''Lorelei Williams, a member of the dance group Butterflies in Spirit which has continuously supported Poorman’s family, said police told her they were searching coyote dens within the park.

According to Poorman’s mother, Sheila, the coroner said part of her daughter’s cranium and some finger bones were not recovered when she was found.

“This is really important because the family wants to find the other pieces of her. This is just one small part of the investigation,” Williams said.''

“We don’t yet know where Chelsea went immediately after her disappearance or how she ended up at the house in Shaughnessy,” Addison told Postmedia in an earlier interview.

That's interesting that she said that "Its a small part of the investigation." In a an earlier post on this thread someone mentioned "something pink on the side patio of the property" from above in an aerial photo (on Google maps I believe.) I wanted to say that could be insulation packaging. I saw a picture of such packaging today and got to thinking about Chelsea's case. There are two thoughts on this: 1) it could be packaging. or 2) possibly not packaging. It didn't look like insulation to me so packaging (?) perhaps. The thing with the packaging assumption is that it was elongated too perfectly for it to be packaging. Packaging would be crumpled up and not so perfect in shape. So its hard to say if it was packaging. I wonder if LE does find the rest of her remains then what? If they believe it was not suspicious then could their assumption change? IDK, obviously if there are signs of something on the remains (knife mark.) But if not then whose to say what happened. Well, she did say it was a small part of the investigation so who knows? Why would she say that. Yes the family is also giving little info, rightly so. It seems pretty dramatic that Chelsea's father went to such great lengths to get into the property as he himself had said he did if he didn't believe something nefarious happened. So for sure this is mysterious.

So much of this does not sit well with me.

Can anyone explain to me why the RCMP is involved in this? I’m reading that Vancouver LE is searching coyote dens in a park in relation to Chelsea’s murder. So we have the RCMP and Vancouver involved?

I wonder if they believe she died in the park, was ravaged by coyotes at some point, and recently moved to the house, where she was found. I can’t believe she was there all that time and no one noticed.

I sure hope this doesn’t turn into another apathetic police force forming prejudicial judgement on the death of an indigenous woman. I had hoped that we had finally had our reckoning on that but I have a terrible feeling that’s where this is headed.

I hope I’m wrong.

I wonder if their belief is that a coyote came to the garden after Chelsea's passing and took the missing parts, as an explanation for why they weren't there.
Seems they may be still be going down the route of no foul play and looking for evidence to back it up.

Owen's Corning fiberglass insulation is a signature pink color and can be bought in flat rectangular batts. They would be narrower than a blanket (24" max width) but they might appear to have a similar dimension to a body. 48633481_22.jpg

It would be interesting to hear how authorities arrived at the possiblity a coyote was involved. The effort doesn't seem particularly evidence-based from what Lorelei Williams stated: "in case coyotes had carried some of Chelsea's remains" and "if a coyote took a part of her". Seems like a shot in the dark. I'd probably be more sceptical if they actually found her missing remains "in a coyote den".

"Lorelei Williams has been supporting the family through the investigation and was invited to see firsthand what officers were doing. She said investigators were searching through the park in case coyotes had carried some of Chelsea’s remains to their dens."

“They showed me where they’re searching and they showed me what they’re searching with and the way they’re doing it,” Williams said. “If a coyote took a part of her, they’re going to check this part out.”

"Almost two years later, her remains were found on the property of a home in the upscale Shaughnessy neighbourhood which was believed to be frequented by squatters."

So who are they referring to when CTVNews says the property was "believed to be frequented by squatters"? Who "believed" there were frequent squatters coming and going to a home in the most affluent neighborhood in Vancouver?! Someone "believed" this because they witnessed it? They heard rumors? Were the authorities ever contacted about this illegal activity or did the person who believed this just do nothing?

I would really like to know how a home in the most affluent neighborhood in Vancouver was
"frequented by squatters" and this activity somehow flew under the radar...or did it?

"A Vancouver woman has a cautionary tale for anyone living next to an abandoned house after she battled city authorities for months to stop strangers from partying on the decaying back porch of a rundown house across her lane. Laura De Munain moved into her family’s Oak Street house on the outskirts of the tony Shaughnessy neighbourhood in April. While working from home, the pregnant lawyer soon noticed groups of two or three people regularly stumbling around her back alley in a daze.Oh look...it appears that the city is completely aware that there is a serious problem with trespassing/squatting and vandalism in the Shaughnessy neighborhood."

So it seems that local authorities have been aware of trespassers and vandalism in the Shaughnessy neighborhood since at least 2014 and apparently nothing much has been done to fix it.

I suppose if one thinks about it a healthy young person could climb over that fence and get in that way. IMO the property should be rented out at the very least, since if it is cleaned up it could make a nice home for people. IDK the city should really force the owners of good buildings to at least rent them out. I know the property is the owners castle but still empty bildings do attract undesirable behaviour to them. IMO a city should have some sort of mandate regarding this sort of thing. Would Chelsea's case be solvable if this was so? IMO it wouldn't be a place to party if it was so at least we can say that it lessens the complications of what may have occurred. This is a great excuse for someone looking to dump a person. To me this causes even more suspicions actually. Its a known party house frequented by multiple unknown individuals. Anyone could have brought her there.

The only reaon I can think of both LE agencies involvment is because perhaps one agency is less equiped than the other. Its just speculation on my part.

IMO insulation would be rigid and not maliable as its packaging. If a body was under the insulation I would think it would be hard to cover it but I could be wrong if it got wet then perhaps it can cover the body. I can imagine however that the insulation would be blackened if a body was decomposing under it if it was the case. The aerial shot from above doesn't show black on it though.

It's actually quite soft and becomes heavy if it's wet which of course it would be if it was left on a deck. The main problem is that as I said it is a maximum of 24" wide so if that is what someone saw on Google Earth, I would be inclined to think it was not concealing a body - it just might look suspicious in hindsight from an aerial view.

''MEDIA RELEASE BC First Nations Justice Council Stands in Solidarity with Sheila Poorman and Supports Full Investigation into the Death and Disappearance of Daughter, Chelsea Poorman (Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (TsleilWaututh)/Vancouver, B.C. [June 6, 2022] - The BC First Nations Justice Council stands in solidarity with Sheila Poorman, mother of Chelsea Poorman, after an opportunity to sit down and hear her story last week at the Union of BC Indian Chiefs (UBCIC) Meeting. Poorman addressed the delegation of Chiefs, their proxies, and observers about her on-going struggle to get answers from the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) on what happened to her daughter, Chelsea. A member of the Kwacatoose First Nation, Chelsea was 24-years old when she went missing on Sept. 6, 2020, last seen in downtown Vancouver. Chelsea’s remains were found in the upscale Vancouver neighbourhood of Shaughnessy mid-April, 2022.

Moo....i know downtown Vancouver very, very well. Worked as waitress at some of rougher but nice bars for years (i prefer working those bars cause....the waitress is always right :) ). Like any big city, ya gotta watch ya back. Lots of after hour booze cans, lots of drugs, gangs etc..etc. And yea partying in vacant 'fancy houses' is pretty common. There used to be a notorious 'mansion' years ago that was squated, partied in..a dead body or two. I really do not see that Chelsea being first nation has much to do with anything. She was new in town, she was partying and she was with people she did not know. She got unlucky. Went missing Sept..it was a very wet, very cold, very long winter. So decomposing would not be noticeable. Still has'nt quit raining. That insulation can be pulled apart easily..it is in compressed layers. There are lots of coyotes in Vancouver but i would think rats have done the body damage, rats are a problem here expecially on winter..they move into houses. I am sad for Chelsea's family and it is good they made some noise, because it is very easy to disappear in this city. Moo
