From the link: "Police say officers were called to a home on Trailwood Place at around 8:30 last evening.

"When they arrived, police were told a 37-year-old woman had been taken by three men."

So it appears that someone in the home witnessed the abduction and called the police.

It doesn't seem as though there was any other description of the three men, other than they were black, and wearing police uniforms.

From what has been reported so far, it doesn't seem as though there were any other witnesses to the three black "policemen".

JMO, but Wasaga Beach is not an ethnically diverse town. Of the 20,000 people, only 150 are black. Three black men cannot just melt in with the locals. And why dress up as police officers? Wouldn't that just attract even more attention to themselves, especially at 8:30 p.m. on a residential street.

JMO, but I think the story could be a crock.

I worry for this woman's safety.

Police say woman abducted following home invasion in Wasaga Beach

If I didn't know better, I would question whether it was a de-programming team returning her to her family, or something like that; treating her as though she has been brainwashed into living a way of life that is not acceptable for women. That's a wild idea, but that's a first thought given the controlled abduction.

Three men announce themselves as police, enter a home, take a woman who has no children from the home, and poof. No one at the home was harmed, by the sounds of it. She recently moved, someone was reportedly watching the home, something to do with Iran? Private flights?

The pictures are of her husband.
translated, with photos the two together:

Dr. Farnam Shapoorifar, 38, a veterinarian and "supplier of veterinary drugs," and his wife, Elnaz Haj Tamiri, in May 2017, 48 hours apart, from an "unknown virus" in Toos Hospital, in May 2017, according to exclusive research by Perjan Mirror, Tehran, is dead.

The death was suspicious.
The two kidneys were out of order at the same time

Trying to follow this, both husband and wife are hospitalized (in Tehran, Iran in 2017) with a mysterious illness that ends up killing him, but not her. I am worried that her and her husband have both been targeted, but by whom and for what, I have no idea. I would think it has to do with something from before 2017 as opposed to someone unhappy with her current lifestyle choices in Canada.

The rest states how distraught Elnaz was, her work with the school in his honor, and her husband's educational background.

"Based on the research and information obtained by Perjan Mirror regarding the life of Elnaz Haj Tamiri in Iran and the sudden and suspicious death of her husband, a fundamental question arises. Could the abduction of Elnaz Haj Tamiri by three masked gunmen in northern Toronto be linked to the suspicious death of her husband, Dr. Farnam Shapoorifar, in Iran in 2017?"

and "
By interviewing several people close to Elnaz Haj Tamiri, Perjan Mirror has obtained unconfirmed information about him in recent months, which needs to be reviewed and confirmed before publication."

No updates that I could find.
Very worried about this woman, especially after all she went through and trying to start a new life in Canada.

I have several Iranian friends. Very educated professionals. Regular people who have no connections to anything political. I have no idea about Elnaz, but I do wonder about her husband's "suspicious" death. Was he connected to something? Was his family? Did she know something? For a veterinarian, they certainly did a lot of traveling. Could this abduction be a case of mistaken identity?

Wow.. This is like a spy novel.

This is a targeted attack for sure and someone wanted Elnaz dead.

Her skull was cracked with a frying pan a few weeks earlier and she feared for her safety.

Her hire car was found to have 2 tracking devices. There seems to be so much more to this story than we know.

‘We believe Elnaz is still alive’: Family makes plea for leads to woman’s abduction from Wasaga Beach home (simcoe.com)
So the white SUV was stolen and abandoned after the abduction. And the other white car that was hanging around with the bearded man had no plates. How can these men be trailed?

As for the previous attack, that's horrifying.
Seems she did move from Richmond in an effort to hide, but was still tracked.
What on earth do these people want from her? Or why dead if that's the case?

Maybe it has nothing to do with her past in Iran. Could it be connected to the import/export work she did?

More detail, and video regarding the previous attack in Richmond Hill.

She was dragged out of her car in the parking garage of her apartment building. She needed 35 to 40 stitches on her head.

"...the family does not know whether the initial attack and the abduction were connected.

“We don’t know. We do know that from the little information we have, the identity of the men was different,” they said. “It was not the same men that had attacked her versus abducting her — but that’s really all the information that we have.”

Woman abducted from Wasaga was violently attacked weeks before: family - Orillia News

''Elnaz Hajtamiri's family is pleading for her safe return, and urging the public to help share her photos''

“We feel helpless,” said Hajtamiri’s cousin from the U.S. “We’re desperate at this time to have something, anything that can lead us to her.”

The name of the cousin is being withheld out of concern for the family’s safety, but the family has verified their relation to Hajtamiri (who also goes by Tamiri) to CollingwoodToday.ca. ''

''According to her cousin, Hajtamiri was attacked in the parking garage at her residence in Richmond Hill on December 21, 2021. She was, the cousin reported, pulled from her vehicle by two men and beaten with a frying pan so brutally she suffered a gash from her forehead to the back of her head, requiring about three dozen stitches.

The gash would still be visible, said Hajtamiri’s cousin, who urged people to consider that identifying mark when looking for glimpses of Hajtamiri on security footage or in public.''

''Prior to the parking garage attack, two tracking devices were discovered on Hajtamiri's vehicle when she returned it at the end of her lease for an inspection. Family members said the tracking devices were turned over to police and Hajtamiri purchased the vehicle.

Following the parking garage attack, police seized the vehicle as part of the investigation and found another tracking device on it.

The vehicle was in Wasaga Beach with Hajtamiri when she was abducted, but a statement from the family indicated there’s no evidence there was a tracking device on the car at the time it was parked in Wasaga Beach''

''They dragged Elnaz out of the house, she was barefoot in the snow,” said the cousin. “They took her watch and her cell phone and tossed them into the snow. She was screaming.”

''Anyone with information on this abduction and home invasion or the location of Hajtamiri can call the dedicated tip line at 1-888-728-3415. Police and others are also using the hashtag #BringElnazHome on social media.''

''The family is working with investigators and pleading for help from the public as police continue to search for her, 16 days after she was taken.
"It's been devastating ... The family has been kind of crushed by this," said the cousin. "It feels as if [our] lives have stopped in this moment."
CBC News is not identifying the cousin, who lives in the U.S., out concern for her safety.''

''She was born in Iran and came to Canada in 2018, and found work in the import-export shipping industry, according to a press release from the family, but she recently left her job to focus on building a cake-making business. The release said she also volunteered for charitable organizations.

She married a veterinarian named Farnam Shapourifar when she was 25, but he died in 2017, according to the release. The family says Hajtamiri used their savings to help build a school for young girls in an impoverished village in Iran in honour of her late husband.

OPP investigators have established a dedicated tip line for the case at 1-833-728-3415, and are asking the public for any information that could help locate Hajtamiri.''

British-Iranian man's kidnap in Dubai: Wife blames UK - BBC News

Life sentences for men who kidnapped British businessman in Dubai (thenationalnews.com)
“Cars were rented and the victim was put under close observation, and on the day of the incident after a long day at work, the victim, who was taking his car to head home to his wife and family, was attacked, drugged and taken to Sharjah port, where he was smuggled into a ship and back to Iran.”
He said that after months of investigations, prosecutors had found medication used to drug the victim and masks were found in the victim’s car and in the rented house.''

Wow how bizzare.
This poor was was targeted for some reason.
Might this be one of the reasons she was targeted? speculation.

''The cousin wouldn’t say if the family has any indication why Hajtamiri may have been targeted, or if they have any theories about who her attackers may be.

“Elnaz was a very, very wonderful person with high moral integrity and standards, and we have no reason to believe that she was involved or connecting with anyone that had any criminal activity,” the cousin said. “We believe that she is still alive because we don’t have a reason to believe otherwise.”

This sounds like a deliberate, decisive abduction, for hire. Motives? To regain power and control over someone.
Whoever did this has money, legal or otherwise, and connections to people who would kidnap someone.
I have a theory but it isn’t good news
Possible that she’s fled home country and been recaptured

Regarding the previous attack in the garage of her apartment building, I wonder why she was not abducted during that event. She was obviously incapacitated given her wounds. Maybe someone else showed up, another car, and the attackers had to flee? Or was that attack a warning of some sort?

I'm also again wondering about her husband's death. He died quickly under "suspicious" circumstances. Though Elnaz was devastated, what about members of his own family? Could someone in that family have misguided suspicions Elnaz was involved?

She used their savings to start that school for girls, in his honor. Could someone or a group of hard line fanatics perceive that as against their "values", that girls ought not to have an education? I doubt this though, it's Iran, not Afghanistan.
