Trying to think outside the box as usual........
Who knew DB didn't have a land line?
Who in the current list of characters lives within a 1/3 mile radius of the B/I home?
Who is known to hang in that area?
Who doesn't have a solid alibi for those times?

For some reason many think it could only be DB, from the list of questions above it could be a multitude of players in this case.

I thought they could receive incoming calls.

Just got a feeling LE knows ALOT more about the phones than we've heard.

According to what was said on FXN today, all phone service was discontinued by Verizon that evening. However the internet may have been accessed on the phone.

Well, he wasn't able to let her know he'd be late, because although he tried to call, their phone was restricted and it went to verizon message.

Your comment just triggered something in my brain; there has been comments about Jeremy's demeanor in the first days of Lisa's abduction. I think it is largely guilt; as the provider for the family, the fact that his family had no line to the outside world or he to them must weigh heavily on him. For a few dollars, his baby girl is gone.

Did they change the info from earlier today then? Because the attorney said the were restricted that evening/afternoon but could still receive calls?

BRILLIANT! Thank you. :great:

"This phone problem that they had was when the phones were cut off and could only recieve incoming phone calls and incoming texts from early in the afternoon. She recieved a uh, her husband, uh not her husband, her fiance Jeremy tried to contact her early in the evening to tell her that he was going to be late coming home, it went direct to the verizon message, stating that the phone is not operable. "

This statement is a problem to me because it suggests that Jeremy was calling from his personal phone that couldn't make outgoing calls because of unpaid bill. If he had called from the work phone (which I think is probably on a different payment plan) DB should have been able to receive the incoming call and Jeremy wouldn't have been routed to Verizon. But his personal phone was supposedly on the counter being stolen.

That makes a lot of sense to me. My dh had a work phone, and they were asked not to use it for personal calls because his employer paid for a specific number of minutes monthly for the company as a whole. Of course I have no idea if JI's employer had such a policy or any policey at all. Is it known if JI's work at Starbucks was through his regular employer, or if it was a side job?

Customers do have access to all their own phone records. They have to request it in writing. Federal law requires companies to provide customers their own records. I know because I have done it.

Link, please.

No, he meant they could receive calls in the early afternoon but service was cut off early evening. See post 57. He jumbled his words.

I'm not going to look up Fed law at this late hour but I can promise you I have done it. Customers are entitled to their own records. I was involved in a small civil case a few years ago and had to retain an attorney. I needed insurance and phone records. The insurance co initially refused to give me the records because they had hand written notes on them and were afraid of being sued. My attorney had me send a written request to the phone and insurance stating the fed law. I received all my records shortly thereafter. You probably can google it.

Phone companies have records such as what LE obtained for the "ping" info and that is only available via subpoena. This has been brought up in countless trials. If the attorneys in this case has ALL the records, as you claim, there would have been no need to meet with LE.

Okay MW said everyone used her phone, that it was kind of a community phone, but Dane said that's not true, everybody had their own phone. When did everybody get their own phones? Do they look anything like the missing cell phones?

So you believe the 1/3 mile from the home? Deb said it wasn't possible because her phone had been restricted.

Do I believe LE told her her phone pinged in an area 1/3 mile from the house? Possibly. I thought she said both, that a call could not have been completed because the phone was restricted and she was sleeping.

Are there cell phone records for the missing phones and do they tell us anything?

Okay here are my beliefs and knowledge concerning cell phone records, restricted phones, and internet usage.

You can request in writing a copy of your phone records. However, that data does not usually show ping data, nor does it always show inernet usage, text messages, media messages, or messenger usage. My oldest daughter is a tech specialist for a major cell phone carrier (not Verizon). And in addition, I just had to request my own records in order to get the actual number of a phone stalker who was calling me from a private number. The records showed me all incoming and outgoing calls and phone numbers, the time and duration of the calls and that was it. No other data, no internet, no text, no pings, no messenger usage whatsoever.

For most cell phone carriers if your phone is off you also cannot use the internet unless you are using WIFI. That is you are using a wireless open/public connection to the internet. You would have to turn on your WIFI in order to make this work. As it is not set to "on" in most cases. I always leave mine set to "off" otherwise my battery goes down quickly. I can however access the internet through the phones data card when WIFI is off, as long as I have active cell phone service.

Finally- if the phone did access the internet, whether it be through WIFI or through a data card with active cell phone service then that internet usage would still be on the phone. When on the internet, the phone operates as a mini computer, and all internet data is stored on it just as if it were a computer. Deleting it does not make it go away completely, just like on a computer.

The above info is my opinion based on the fact that I was a techie in a former profession, before real estate entranced and bewitched me into its snare ;) .

Hope this helps someone and makes sense.... lol

something to keep in mind with these cellphones, i'm sure this has been brought up before but just sayin:

which cell phone was DB's SIM card in? the borrowed phone, or DB's regular phone? just another piece of the puzzle we need clarification on.

snip, and BBM

Tx for the info!

Atty said it couldn't be determined by cell phone data if the (5) internet attempts were successful, or what sites..etc

But, if internet hx remains on the phone itself, sure makes for a compelling reason the LE would really want to get their hands those phones.

BBM

Can any phone other than a smart phone access the internet? With all of the different kinds of phones out there I really have no idea about this. :waitasec:

I had an old $30 prepaid that I put my sim card in when my phone broke. I could access internet, however a real pain in the hiney. :twocents:

That beltway is the first thing that caught my eye. JMHO good place to bury a body. JMHO

do we know if that encompasses:
the waffle house?
JB's parent's home where he purportedly was staying?
MW's residence (aka flop house)?

TIA
