I have a deep respect for you, even though I don't know you personally. It's apparent that you go to great pains to research a case and it's also apparent that you have a lot of respect for those in the legal system. Are you a Lawyer or anything to do with the courts? Thank you for those links and over look my silly questions. As you can see I am still relatively new here and don't know you as well as some of the other long time posters.

I do try to back up my opinions with links and references. Thank you for the compliment. I am NOT an attorney........but there are several in my family as well as a Judge. I have friends that are on both sides and so I see both sides. I know several attorneys that have high profile clients that are pigs.....but I also know that everyone deserves representation. I always joke that I know who to call if I am in trouble. Though doubt it would ever be needed. We have friends in LE as well as FBI, DEA, and Secret Service (retired). I see all sides and respect all sides. So as not to go totally OT I will add......
this case has been in dire need of a PR expert from the beginning. It became a train wreck and there was no reason for it. We can't change history, but the defense, and family need someone IMPARTIAL to get them under control.

Casey Anthony was mentioned on E! Entertainment Television Thursday night, but it wasn't for anything good.

Anthony was named the most notorious woman of 2009.

E's "Fatal Beauty:15 Most Notorious Women" is about ordinary women who became pseudo-celebrities through crime or headline-making stories.

I re-watched today's current news youtube with Megan Kelly. (I just love her!) Something I noticed about the 1:40 mark that Cindy tells Megan that "Caylee has been missing FROM CASEY since June 14th."

Hummm....I know we've thrown around and touched on all dates, but it was more HOW Cindy said this than anything else to me. Anyone think there is something significant to this or am I just reading something into that isn't there. Which by the way, is how this case tends to flow...in a backwards sort of way.
Thanks!

Good catch. The nursing home video I would have thought was already discovered by then as well, so I can't understand the date either.
You can tell already however that Cindy was in coverup mode for KC by this time.

Now that the defense has stated in open court that Casey may be indigent soon, who wants to bet all the money in your pockets that Mom and Pop will spring into action and publish their book claiming it is to help finance the defense?

I get so tickled that Cindy fancies herself, Pop, Lee and Casey as writers. Outside of the "Caylee Marie" song she wrote for the funeral, I have had to make a concentrated effort to decipher what the Anthonyonics mean in any given sentence. There is that wonderful person; however, that is called the ghost writer, and thankfully an editor to boot. (What a very , very busy job that will be).

That rambling open letter she wrote to Casey entitled My Caylee Is Missing made me worry for her. It seemed as almost as if she were intoxicated. It was so nothing compared to her talking over George in a national interview and saying she too had contemplated suicide. What could be more personal? I have never seen anything like it. Interesting that they claim to want to be private, yet the post in the most public way possible the very deepest, most personal feelings of a lifetime...... feelings that some people hold in and keep private. Forever. Then here comes George, reading aloud his article like a schoolboy standing in front of the class with his very first essay. Ironically, though he asked for an audience, the writing was about being under a microscope. So one can only imagine how histrionic the Anthony book will be.

Yes, Casey being in dire straights green lights the Anthony moral compass about when to release the book, imo.

I think of the class and aplomb shown by Jeffrey Dahmer's father, Lionel & Mark Hacking's parents as the epitome of how to act under those circumstances. God forbid but if ever faced with anything along those lines, they would be my role models.

One of the reasons I became I so interested in this case was the bizarre and illogical behavior of the grandparents. I've seen many other cases with parents wanting to support their children and believe that they are innocent when all the evidence says otherwise. I feel sorry for them because they are in such deep denial that they can't fathom their child is a killer.

This case would positively be BORING without these grandparents acting all wacky and out of control. They'd be just another set of grieving grandparents standing next to a sociopath whose lies just put me to sleep. But no, they don't shut their yaps until their perfect mother of the year who can do no wrong daughter is made a felon.

I can't figure out if this is all still just a big game to them, and they have to win by making the public, who could freaking care less about THEM, believe they love and support Casey while secretly hating and desping her (I mean, they leave her more than enough clues - 50 bucks for food and necessities and then off on a cruise they go, for example), or if they are really as delusional and out of control like this everyday and this murder has just brought out the worst qualities in them for everyone to have see and deal with on a daily basis. Can anyone really be surprised that Casey turned out the way she did?

Being quiet now says nothing. I have lost any and all sympathy I had or could ever have for them. The damage has been done, and at the end of the day, all the craziness and shenanigans will get their precious princess the death penalty. All they will be left with is the ghost of a little girl that deserved their love and attention more than anything else but was cast aside for her murderess mother in life and in death. I hope they feel guilt and shame for the rest of their lives.

I also hope other people learn how NOT to be parents from them. Unconditional love does NOT mean lie, cheat, steal, manipulate, and blame it all on someone else to survive. I hate to say it, but THANK GOD Caylee didn't grow in that family to turn out worse than her own mother.

Their constant sense of entitlement, superiority and filtered reality is offensive. Would it have killed them to thank the hoards of people who searched for their granddaughter, the bondsman and team who got their daughter out of jail, the volunteers who gave and gave and gave trying to help them ?
A huge dose of humble sincere appreciation for the assistance they received would have gone a long way.

As they say, sharpar, "no good deed goes unpunished." Just between you, me, and the fence post, I think the they refers to narcissists.

IMO, George and Cindy need to keep their mouths shut and their faces off of Television. They are doing nothing but hurting Casey's defense. It appears to me that that may be what they are trying to do. Am I alone in feeling this way?
Nope you're not alone in feeling this way... and I say let 'em keep on talkin!! :woohoo::woohoo:JMO

Tulessa, I said that aloud one day at my desk watching them on a morning show. They were faking a concern for Casey. They hate her I said to myself. They HATE her every day they walk by that empty room or George gets out Caylee's special Sponge Bob popcorn bowl the baby loved so, when they sit in the backyard and imagine her there playing in her little house, when it is Easter or Halloween or Christmas and there is no pitter patter of her excited running around in her spider man t-shirt, beads, funny costumes, etc. Caylee was the one good good thing that held all their other chaos together in that house. They hate that Casey killed their sun and moon all wrapped up in one. They may never say it aloud, or even realize it.....but all of their actions work against what is best for Casey's case. One does not need a law degree to see that. The only reason I can reconcile their actions in my mind is that subconsciously they hate what she has done, what has been robbed from them, and how it makes them look as parents. The last part is important...how it reflects on them. I will never forget the FBI agent explaining to George his take on Cindy was that it was very, very important to her for Casey to be perceived as having been a good mother, because she was an extension of Cindy and Cindy indeed had been a good mother. Cindy had answered written questions about Casey and had ranked her honest and highly responsible, whereas George had answered the opposite. If you don't believe me that appearances are everything, absolutely everything to them....just ask Uncle Rick.

They needed a yes person to suit these needs and that is one reason Mr. Nejame resigned. He had counseled they should not give interviews, so they simply went around him and gave the interviews behind his back. It isn't like we hoped in the beginning...they are naive. No....they have been informed....and they chose to do it. God bless Mr. Nejame, he reminds me of a modern day Ward Cleaver, always at the ready with the moral compass, right and wrong are never ambiguous. If Casey grew up with that type of person leading her family we would not have the Casey we have in front of us. It is a cautionary tale. Children learn what they live.

You only have to watch Cindy being interviewed by Megyn Kelly at the very beginning of this case to see that she was lying, obnoxious and defensive right from the start- she didn't acquire that attitude from exhaustion, or after dealing with suspicious media - she has to bear a great deal of responsibility for the loathing people feel for Casey. I have mixed feelings as to whether she actually thinks people will swallow her BS or if she just deliberately acts that way to sabotage Casey.
Megyn Kelly certainly had her figured out quickly.

The defense and the Anthonys, both Cindy and George, cannot undo the damage they've done.

Right from the beginning Jose Baez was grandstanding, seeking fame as the attorney for Casey Anthony. Three days after Casey was arrested, Jose Baez did his first interview with Geraldo, with Cindy Anthony at his side, with the interview taking place in the driveway of the Anthony home. Cindy Anthony was offensive and insulted Geraldo to the point that he's never interviewed her again. In that interview, Jose was just along for the ride.

Since that first nationally televised interview, it's been a media circus. Jose never fails to state, "she's innocent" and "everything will be made clear when we get into the courtroom." Yet, the evidence is damning, and he's had many a day in court to make things clear, yet he only delays the proceedings with poorly written motions, and insults the intelligence of the average person by suggesting that someone else murdered Caylee. Not just some nameless person, but he names innocent individuals, who's only involvement is either in knowing Casey or having found Caylee's remains. Jose's tactics are extremely transparent. But the one thing he's made abundantly clear is that he's incompetant to handle a case of this magnitude.

George and Cindy Anthony likewise cannot undo the damage they've done. Their behavior has been obnoxious from the start. They've lied, withheld evidence, tampered with the investigation, and blamed innocent people for Caylee's death. From their first interview with local media to national media interviews they've changed their stories and thrown out irrational excuses for their daughter's behavior. Their lies are obvious.

But additionally, they've displayed violence towards both media and the public, threatening media with a hammer while calling them "leeches", and threatening protesters gathered in front of their house with a hammer and baseball bat. In that situation, they inserted themselves while the wise thing to do would have been to remain inside and call the police to handle the crowd. George had to be restrained from attacking a cameraman at one time. These are the actions of a very unstable family and it's easy to see that Casey's violence may have stemmed from the violence displayed by her parents.

As I said at the beginning of this post, both the defense and the Anthonys cannot undo the damage they've done. If Jose Baez refrained from any media interviews and offered "no comment" from here on out, it doesn't erase all that he's said and done for the past year and a half.

If George and Cindy Anthony refused interviews from here on out, they cannot undo the images the public has of the behavior they've displayed, the statements they've made, the lies they've told, and their arrogance and sense of entitlement. In addition, their greed in making a monetary profit from their granddaughter's death, has left an image that's impossible to erase.
