Unlisted Missing and Unidentified Persons Research

nvm - I've tried to post 2 links and am either getting blocked or it's showing my personal info
This is one of the main reasons for Websleuths having a newspapers.com account. If there’s an article you’d like to clip or share here, let me know and I’ll do it from the WS account. Of course, if you’ve already clipped the article on your personal account, people would be able to see that, so be aware of that. I’m happy to help you in any way!

Why does NaMus reject these MPs?
IMO, and based on experience, it’s because the case being submitted lacks all the necessary information required by NamUs. Mostly, a case number and investigating agency. So many of these cases are very old. The investigators are most times long gone, and there’s no way for us (the general public) to determine who, if anyone, might be investigating the case. Quite probably, there’s no current investigator who has even heard of the case or the file has been lost or destroyed. :(

I wish there were many more hours in a day and I had the time to reach out to more of the agencies. Asking a member of local law enforcement about each case would likely help out a lot!

Registered users of NamUs ARE able to submit persons to be added. You don’t have to be a member of LE or an ME, as long as the case you’re submitting checks all the boxes. <This link is really helpful.>

We are helping others! Even if we are creepy stalkers >.> that's really the way I think about it. Being disabled and tired all the time, I can only work when I have energy, and have no endurance. This is the only interesting way I've found I can help people on my own terms.
I am waiting for full knee replacement surgery in February. So I can only work so long before I need a break and I hit the floor "hopping" ready to get back into researching and not giving up ..

Thanks much!! Some of my stuff on websleuths was posted a year or more ago - I was clipping the articles and saving as pdf files. Anything current does show my personal account info, so I will reach out and ask for you (or someone else) to grab it - thanks!

I only really work on Wisconsin cases now, but I picked a California one to jump into, and strangely enough, it’s a Wisconsin case. Some stories just are so wild I can hardly believe they relate to Wisconsin. But there’s a set of kids raised by their parents while the dad was going to Marquette (Wisc). When the dad graduated, instead of teaching, he decided to go into something else, and the whole family moved to Albuquerque. He worked there the rest of his life. His oldest son told them he was moving to California, but they didn’t hear from him after that. The youngest sister was in a mental health treatment place and joined a suicide pact, at 19. She and others were found dead lying in the cemetery. So a middle sister tries to find the brother to tell him. For years, she put an ad in newspaper in California. But I am about 75% sure he either never went there or didn’t stay long. I think he’s in Wisconsin and alive. Or lately I could be completely wrong. So I’ll recheck it all and make sure, but right now, it’s a Wisc case. Weird case I picked thinking it’d be California and instead it’s here where I am.

There's two Jane Doe's from 1951 which I believe have not been identified. These are from the FBI Law Enforcement bulletins (which from my understanding is public domain, but if not please remove these screenshots).

I’ve got “Ruth” added. Lots of information on her disappearance! I also found a MP who caught my attention (MP545 SMB). I’m still researching her.

I’ll work on the other when I get a chance.

Thanks!!

What about the Deboer brothers and their friend Richard? Last seen in the summer of 1959, I believe there was a LE Report filed a long time ago but all thats left are online newspaper articles.
I think they have a thread here somewhere, not sure if its still up or not.

I checked, not listed with NamUs. I emailed my contact at Madison pd to see if a case was ever opened in the past.

Larson’s parents reported him missing two days later, after his abandoned vehicle was discovered by a conservation officer at the Porkies
This makes me think a case exists somewhere, even if he's not in NAMUS.

No idea of where to post this new to me info., hopefully here is the right spot, but will move elsewhere if advised where to post.

Concerns being raised on cases of missing black youth in the GTA

''Concerns are being raised surrounding cases of youth in the Black community going missing across the GTA. As we hear from CTV's Beth Macdonell, a special virtual meeting was held to address a growing number of social media posts on the issue.''
