If the cultural pressures that some Korean members have mentioned are true, if Eugene left because of self worth problems, then with all this money that was spent and attention from the public it would make it even more difficult for him to come back. MOO

I think this is why family are keeping certain aspects of the case to themselves.
They want him to come home and don't want it to be more difficult that it has to be
Once personal information is out there, you can't take it back

It is my opinion that the reason he may have left will not help us find him
The why explains the reason, but does not tell us where he may be
The where is what we need to know

In my opinion, I believe the WHY could definitely help us. If he has PLANNED this at all, there is a very small possibility that there are clues left behind. Search histories on computers, laptops, etc. There's also a possibility that he decided just to drive aimlessly without planning it.

So - we are basically looking at:
1) He did this on a whim and decided "today is the day I'm gonna do this"
2) After all this careful planning, with arranging my sick day, my wife thinks I'm at work, etc. I'm now gonna put my plan into action.

Where on earth are you Eugene? :sigh:

No I just noticed that it was posted recently.
He probably drove past it on the way to North Bay.. but since it's recent I'm assuming he went back that way.

About the "I can't talk right now", the last text
I wonder if Eugene ever sent this type of text before.
If this was his first time using auto pre-text messages, then this may be a criminal investigation.
As mentioned before in earlier posts, this is a function (auto pre-text) in your phone that will help you decline PHONE CALLS when you are busy.
Whoever had the phone was not Eugene Kim on the last two text messages out to Eugene's wife.

It states in the article that Jonathan Bell was involved in a collision. I'm ASSUMING maybe Jonathan Bell had a collision with Eugene Kim. Maybe Jonathan was intoxicated. Maybe Eugene took the day off to go FISHING or CASINO, check if his fishing gear is home. They got into some altercation, then bad things happened. There are so many lakes in this area. Car will not float... Check Lake Joseph, it is close/beside Hwy 612.

As for the sighting in Voyageur Outfitters, could have been someone who looks like Eugene Kim, he even looks similar to me. If you ain't Asian, it's hard to tell the difference from Chinese, Korean.

Jonathan Bell was reported missing by his family at the same time and same area as Eugene Kim's missing case. I'm wondering why no one is discussing this.

From the Article:
"Members of the West Parry Sound OPP were looking for the the public's assistance in locating a missing man: Johnathan Bell, 25, of McKellar, who police thought may have been involved in a vehicle collision sometime during the morning of October 3. The vehicle he was observed driving earlier the same day was found in the MacTier area on Highway 612.

After an extensive search of the area by the OPP Canine Unit, and the the OPP Emergency Response Team, Bell was not found.

Bell is described as 5-feet, 6-inches tall, and approximately 140 lbs. He has a light-coloured skin complexion, brown brush cut hair, and brown eyes.
Police and family were concerned for his well-being and were requesting the public's assistance to help locate him."

JONATHAN BELL LOCATED ON BY PARRY SOUND POLICE:
MCKELLAR TWP. - UPDATE (8:38 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5): Johnathan Bell has been located.

WHY DID HE GO MISSING FOR 2 DAYS? WHAT IS THE REASON?
I believe Jonathan had his collsion on Monday, Oct 2. He didn't come home Tuesday night, and that's why his family called Police on Oct 3 to report him missing. It says in the article that police believe he was involved in a vehicle collsion sometime during the morning of Oct 3. How would they know this? That means Jonathan must have called home, saying he was in a car accident. But if he called home on Oct 3rd, why would his family report him missing that same day, doesn't make sense.
Maybe Eugene was very injured, Jonathan didn't want to go to jail / charged, and took Eugene's cell phone, as he knew cell phones are traceable. Drove Eugene's car into a lake with Eugene in it. Needed to by some time that's why the auto pre texts were sent, travelled up HWY 11, threw out the cell phone in North Bay area, so police will investigate / search for Eugene in North Bay, away from his collision area, away from his home town area.

IMPORTANT MAP ROUTES / CITY NAMES:
MCKELLAR - Jonathan's home town
MACTIER - Jonathan's Car located here on Oct 3 or Oct 5
NORTH BAY - Cell on text message registered here, cellphone may be found in North Bay area or Lake Nipissing
HWY 612 - Possible collision area, very small hwy, search here for clues
HWY 11 - Route to go to Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Algonquin, North Bay
HUNTSVILLE - Travel point, could make stop for coffee / food
GRAVENHURST - Travel point, could make stop for coffee / food
ALGONQUIN PARK - Eugene's not there

Thank you for this
I am going to go read about Bell
You have brought up some very curious questions

So does anyone know where Bell was located and his condition?
And did he give an explanation for his absence?

Any forensics from his car? An accident involving another vehicle?

Some factors to consider here:

--He couldn't have driven Eugene's car into the lake. The only pre-text he used was "I can't talk right now". The other one was "be home in an hour"

Respond-With-Messages.jpg

--there would likely be witnesses to the accident itself.
--there would likely be witnesses seeing someone drive a badly beat up car (possibly with someone in it) and maybe they would have reported it to police

LE has indicated this is not criminal in nature and that he left on his own.

At this point, I'm assuming that we won't hear much about this anymore. We MIGHT, but I'm not sure anymore. I've been reading the Find Eugene FB page, and nothing new has been posted by the admin of that page since Saturday, nor has there been any new media releases.

The only other explanation for those texts that would support your theory was if Jonathan just casually typed "he home in an hour" - not really knowing where Eugene originally lived. Maybe he assumed he was a local and figured an hour would be enough time for him to get home.

I dunno...I'm so stumped as each passing day goes by.

Just my honest opinion.

The main thing I can think of is if it is indeed a form of mental illness leading to the taking of one’s life, it may make people more observant of paths, ditches, rivers, etc. that they wouldn’t consider vs only looking out for a black Rogue. For me, I’m going up north a bit not too far from Algonquin to help close a family member’s cottage. Now I could just look out on the road when I’m driving up there, but given my own in-depth view of possibilities, you can bet I would scanning a bit more intently in the areas outside of the roads, especially if I’m going for a walk somewhere in the backwoods.

I would think the family getting closure even if it’s the worst case scenario is better than not knowing at all whatever happened. But then again, the close ones (wife, brother, brother in-law) all said he had no issues like that, so I would take it that there really wasn't anything anybody realized would happen regarding something like this.

I'm hoping his very good friends have an idea where he is.
Maybe they are trying to convince him to come back...

There hasn't been an update by his wife. So maybe they are giving her some info.

That's what I'm hoping..

People should be observant of ditches, paths, rivers no matter what
An accident can put you in the same postion

No matter the reason, mental illness, accident, criminal , ,people need to be observant IMO

HWY 612 is very small hwy and CURVY at couple points. This is not the city, population probably like 100 people or less in the area at hwy 612. We consider this the country. No street lights. Most people would travel through the major hwy. Please take a look on Google maps, search Mactier and Hwy 612. Monday is the slowest day for traffic, especially at night. I've driven in theses areas before, I live in GTA (Greater Toronto Area), it is scary to drive at night as it is pitch black as no street lights in small country roads.

It is possible car was driven into the lake by Jonathan, he took Eugene's cell phone. Body and cellphone would be at different locations.

Did the license plate match up in the recent surveillance picture of Black Nissan that passed a convenience store? Not confirmed right?

Sure, of course they should be but aren't always. Alot of people just seeing it on the news in let's say a 15 sec exposure, if all they're told is "look out for this car and person", they have other things in mind and may just vaguely look out for the car. When going for a walk in the woods, it is likely people can daydream, just look straight ahead, etc., but if there is somehow that little bit extra in the details to make people tilt their head just a bit more (i.e. I see a ripped piece of cloth.. oh well vs Hmm, let me walk the extra 30 ft see what's over there), that could make the difference. It could be small, but just enough as we've seen in many other cases.

Now again, I understand both sides where it's "just look out for the facts: Car and person. Don't need to know anything more" vs "paint us a better picture so it might inspire us to talk about it more to other people, turn our heads, focus our eyes a little more". Heck, maybe that person who gets the bigger but more detailed picture painted might just chit chat with someone up north while in line about it, spreading the message sooner. If it's fact based, it easily gets lost in ones daily actions and words.

It doesn't seem so. Unfortunately this seems to be where some of the frustration is coming from as there does not seem to be one standard, cohesive, more official set of information coming out. I'm surprised there isn't more of a call to businesses in the region if they have any security camera footage from that time, or confirmation if any traffic intersection has or has not caught it.

When you get a permit to enter a park, what information do you have to put on it, if any?
Do you just sign for it? Show ID? Give a plate number?

Is it just a fee thing or is it a way to keep track of people coming into the park?

If you get an overnight pass, and you don't come out the next day, what happens?.

Not much of a camper here

Jason Allen, friend of Eugene, you can find his posting on Come Home Eugene Facebook page. He recently went looking for Eugene using an ATV. He stated that when he asked people if they have seen Eugene or his car, they said they didn't know he was missing.

Besides the local authorities there, are the only people searching for Eugene from the Toronto / Markham / GTA? Hire private investigator, more than 1, with all the money collected $45k+

The police stated they have no indication of a crime, so they can't request footage or assign the manpower required to collect and sift through it, it's a very time consuming job. Requesting records of cell phone/financial activity and following up on tips may well be the limit of what they can do. It's frustrating for the family, but I'm afraid it's the reality: if someone had caused him to disappear police would invest endless resources to catch that person, but since he apparently chose to disappear himself, they will not make the same effort to find him.

Just give a name and plate. Proof of ID is not needed and they don't go out to check. Also, given how different Eugene looks, how do we know the employee id'd the right person? The Korean paper has mentioned he likely used a pseudo name. Maybe it was the one Asian guy that came through, looked like Eugene in the pictures but wasn't him really. Can explain the pseudo name thing.
