My first post!

To start with, have to say I've been lurking for awhile and am so impressed with the sleuthers here!

And thanks right away to Patty G for keeping me up to date on the tv interviews, most of which I don't get here.

Observation re JB...seems to me he is going to get himself in trouble if he keeps going the way he is as he is putting himself in a position where he could easily become a witness in this matter. It is not at all uncommon for desperate people to turn on their lawyers if they think there is something in it for them, and one day in the future, she may allege that she gave him info that would have located Casey, but he wouldn't let her give it to LE...in which case, she presumably would be waiving legal professional privilege and he would have to testify.

Re LE stating last night that they are searching for her alive...I'm not convinced they are, though I hope of course that she is alive....I think they want Casey to start talking again...the more lies she tells, the stronger the case they have, if they want to proceed without a body.

Re my theory of what happened...I think anything is possible....for weeks I was convinced she left Caylee in the car while she was with Tony and Caylee died from the heat etc....now, however, after watching her parents, and her demeanour, I can't help but wonder if there is a lot more evil going on here than I first thought. I felt very sorry for the GPs until 2 nights ago, when I re-watched all their interviews, and I'm convinced that they are not just in denial, but rather they are trying to play the public for fools, are insulting our intelligence, and don't appear to show any emotions consistent with concern for Caylee (as oppposed to Casey).

I don't get why Cindy's so venemous with the media, and I don't think despair alone explain her or George's inconsistencies. Sometimes I think they may have been involved from the beginning (I am not sure that when Casey says "you don't know what my involvement is" to her mom in the phone call, she is merely being indignant...her mom's response is odd too...I think there is a real chance she was saying "of course you know mom".
Welcome to WS! :blowkiss:

I like you already! You seem to have come to the same conclusions I have since Day One.

Hey Panthera! I'm from NC too....and a big Panther fan! Kicked the Redskins, huh?
OK...thats my off-topic moment....

My hope is that this people will be true to their dysfunctional selfs and at one point all h*** will break lose and someone will turn on someone else. She is used to running around and having a lot of freedom to come and go and no one to ask her any questions. She is stuck with mommy and daddy, and she probably has few if any friends left that want to associate with her. The holidays are coming soon and it will be a constant reminder to everyone that Caylee is no longer with them.

Normal people might be able to "hang" but not this group. Something will happen.

Well, whats the use of publicity if you can't deliver on your promise? These guys said they wanted to solve this case..... so "where's the beef?" LOL

Yup, LP got a black eye over this deal.
Wonder what he and GR have been discussing lately? Hmmmmm

I think the pressure is already starting to ease. It's no longer a front page story in a month or two there will be another big case. I'm not being cynical, I'm just saying that people start losing their focus. She may trip up, but is anyone going to be watching anymore?
You're talking about media pressure.

I'm talking about the personal pressure she's under now that she's back in that house with people who want to know what happened to Caylee. There's an RV parked out front full of people who also want to know what happened to the baby, not the least of whom is a bounty hunter who is disgruntled at the roadblocks being placed in the way.

I think the pressure on Casey has ramped up significantly since she's now in a position to have to face a phalanx of people 24/7 - when she was in jail, nobody could get near her.

He wants to believe her. She has a way of being what you want her to be. Ya' know???

I wouldn't count on that...he's not that dumb (though I'm not saying he's that smart either)....he probably knows it is all BS...if you work as a crim defence lawyer you get it alot and have to keep a straight face and do the best you can for your client with what you've got.

He doesn't care if she's innocent or guilty (at least not much)....but you can bet he's getting a serious buzz out of the media exposure he is getting...he's probably dreamed of this. But, also, he's probably also a little concerned of losing clients in the future as even criminals don't like people who harm children, and now he's represented 2 such clients.

All the above is IMO only, of course.

With all due respect, how can we think Casey is a rocket scientist. I mean ~ I left her with Zenaida? I work at Universal? These don't seem to be very well thought out lies. I think that she is accustomed to lying and bullying with no consequences (a la Cindy) and I think that she probably thinks she's very slick and sly. Cindy and George can only stay away for so long. That house is going to explode eventually. I am praying each day that she will slip up and run her mouth.

LP SURELY knew from the start that JB was not going to let her talk to ANYBODY. If you even watch TV shows, you would know that this is what attorneys always tell their clients! LP does not have to keep her conversation priveleged. I think he was or is just hoping for her to slip-up.
Casey maintains she's innocent of any wrongdoing. Why would an innocent person not participate in the search for her baby?

Hi All! (yes another Newbie who has been "lurking" for some time now!) But I've been wondering about that myself. I think LP thought that he would have more access to Casey. IMO he sounded a little miffed on Geraldo last night. What about the female inside with Casey though? Can she report to LP anything that she hears or observes?

WELCOME !
And YES she can report back. They stay in contact 24/7

Ohhhhhhhh, (blushing here) thank you so very much! :blowkiss: WELCOME To The Board!

Personally, I think the only media coverage should go to Caylee herself and to LE. LE is the only people giving reliable info. The rest is just specultation. Stick to the facts: Caylee is missing, her mother lies. Period.

No criminal defense attorney, actively involved in a case, would ever allow their client to speak to anyone in the media. After a trial(s), possibly, but even then due to appeals processes and potential retrials, clients are often isolated from the media. Innocence or guilt is irrelevant as charges have already been filed. It is incumbent upon the criminal defense attorney to control all communications from the defense point-of-view.

Also, regarding LP and the bond money. I don't know what, if anything, he truly believes/believed about this specific case. It does not really matter. LP saw a perfect confluence of events----a true crime case gripping mainstream media across the country, a "National Geographic" television show in need of buzz, & a bail bonds business that could always use "free" p.r. I firmly believe LP's involvement was self-fulfilling---he wins regardless of what happens.

I know Casey's attorney wants to limit her outside contact to zero....but if my child was missing, I'd tell the lawyer to kiss off...I'd be begging for my child.
Having said all that, the fact that Casey is facing charges and has already spend jail-time changes alot. Most moms of missing children start begging from day one....instead Casey spent a month partying and hanging out at clubs. That should say it all....

I believe that LP never expected her to talk directly to him. Look at it this way, would we and Media have given him so much face time if he had just come in and said that he was going to bail her out and leave? Would he be able to give Geraldo interviews that would give him as much attention?

I should also add, I think LE has much more than we know about....they are privy to phone records and many interviews that we are not privy to. I bet they have lots of inconsistencies to investigate re witness statements as well. And, my guess is, and I almost hate posting this, that they installed listening devices in the Anthony's vehicles, home, and phone lines weeks ago. I'm sure they have some interesting conversations between George and Cindy recorded by now. They clearly treated them differently to your normal witnesses after their first inconsistencies, as it appears they were interviewed by way of recorded video (in my experience not the usual way you take a statement from an uninvolved witness...at least where I come from, which is not the USA).

Again, all the above, is IMO only.

"It's not front page news on any of the news stations in Orlando anymore and I could hardly find it today in the Orlando Sentinel.com
"

Unless something big breaks on this (body found, new charges), I think politics will take over most of the talking heads shows.

I agree. Sadly, I think the media attention on this case will go the same way as Natalee Holloway, Little Madeline, Trenton Duckett and all the missing persons out there, very soon.

IMHO All you have to do is look at the person beside Padilla in the interview last night in front of the Anthonys'... to find where Padilla is getting his information.
I'm trying to remember who was next to him with so many shows he's been on! :D Was it his nephew?

If LP is throwing these peoples names out without some kind of inside info then really what sets him apart from us and the media?
