly, monthly, etc., but they were owed money! Now it wouldn't be a lot, but that sale should have been enough to pay at least one or two of the employees, IMO! It wouldn't be enough for me to fight someone, injure, or murder, but I could see me going there and saying I wanted my pay.

IF things took a turn at that point, who knows!

Perhaps the green truck has nothing at all to do with this case. And perhaps there are OTHER green trucks that haven't been identified *I truly believe there are!!** While I'm not from Canada, never been there, etc., I doubt their farming differs that much from ours. That green truck, my Dad drove a Chevy that color a '76, for many, many years! Even after it wasn't on the road, it still functioned as a farm truck. Still took cattle and hogs to the stock market, still loaded hay on it, etc. There's rich farmers that have new equipment. And there's poor farmers who use what they have until it no longer works. You don't waste money going out and buying a new truck , or equipment just because someone else does, when you have a perfectly functioning truck. ALL IMO, from my experiences.

At this point, we don't even know WHO the blood belonged to! It could be neither of the missing family and a completely different person! We don't know!!

Let's say someone came back to load an item they bought. Well, what if they decided to rob the couple, or something. Might be there blood, and their vehicle used as the get away. Just don't know.

Seems there was financial stress going on for sure. Owing taxes, closing businesses, no realtor license but advertising as such. The various reports of where they were actually going. Guess they didn't have close neighbors or friends they were planning on keeping in contact with, because no one knows their true moving. Did they buy a house? Is there way to look that up? Where were they going to stay in Mexico? Did they own a place there? Renting a place? Staying with family? No one seems to know. Lots of mystery involved, IMO.

As close as the facebook page seems, between the grandma, and kids, I'm surprised she would be willing to leave them for 6 months at a time. Maybe she was OK with that. Maybe she had no choice.

I just want them found, dag nab it!!!

Does anyone know if the house next door to the Liknes Home was ever investigated, IIRC it is a vacant home due to a recent sale and closure.

Curious to know, some of the evidence of stains lead towards that property from the Liknes Home

Here is a bunch of links to show the connection between petroleum industry and mercury.

Whitemark Homes, a Florida-based land development firm, has agreed to acquire Bluesky Oil and Gas, a natural gas production company.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Bluesky will merge with Whitemark Homes and Bluesky will become the surviving operating entity. The company will be filing an information statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the merger. The transaction is expected to be completed in the next 30 days.

Link between Mercury and Gas/Oil industry:

http://www.intertek.com/oil-and-gas/mercury/

....Understanding mercury levels and the functional form of mercury in petroleum production and processing can help with structural design requirements, HSE planning and mitigation strategies. Trace amounts of mercury in crude oil affect quality, price and can cause processing issues. Mercury exists in crude oil in several chemical forms. The presence of trace level mercury in crude oil presents a challenge to petroleum field gathering and the storing of crude oil, and the processing of crudes in refineries........Crude oil streams in certain regions of the world contain high levels of mercury.

http://www.faculty.ait.asia/visu/pdfs/Activities/Participation/TDMC.pdf

The principal method to prevent mercury contamination of equipment and to eliminate mercury from plant products is to remove mercury from various feeds to the plant.....Mercury waste can be treated and disposed by,

1. Recovery / recycle / reuse
2. Physical / chemical treatment
3. Incineration

This buys the police some time, allows them to arrest DG, secure the G property for search and impound truck and take away.
<rsbm>

This has been said many times ... the truck you are seeing is not even on the Garland property !

Are any of the local media outlets or journalists providing updates via their Twitter accounts and if they are can someone post

Its been mentioned a few times that some think it is weird KL and AL would leave their family and move to Mexico. The fact is that they have family in Mexic too. It is a large family with many nieces and nephews and cousins, etc. About half the people I know with kids do not live near their parents.

Sorry if this has been answered before but was the Liknes house locked when JO arrived at 10 am Monday June 30 2014? Was JO able to get into the house at that time?

Yes, and IIRC, their son JL said at the presser that they were going to spend some time in Mexico before coming to their Edmonton condo. If he stammered around a bit, could be he didn't know whether what he said might get his parents in trouble with some requirement related to residency.

If you pause it at 2:53 there is a clear view of the side door that a few people were questioning.

You can also see the drag marks coming from that door to the front of the house.

My brain is computing this and how a stain like that would be created.

Someone must have had significant blood spewing from their body to create a continuous and wide area drag mark. The it appears the dragging stopping the driveway and the bleeding continued, resulting in the larger, final blood stain. Then the person was obviously moved into a vehicle from there.

Whose blood was it? Surely they know by now. I wonder why they don't say.

IMO the blood is not one of the missing 3

I work in SEO and Web Marketing myself. [modsnip]

I'm not even sure what this has to do with anything but I was trying to find businesses connected to KL's name.

I agree that the web marketing business does not seem like a real web marketing business. It looks like a template was purchased, and the idea was to cut and paste information into the various "place holder" spots. It seemed to me like it was another business venture that didn't have the sort of training, education, and expertise that someone would expect. I didn't know what to think when I first came across that particular business, but I did assume that it probably wasn't connected to the disappearance. I'm not so sure with the numerous oil/gas companies that also have the appearance of lacking expertise. I think there could be a connection between those companies and the disappearance of the grandparents.

I think it's safe to assume that there was blood at the scene, enough to justify the involvement of the Medical Examiner's office.

"Police also called the medical examiner. Details as to the ME’s involvement in the investigation was not divulged, police did say that it was not due to the discovery of a body or bodies."

http://www.calgarysun.com/2014/06/30/calgary-police-search-for-missing-boy-and-his-grandparents

"The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) provides responsive front-line death investigation and death certification services."
