''NRPS say a group of people, some who don't live in the Niagara region, were at the home on Jan. 18. The home was a short-term rental.

Someone fired a gun, and people left the house before officers arrived.

Police found the two dead women in the home and say both had "obvious trauma to their bodies."

"Homicide detectives are appealing to anyone who may reside or have a business in the area of the scene that has security cameras, doorbell cameras or dashboard cameras to contact them. They may have captured something that could assist the investigation," reads a release from police.

Police find takeout food order at the scene
Detectives said on Thursday afternoon they found a takeout food order at the scene.

Inside a grey, plastic bag with "923" written on it was a white Styrofoam container with a cheeseburger, fries, chicken wings, celery, carrots and blue cheese dip.

The bag also contained five ketchup packets from the brand, Sunspun.

Police are looking to identify what restaurant the order came from. Detectives say they believe it was ordered on Monday, Jan. 18 or in the early morning hours of Jan. 19.''

''Juliana Pannunzio was killed early Tuesday after a disturbance at a rental home on the Niagara River Parkway. 18 year old Christina Crooks of Toronto was also found dead at the home.

Pannunzio's friend says she was 'tragically taken away from us' and described her as a sweet angel and a kind soul.

"She loved everyone and she always wanted everyone to be happy. She never failed to make me laugh and she will forever live on.''

'I was shocked': Neighbours shaken as investigation into Fort Erie double homicide continues

The investigation into the murder of two women in Fort Erie continues as Niagara police have brought in the dive team to the area off the Niagara Parkway.

Residents of the upscale, riverfront neighbourhood say the incident took place inside an Airbnb-style rental property.

“It’s a rental, and it’s usually booked solid,” said George Boboros, who lives a few doors down from the house which was still surrounded by police tape on Wednesday afternoon. He said he didn’t hear anything the night of the incident, until he was awoken by the flashing lights and sirens on Tuesday morning.

The typically sleepy neighbourhood has been abuzz with police activity since authorities discovered the bodies of two women inside the home.

An online rental listing for the property advertises it as a “Niagara Waterfront Chalet” which rents for about $150 per night. Late afternoon Wednesday, police confirmed that the property is a short term rental where a group of people had been staying.

“I was shocked when I found out it was a shooting,” said Boboros, who has lived in the area for 30 years. “It’s a quiet neighbourhood, always has been. That’s why I moved here.”

According to police, there were gunshots fired inside the house in the early morning hours on Jan. 18, but everyone quickly fled and police arrived to find the home empty, save for bodies of the two dead women, who they have not yet identified. While they do not know exactly who was at the rental house at the time of the incident, police said at least some of the people there were from outside Niagara.

Toronto woman among two murdered at Airbnb and 'friends' did nothing | Toronto Sun
''Christina Crooks and Juliana Pannunzio were left behind.

No one called 911, no one took them to the hospital, no one bothered to comfort them in their anguish. All alone as their young lives ebbed away.''
''
When officers arrived, they found the bodies of two young women. Their so-called friends and acquaintances had left them there alone to die. So far, it doesn’t look like anyone bothered to call for help.''

''Two families will now have their grieving poisoned by an insidious pandemic, but it won’t be the most bitter pill they have to swallow.

It will be the knowledge that when their girls were dying, people did nothing at all.

Detectives are asking the public to contact them if they have any information about the deceased or the incident in Fort Erie at 905-688-4111, dial 3, ext. 1009134.''

Cannot seem to recall any other cases where the food delivery was (seemingly) an important piece of the investigation, wondering why it is important in this case?
Restaurants near Fort Erie murder scene rule out takeout containers as their own
''Takeout food found at the scene of a double murder on Niagara Parkway this week likely came from a restaurant in Niagara Falls.

That’s the opinion of Dennis Wilson, the owner of the Fort Erie eatery located closest to the short-term rental, where the bodies of two young women who were shot and killed were discovered early Tuesday.

On Thursday, Niagara Regional Police released information about a food order found at the scene, which they hope will help in their search for the killer or killers.

Investigators believe “multiple people” were inside at the time of the killings. Police say everyone else had fled by the time officers arrived just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.''

“On Monday, there are very few restaurants that are open in Fort Erie,” said Wilson, adding he has been in contact with police. He said an online search would provide a short list of restaurants that could have been open late Monday.

The food could have been picked up or delivered by a service such as Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes.''

Police have identified where take-out food, found in rental home where two were killed, came from

Police say one part of the investigation into two murders in Fort Erie has been solved.

Last week, Niagara Regional Police released photos of take-out food found in the home where 20 yr old Juliana Pannunzio of Windsor, and 18 yr old Christina Crooks of Toronto were discovered dead.

The restaurant the food was ordered from has now been identified.

"Detectives have been able to identify the restaurant where the food was ordered from. At this time, to preserve the integrity of the investigation, no further information is being released and no arrests have been made at this time." Statement from NRP

Owner of Fort Erie rental, where two women died, now facing charges for not following COVID rules
''The owner of a rental home in Fort Erie, where two murders took place last week, has been charged for not following COVID-19 rules.

The town says Fort Erie By-law Enforcement laid charges under Part III of the Provincial Offences Act for providing “a short-term rental accommodation to individuals other than individuals in need of housing”.

“Due to the severity of the situation, we wanted to act quickly while respecting the boundaries of an open police investigation for a very serious crime. We proceeded with our investigation and gathered all necessary evidence to substantiate the charge once we knew we wouldn't interfere with the NRPS investigation,” said Paul Chudoba, Law Enforcement Coordinator.''

I just read about this case, and I am absolutely SICKENED by it.

Those 2 girls were treated in the most horrific manner.

People at that party need to come forward. I like to think LE is really working hard on this one.

It is appalling.

Should there not be some type of update on this investigation by now? How can the police be sure there is no risk to anyone’s else’s safety? It doesn’t appear they have any suspects. That means there is a very dangerous person(s) on the loose...If multiple people were at the home - someone should have come forward by now? Was this a sexual assault as well? Seems like this very serious double murder of two young girls has gone completely quit... I hope they provide some type of update soon.

Welcome to WS, NewSleuth.

I think the people who were there all have vested interest in not coming forward - by all accounts, this sounds like some sort of a group murder scenario.

At the very least, LE should have the credit card number and owner for the property rental - unless of course it was rented by either of the girls - or - the card was stolen. If the card was stolen, and used for the purpose of renting, luring, and murdering - it would have been a well planned pre-meditated murder.

That being said, the takeout left behind is a strong indication that it was NOT a pre-meditated murder, unless the perps were so high they never thought about being on camera(s) getting the food, which by most accounts seems to indicate it originates from Niagra Falls.

The girls cell phones will likely indicate how much time they spent in the Falls, if they did.

There is SO little information on this case to date.

The only thing I have been able to find of any use at all, are multiple images that JP posted on FB of her lacy bras over the last 2 years. They are strange in that they seem to serve no real purpose, and there are many. They are only visible when searching her name in FB search box, and clicking on photos on the left.

One VERY creepy guy likes many of them. Upon looking at his profile, I could vomit. There are some sketchy (and underage) things posted on his profile. But that is all likely very unrelated to this crime.

Going to check how far Fort Erie is from Niagra Falls.

There is no question LE is working very hard on this case, 2 young girls beaten and murdered in such a horrific way, is a high profile crime anywhere. Hopefully info can be gleaned from their devices.
