I agree that both the Crown and the Defence tiptoed their way around the "relationship" between DS and CD. There may have been "nothing romantic" about hanging around, alone, with a young guy for months but you can't convince me that he didn't see it that way. She "hung out" with him at his mother's home and at TB's home where she was living. That sounds like a young dating relationship to me. Although considering that she was a new mother and she was having difficulties with her relationship with her child's father, I can see where she considered it to be only a needed friendship. We've got mixed signals about just what they were "hanging out" for and a guy who seems to have at least some personality disorders.

I see this as possible motive so it's not surprising that the defence had no questions for her. I guess the jury can look at it however they want.

I agree, it is significant (as a loophole for DS not that I give it much weight), however, it only refers to the HM murder/confession and that gives me confidence in the remainder of the Crown's case.
