Agreed - this area (I was born in Drumheller, have lived in Calgary almost my whole life) has places far closer to dump evidence/bodies. I cannot forsee him taking the risk of driving 1.5 hours with 3 bodies and god knows what else. The highways are patrolled by RCMP, sherrifs etc.

In my own personal opinion - he has destroyed any evidence with chemicals. This man had access to a lot of serious stuff. I hope that I am very wrong and have just seen too many episodes of Breaking Bad, but I have a feeling that bodies will never be recovered.

As I posted up the thread the business that the disputed apparatus took to market has an address in Drumheller! Northern Pressure Systems Inc. I also provided a link to the map. He could have chemically altered the remains prior to going there.

So in context, I place a few posts earlier about the company registered to AL which was selling the apparatus that AL and DG had a dispute over. That company has an address in a Drumheller which as you know is not far from Airdrie. If this man had festered over this deal for 7 years, I can see him thinking this to be a fitting resting place for AL. Moo

I can't see that scrawny arrested man Garland having the strength to lift a 200 pound man. He looks aged for his 54 years.

I agree. It would take a lot of strength to move AL, he must have been alive when he left the house.

I think upon entering the home NO was killed and AL and KL were taken from the home still alive.

That is the only scenario that would explain the 2nd degree charge.

I am assuming AL and KL would have been tied up somehow b/c AL could have easily overpowered DG.

Subdued yes, taken down/up stairs, into a truck, and then out of a truck seems like a heck of a lot of work.

An after thought from my last post is that an adrenaline rush certainly could have made this possible.

This is an unthinkable nightmare and tragedy for all the poor victims as well as DG's elderly parents. To have a child die as the result of an accident, illness etc. must be a parent's worst nightmare but it is also horrible to have a son who has basically lived a life of crime. I read an article awhile ago that I think mentioned that DG's mother was involved with the Airdrie UCW and Airdrie United Church so they aren't Presbyterians. The article about a DG and an Airdrie Presbyterian Church would most likely be another DG. I know that our prayers go out to not only the victims' families but also to DG's parents and family.
 
Wow, this thread has been going crazy. I am still on thread #2 and everyone is on #8. I need to spend some serious time to get caught up!!!

When people searching different areas around Calgary and Airdrie is any one keep track of locations searched?

I am not at all saying you're wrong! I was just thinking about him hauling 3 bodies along the highways - super risky! I wonder if that company has any well sites closer to home? From what I've read about him, I can see him planning out every detail (obviously excluding NO's presence) and you're right - if the patent dispute was his motive, then land owned by this company would be a very fitting resting place.
 
Do you of any previous places of employment, maybe he knows areas around old work sites?
 
I think I know why LE wants oil fields to check their land....goes back to my initial theory that this case reminded me of the show Breaking Bad.

The first episode of Breaking Bad shows Jesse dissolving a body in hydrofluoric acid. Walt tells him to do it in a plastic tub, he does it in the porcelain bathtub instead and the acid eats the body, the tub, the floor, etc.

DG is a chemist, so I was assuming he would know how to chemically dispose of evidence much better than your average Joe.

Incidentally hydrofluroic acid is used to clean mud from oil wells.

ETA: Did some more browsing and it seems lye+sodium AKA sodium hydroxide is the best way to dissolve a body. This is readily available and also used in the oil fields. http://continentalchemicalusa.com/oil-gas-bulk-chemicals/sodium-hydroxide.php
For instance, sodium hydroxide is used extensively in the oil and drilling industries to increase the alkalinity of mud being drilled into and neutralize any acidic gasses produced.

Do we even know the parents of DG are still alive?
Strange we haven't seen or heard from them?
While there may not be a statement offered by them, IMO, they might come to further support the son whom they live with and provides them assistance on the farm

Many posters here, especially those who live in Alberta, have offered up so may ideas and locales as possible search sites. I hate to say it but I don't have a good gut feeling that they will be found. We're talking a vast area, much of it being rugged and remote. I know it's wishful thinking and a major long shot but would DG ever tell his parents? I would say no. I'm sure one could say that he's made their lives miserable so why would he show any empathy now? There are some who are just evil seeds!

I have looked at all the pictures of the "perp walk" and it doesn't look like he has any hair on his arms either......

Putting a body in a sheet or blanket would make it much easier though and it could be dragged. I have a massive wooden armoire at home and I've had to move it and I had someone help me tip it and put a blanket under then dragged it ..... moved easy peasy. I do a similar think with the massive trampoline in my back yard to mow the lawn.
 
Would this entire thread be better in "in the news" or "up to the minute" instead of missing. The cops did charge DG with murder.

Sorry, I guess it counts as rumor for now. I distinctly remember someone posting a link so if anyone can find it that would be helpful.

I thought it said the parent's lawyer issued a statement that they were shocked and surprised and are doing 'as well as can be expected during this time'.


I know I read that somewhere, I just have to find it.
