Just some ideas on why this is true to a degree but we also
have her. And I have asked myself if I am wrong to give any attention to someone who I wouldn't give the time of day to in real life. (Knowing what I know about Cindy from her own mouth and actions) so I understand asking what is the big deal. I am not so much responding to this post as using it to jump off to give thoughts that occurred to me after reading it.
Cindy is not the only narcissist out there to follow, but this is the only case
I follow like this. I do not watch the news, I do not read magazines or newspapers. I have a strong dislike for celebrities and celebrity news. I stay away from all these things. I read books and watch documentaries...and read at Websleuths. :blowkiss:
What is done is done in this case. All that Casey, Cindy, George and Lee have done is on hold till the trial. Cindy still garners the type of "power" she does for attention because we are waiting for this trial. Once the trial is over, she will "go away", everyone eventually goes away...thank goodness.
My understanding is most cases don't take so long to go to trial. Which came first the media or the followers? The media are the ones who report on this case, big news and Cindy news. Some say they wouldn't report on these things if people didn't want to know, so it is "our" fault news like "shoes" is reported. I think its symbiotic. I always think
having information is better but there are many things I do think the media wastes its time on reporting when there are much more worthy stories...people aren't really given the chance to choose. Although, with the internet being as common in the world as television I see that changing.
Some people(especially at WS)follow this case not because of the need to glare at an accident or revel in soap opera details, but because someone needs to be watching. Watching out for people like the Anthonys. They could go unchecked in a society that on the surface values money over deeper values. Watching out to see that justice is done. While most believe justice is a universal domain, we know that this is our world and we all create it together.
Cindy's behavior has been extraordinary. She and George believe after they have betrayed Caylee, they are somehow going to move on and be advocates for victims. There are many people on WS, myself included who consider themselves survivors of abuse, and speaking only for myself I am waiting to see what happens to these very abusive people. Waiting to see what society does about their behavior. And it is not appreciated nor wanted for emotional reasons, people who could not advocate for their own granddaughter to be connected to other children.
Rule number one of abuse advocates/survivors: we do not allow abusers around children. I personally do not wish to see people who I believe to be abusive abusers to have any connection to children. I think people will donate even more to this latest charity, the stories that bend it to seem like people are going to abandon the children is unfair, imo because those that care
always care. Nothing Cindy can do will or could stop that.
Casey is far from the first mother to murder her child. Cindy is far from the first grandmother who sided with her abusive child over and grandchild. Many people know the secret of "good families", and the Anthonys are that secret exposed for all to see. Caylee
did die for a reason, and that reason is because the sickness in her family was so bad, that she got killed by her family. And, Cindy Anthony has never felt or shown one bit of caring for her own granddaughter Caylee Marie or what happened to her. Cindy is still defending her murderer, while denying her murder. Cindy has made money off the death of her granddaughter and seems to be looking to make more, in some people's opinions.
These children Cindy is saying she wants to help are not less fortunate than her own granddaughter who is not alive to need a pair of shoes. Those children are not less fortunate, as they have people who do care about them at least enough to keep them alive. Cindy and George want to make a living off of victims, innocent people. They want more than a living, they want "la bella vita", imo.
It's a catch 22, by paying Cindy attention now...it is in a way ensuring that she is not around forever to take advantage of other children/people like she has Caylee Marie. If Cindy went to work on an oil rig in the desert, I doubt anyone would be emailing or calling to protest. The nerve of Cindy to wish to portray herself as a person who cares about the innocent was too much for many people to take. I don't blame them.
Cindy donating some shoes is not child abuse, per se but she cannot be allowed to continue to have connections to and contact with true victims of abuse and their advocates.
