How ironic that yesterday after escorting Casey home, Jose Baez was late to his court date to defend a client against manslaughter charges, in the death of a 2 year old girl.

Mr. Baez thought the mother of the deceased child exhibited that she was cold for not attending the hearing; and because she didn't even cry on the phone, during her telephonic testimony from Puerto Rico.

I posted about it under the Jose Baez link - here's a link to the thread:

WTG, Mr. Baez! Your words will surely come back to bite you!

Everything about this case makes me sick!

Is today 66 days for Caylee missing?

70 days I think.

I also think this case will soon stop being the headliner on NG and Greta, unless they find a body or new charges or filed, because basically nothing is happening besides rehashing the same old phantom kidnapper rumors day after day. I think the case has reached its peak of interest, and will fade away until something major happens.

Yup, those are some good suggestions too. My husband feels same way about Casey. :furious:

My husband's comments:

1. Neighbors should offer food and charge a fee, at same time, set up a search party, money goes directly from food charges to search teams .... and they eat free.

Search teams go from eating and drinking ... to search. Anthony family sees this, or at least hears it reported from the media, who are the ones eating and paying for this food/search.

2. Cindy, George and Lee walk through that house all day and night, sighing and saying: WHERE is Caylee???!!! Where IS she???? Oh I MISS Caylee .. I can't EAT, I can't SLEEP .. I NEED to hold her, I NEED to see her .. where IS she??

And at meals: Caylee would be sitting here and eating her favorite waffles, cereal, etc. ... and would be SO happy to see her mommy and grandma!

When watching tv: Remember how Caylee use to watch her cartoons, and how much she loved 'blank' .. and would LAUGH and LAUGH .. OH how I MISS her laughter!

Not let up ... as close to non-stop as they could get .. drive her crazy .. and they're NOT asking her questions!

...and don't forget wearing "Find Caylee" shirts all day everyday! I also think they should have coffee mugs, plates, utensils, mouse pads, picture frames, pens, notepads, etc., all emblazoned with Caylee's image or the tip line phone number/website printed on it!

Not that it would do any good...

If you go by the 16th as the last day that she was seen,(George) then it would be 67 days.If I'm counting correctly,LOL.

UNtil this case, I very rarely considered a pot of coffee and a cigarette as a sleep replacement. Now I do it at least once a week. Oh well. I'll live. I am willing to share my coffee if anyone wants any though.

Not My Kids,

Here-Here!
Never underestimate the creative qualities of caffeine.
It's 4:42 A.M. here and I haven't been to bed yet...too busy catching up on posts.
Wonder how it would work if I IV'd my coffee?

Mix a packet of hot cocoa mix into a cup of coffee. Extra sugar and it tastes really good. That is my lifeline.

Leonard HAS had a change of opinion .. or whatever went on at the IHOP.

He went from all gung-ho in talking to her, analyzing her lies, becoming her friend, to not talking to her much at all, bowing out and letting family do the work, and says he's BUSY with business for a few days.

He's coming across as a bit scared, or somehow subdued .... maybe from what he was told by Baez and whomever else was at IHOP. It's as if he's been gagged on what he can now say or do.

I think at the IHOP is when JB told Padilla that Caylee is dead, and this is really about getting Casey off!

Think about it..."gung ho" to "ho hum" in a matter of hours?! I can see his wanting to find Caylee--we all did/do, but I think he was lead to believe the crap the GP were spewing, and now that he knows differently, he really could care less about Casey--especially since she was at minimum partly responsible for her death/disappearance!

Padilla was definitely brought up to speed at that meeting and that took the wind out of his sails--but he's committed himself now, and he's basically SOL.

I think bounty hunters at their core want to see justice done--criminals paying for their crimes--especially those who harm innocent children, while Baez is not about justice, he's about getting people off...innocent or otherwise!

This is why I despise criminal defense attorneys.

If the body was still in the trunk the smell would have been so bad you could smell it for blocks.

If the smell was so strong then it should have been suspicious and been reported by the towing company. I simply can not believe their was such a strong odor because the towing company did not call the LE. That is one thing, death odor, that would be a hugh thing for a company towing an abandoned car.

3 bodies in the trunk for two days, none of the searchers noticed a smell from outside the car. It is stated somewhere that the detective in this case didn't smell it until he sat inside the car and then it was very distinct.

Marks and his colleagues have devised a unit of measurement they call a "degree day." Twenty-four hours at 80 degrees equals one degree day. The outer layer of skin peels off at two degree days. Internal organs are liquefied at seven degree days or more. Limbs turn black at 14 degree days.

The trunk of the car could reach 130 degrees on summer days of approximately 80 degrees. I find the idea of her digging up and moving this body all over the place to be extremely unlikely. Caylee only weighed 30something pounds, the decomposition that would occur between the 16th and the 27th if you are using the amscot date as the final day she moved the body would be extreme.

new link about Dr. Bass and the Body Farm from today's New York Times.

Another promising area of inquiry has to do with the smells emitted by rotting corpses. Jennifer Love, an anthropologist at the Body Farm, has been studying death smells in association with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The goal of the project is to develop techniques to estimate time since death during the early stages of decomposition, specifically targeting the breakdown of soft tissue.

Love thinks her research will transcend the time-of-death question. ''Once we understand the composition of decay odor, we can develop better synthetic sprays to train cadaver-hunting dogs,'' she says. ''Eventually, we can also design hand-held instruments that could potentially sniff out corpses at crime scenes by picking up the aromatic compounds of decay odor.''

He points to a small box that has been suspended above one of the bodies. It's called an electronic nose. Inside it lie 32 sensors that ingest the various malodorous compounds given off by decomposition. These compounds, which have gothic names like cadaverine and putrescine, are collected in a vial and from there fed into a gas chromatograph that identifies them. Since putrefaction follows a predictable cycle, a kind of olfactory time chart can be deduced from these smells, helping law-enforcement officers and forensic experts determine when an unidentified corpse might have met its end. It's all part of establishing a minutely dependable chronicle of death, which may soon make committing the perfect crime a forbidding prospect.

''We can't necessarily identify a corpse with this new research,'' Marks says. ''But we can recover its history, the secret of its death. We can reach back and see how long it's been lying there. Surprisingly, we know very little about death. It's the ultimate mystery, because we never really see it close up. Except here.''

Who would buy it? All of those interested in criminal cases have followed the antics of the Anthony family through the news media. Everyone knows the inconsistencies and outright lies that have been told.

A comic book?

He has done a complete 180- and I personally think he is now leaving allot out. Just don't know why he is acting this way now.

He may think that he has a good lead and if he lays low he will be able to follow it with those pesky LE officers sticking their noses in. Maybe he found a likely looking drug store and he's staking it out.

I remember that someone made a general WS account for Facebook or myspace at one point. I would like to do the same for MyYearbook so that everyone can see what I have been seeing. Does anyone know if we are actually allowed to do that? If it is okay, I will set it up and post the name and password.

Noticed that too!! He appeared very cocky when he initially inserted himself in this case, he would make her talk, they would do this, they would do that, his face, his expressions, his voice ALL LOUD.

Last night I saw him very disappointed, and if I am not wrong he is starting to distance himself from the case...Noticed how he said he would not see Cayse for days since he will be away for business? And he would probably see her at the vigil on Sunday? And how he only got to see her for some split seconds while she was moving from one room to another? Hardly the confidence he showed the first days.

Bringing this over from the last thread:

As do others on the "team". There's been a sudden flurry of posts all over the net trying to implicate the "Grund" family....just sayin....

"Subtle as a trainwreck" comes to mind. These people, oye vey.

You did not read the post I was responding to. That a body was in the car when GA brought it home from the Towing Company. So the body had not been in the car TWO days but close to Thirty Days. Don't try to tell me there would not be a terrible stench that would smelled for blocks.

It would depend what/who you were referencing, when in doubt it is a good idea to PM a mod first.. If known witnesses or active players in this case already mentioned and you only post associated relevant info, you should be ok..

It's Casey's old profile...I think it should be okay...right?
And yes, it is definitely her.
