Here is an article about a man years ago that was a mall Santa and was involved in child *advertiser censored*. The mall when asked about background checks states they use a third party. I’ve worked with the social services for over 10 years with very vulnerable populations and some of those organizations even do a poor job of checking sometimes due to being understaffed. At times it comes up in an audit years later.

Hank Idsinga is one awesome cop, IMHO.

Quickly, I'm not sure if the following has been covered here.

How on earth did McArthur become a "Mall Santa" with that assault conviction on his record? Unless I'm wrong, he was doing the Santa thing recently, and his conviction was back in 2001.

A person has to pass a vulnerable persons sector check to do a gig like that, and you would think a conviction for violence would preclude them from such a job.
We believe he received a suspected sentence (a pardon).

Is it odd that the subcontractor says that he brought a different laborer with him every time, and they were brown men between 30-50 is it common to bring a different laborer everytime? Just wondering if he was killing them too....
Depending on the job, one might hire a different laborer for different things. But this is BM, not the average contractor or landscaper, so of course everything he does is suspect.

Check the raw footage link above, he clarified it's normal to pick up a different labourer for grunt work each job via kijiji etc.

I literally have no words. I'm really just speechless, and sitting with this, and feeling this. So eloquently written, also.

Apologies if this is a bit OT, but it happens in all public/community/social services too. In my field, I can't tell you the amount of marginalize folks that persevere through educational institutions when really they have all the odds working against them, thrilled to have made it out the other side and begin their careers. They want to make a difference in the lives of so many, they strive for systemic and social change. Only to be met with the same toxic culture described above that keeps them oppressed. It becomes internalized, and burns them out. Some tap out because it's too detrimental, some become tolerant because they're at least grateful to have a decent job, and some fight only to be shamed for shedding light on an uncomfortable issue. And then it just continues...

So I lied, I wasn't that speechless.

Thank goodness! I love that you speak up. This is important stuff.
Hat's off to you Grey-St. You are amazing! I have learned so much from your posts here. I can't thank you enough.
Please keep talking.

I just watched this and he says that he saw Kinsman at a job on Balmoral. I think a planter was taken from there IIRC.

A suspended sentence is very different than a pardon.

BM did get a suspended sentence.

He attempted to get a pardon but seems he wasn't successful (see recent articles discussing his attempt to cover his tracks)

No, if you go to the government of Canada website and look at other Canadian resources, it's exactly the same thing. A few years ago the government revampt a pardon, and renamed it as a suspended sentence. So we no longer use "pardons" but they are essentially the same thing, and folks still use the terms interchangeably which is why it was in MSM.

Wow, nothing but love tonight apparently! Many thanks Snoopster, it means a lot to me to hear that.

The new name is "Record suspension" - still not the same thing as a suspended sentence.

I wonder how many folks are pulling out their Santa pics with the kids?

Yes, record suspension is what I meant, apologies- I'm quite tired and drained with everything going on. So "record suspension" and "pardon" are still sometimes used interchangeably, which is why I put it in brackets in my original post. I did a ton of research on this a week or two ago. From our Canadian government website:

:tyou:

A lot of landscaper helpers don't last long on the job, with the working conditions and often lousy pay.
