"A husband relaxed on his boat off the coast of the Hamptons for up to 20 minutes completely unaware that his wife was drowning just feet away from him, police said today.

John Petrocelli remained on deck when Ninive, 39, went to fetch a sweater from inside because her red summer dress was not keeping her warm enough.

She went towards the back of the boat but appears to have been thrown into the water while on a narrow walkway - out of sight and earshot from her husband on the 45ft long vessel." (cont. at link...)

"Mr Petrocelli, 54, remained where he was for between 10 and 20 minutes and when he finally heard screaming he frantically threw 10 lifejackets into the water.
He alerted the Coast Guard in Montauk, New York, but his wife’s body was pulled out of the water 12 hours later."

He is the heir to an electric company.

His construction business is located in Palisades Park NJ.

I hate money and evil!

But Ninive’s brother, Blas Tejeda, 50, told The Post there are a few things that don’t add up. For one, he said, Ninive was an adventurer, who had gone parachuting, skydiving and bungee jumping. If Ninive were conscious, she would have been able to rescue herself, he said.

“I don’t think it was that difficult for her to get back up there,” Tejeda said. “My sister was a survivor.”

Tejeda stopped short of pointing fingers, but added: “I just want justice for my sister.”

Calm waters. He didnt hear her when she hit the water? Natalie Wood.

Seriously. He didnt hear a thing? It's not like he was on a cruise liner. He was on a yacht. The waves were 3 feet at highest crest and the wind 10 knots.

He waited 20 minutes after she fell in to throw her a bunch of life vests. Then he didn't call the coastguard for hours.

I go on a yacht. I can't hear anything coming for the stern if I'm on the bow, it has to be yelled from the bridge because of the way a sportfish yacht is designed. Boats only 38 feet long.

Even when anchored on a calm
Night with no engine/power on?

I grew up on boats as well. Mind you I'm no expert, but I remember hearing my siblings scream while they were playing in the water on a boat of similar size to this fellows (in the middle of the Atlantic, docked, and with CCR blaring)

So difference of experience/opinions I suppose.

Then again, I guess that boat was imaginary bc ya know I'm poor and stuff.

Wow, every time I slip away there is a new wrinkle in this case. That is three deaths of friends, partners and a wife (two suicides and one accident) in just under two years. Could be something or nothing...this case is nerve racking.

Saw this morning on news. A woman's body was found in a marsh by mastic beach.

I will refer to hawk. Is Fitzpatrick the goto homicide guy for Suffolk? He's all over the place.

I think this:

I'm wondering if this is the guy responsible for Diane's death? They've released a sketch of the rapist in that area...
