Casey's Diary Entry for June 21st & Missing Pages #2

Just had a thought...does anyone remember any of the details of the paper that was found in the car that Casey had written "Mrs. Anthony L...", "Casey Marie L.....", etc....wondered if maybe that ties in with this entry, and if Cindy states that piece of paper was in the car, could the diary have been in the car too?

Stretch I know, but for some reason, this piece of paper came to mind....in fact, didn't we see a photo of it at some point?

If the diary was in the car, it would have the smell of death on it. You can't get a smell like that out of a book. So I don't think it was in the car or whoever photographed it would have smelled it. That would have been good as it would have proven that she was currently writing in it but I don't think that is the case.

Didja all notice how Cindy Constantly had her right hand upon George's left? And did you all catch Cindy try to reach down and squeeze Brad's hand during this conversation, although I think she may have squeezed his wheelchair arm by mistake....:crazy:

The freeze frame shots were priceless, but if someone will listen again and help me, what I am hearing BC say at the end (after all CA's glaring) is that if they want the diary he will give it to the defense. Anybody else hear this?

Really, a simple ink analysis could end all this speculation. Personally, I do not believe that a 17 year old girl would have those thoughts, or even the same handwriting as the KC we know today.

EXACTLY! Very good post. I would love for law enforcement to go to Casey's HS and seize known handwriting samples and compare them to the diary - and do an analysis of how she wrote in '03 as opposed to '08.

Nah . . . I don't think that's it. She would have written something juicy and wonderful in the diary, if that was the case. She said she was happy, not in love. The reason people have diaries is to write about their days and their private thoughts. It is hoped that no one else will ever read the diaries. I was always cautious about putting anything that I didn't want anyone to read but now I don't hold back as much when I write. Diaries are useful tools for venting and getting your thoughts out on paper . . . very therapeutic. Killers usually have to tell someone (or something) that they killed. KC would have to know that her overbearing mother would read her diary if she found it so she couldn't be too wordy. Somewhere along the line, KC learned how to write and talk cryptically and so did her brother.

ITA! If this were about the night she lost her virginity, she would have been swooning over this great guy and how much she loved him. Look at how she was already writing her name with TonE's. You know, the Ms. KC L paper? This was only after knowing him for a few weeks. IMO, her first time would have been written about almost like a Romeo and Juliet type telling. And, let's not forget her fascination with hearts. I think the page she might write about losing her virginity would be covered in hearts. Of course, JMO.

Oh, yeah! I caught that as well. Apparently, if the SA wants, they're going to have to get a warrant.

I wonder if her class graduation was on june 21,2003 maybe her diary entry was about her regrets for not graduating from highschool ...I'm sure Cindy was giving her crap about it...prolly telling her what a loser she was and would never amount to anything( I can see Cindy saying that to her)and KC wrote this entry in her diary to make herself feel better...

That's a really good theory but I'm guessing her graduation would have been end of May, beginning of June.

I'm guessing that you, like me, are from the north. In the south they start/end school earlier. (my boyfriends sister is in FL and her graduation is on Wed. and his nephew graduates the following weekend)

No I'm from the south (VA) and not sure when graduation is but I know last day of the final exams are 6-17-09 so graduation will be after that.. school here starts sept 5th and ends in june depending on snow days unexpected closing.... my graduation was in june many years ago ....

I'm sorry, I wish thinking deeper south, such as North Carolina down. But, after I posted I was thinking that it may depend on the the specific school, district, etc. I was going by friends/family that lived in NC, GA, and FL. You are right that it would fit very well into a graduation journal entry.

It would be very damning if it is proven that she wrote this last year but it doesn't seem as if LE is very concerned with it since they didn't take it or pursue taking it (another search warrent).

I have family that live in TN and they start in august and get out in May ...they call it year round school with the exception of summer they get 2 wk breaks every 6 or 8 wks..something like that ...

I'm with you on that I don't think she wrote that in 2008

Hmmm - that's something to think about. I remember my graduation was in early June.

I have been brainstorming about this diary and wonder if it was an innocent entry why be so concerned over it that the attorney holds it? I feel there is some significance to it but I think it isn't what is on that page but maybe pages IF proven were ripped out..

I went back over the timeline to see if KC did have an opportunity to write in the diary and where she was etc..

She was at TL's appartment, there was no activity on her cell phone for a period of around 2 hours maybe more and somewhere I saw mentioned that TL saw her writing but I didn't find anything yet in interviews but still searching..It was raining that day and she didn't go anywhere that day which was a Saturday..In theory the opportunity to write is there..

I moved on to figure out how the diary would get back into the home if she had it with her..All of her things were picked up from TL's by LA the night of the 911 call..KC was not present when everything was dumped on the floor and gone thru..Nothing was looked thru by LE only by the family except for the ID from KC's wallet which was taken by LE..I have gone over statements from that time frame but nothing is mentioned about items except what was in her wallet, credit cards, cash, computer and the bags.

IF the diary was in there but overlooked at the time and someone went thru it later..well...I know it is a lot to SPECUALTE...but what IF they tore out the pages maybe in rage, disgust, guilt, fear, all depending on what written it in but it could also be a motive to protect KC. I also think if one person found it they wouldn't tell anyone and just destroy the pages especially if you were the one mentioned in the pages. I can picture a person blaming themselves saying 'what have I done?' and protect KC as a way of making up for the guilt..It could also explain a reason not to question KC too much because you already have an understanding and it might expose something else covered up...

I am totally brainstorming and throwing things around without valid proof but thinking of 'what ifs' and IF it is likely..It makes me think that there is something to this especially with it being in the custody of the attorney and not LE because if it was nothing it wouldn't have been mentioned at all..Any thoughts?

Doh...I actually corrected someone on this earlier, in a different thread yet still went along with "it could be from lack of graduation" theory! I either posted before I had enough coffee or it's because I've had Spongebob playing in the background the entire day as I've been on WS/ doing laundry/ cleaning :sponge:

She was to graduate June, 2004. LE has records showing she did receive her HS diploma.

I wonder, since LE did take a picture of the diary entry, if they have already had it analyzed for a time estimate ? I would think that they can compare her writing now to her writing a couple of years back.

Guess who else wrote "Carpe Diem" and crap on her diary (allegedly before or after the killing of a family member):

Kristin Rossum who murdered her husband Greg DeVillers with fentanyl stolen from the lab at which she worked

Some of her diary entries (she had three--likely two were fabricated for her husband and then another for the police) are very Casey-like in their narcissism (my opinion).

On another note, the "end justifies the means" almost always is referring to something hard, difficult and/or painful--something sacrificing. I can't think of any time I see that phrase used unless it is in that context.
