no disrepect meant but I'm sure OCSO/FBI has already considered all reasonable explanations for how it got there and found nothing simple could explain it away

None taken. On a learning curve about evidence.

I've never liked the fact that Moms use anything, including Benadryl, to put their kids to sleep, especially for the parent's convenience. But I hear it all the time!

I'm in psych now, and over the past 35 years as a nurse, I've worked in a Children's Hospital ER (trauma and walk-in), on a peds medical floor, in Labor/Delivery, and several walk-in clinics.
During this time, I've seen Benadryl used for so many different things...
insomnia (sleeplessness), allergic reactions, with-drawal symptoms, itching, anxiety, cold/allergy symptoms, etc.

Benadryl has always been my "miracle med" because it has so many uses, is non-addicting, is fast-acting,
and can now be obtained "over the counter". (In the "olden days", it was by 'script only.)

BUT... if used on a daily/regular basis, one can build up a tolerance for it.
(It will eventually take higher doses to be effective).

AND... Benadryl can have a reverse effect on some patients.
The patient becomes more restless, more awake, jittery, hyper-verbal, paranoid, manic, etc.
At that time, no amount of Benadryl would be effective.

I've seen many times where tolerance or a reverse effect developed and the Mother overdosed her child...
or worse, used something much stronger to put her child to sleep.

Because Casey seemed so desperate (the phone calls) and continued to go out and party (the photos)...
I could definitely see her trying anything to get Caylee to calm down and/or go to sleep, thus overdosing her.

while you were a nurse, did you ever see/hear about anyone using chloroform?

Ew, I just had this thought that what if a guy used chloroform on Casey and raped her while she was watching Caylee. Then an accident happens with Caylee and she dies while Casey is knocked out and the rapist tells Casey (when she wakes up) he will kill her if she tells anyone about him. Then it's Casey's job to get rid of the body.

This would explain why the smell of chloroform in the trunk (on Casey's clothes). Because I don't see her using it on Caylee. I just can't see her murdering Caylee. I think her death was an accident.

IMO, this is a little far-fetched. good for a movie, but unlikely to happen in real life.

this woman is a classic sociopath - she lies, cheats, and steals her way thru life. I don't know why we're having such a hard time wrapping our heads around the fact that mothers DO kill their children.

After doing some research, I found out that Chloroform is used in swimming pools to keep the water clean. Maybe Caylee drowned and when Casey put her body in the trunk, her bodily fluids containing Chloroform from the pool, leaked out into the trunk. Just a thought, though that doesn't explain the internet searches found on the computer. :waitasec:

That's chlorine, not chloroform. Chloroform wouldn't be used in pools. It's not even legal to buy chloroform except under certain conditions, as it's a carcinogen and is a fairly dangerous chemical.

that's why I'm having trouble wrapping my head around her using it to put Caylee to sleep so she could go party. why go to all the trouble to obtain an illegal substance? why not just give her Benadryl, which you can buy at the local CVS for $5?

The Chloroform came from 1 of 3 people, and not from some guy who raped Casey. Sites were found on the Casey's computer, and that gives 3 people access, 4 if you count Lee, but I'm not counting. It seems safe to assume that Casey was the one using the Cholorform.

I am starting to wonder now if Casey hadn't already threatened to do something to Caylee or tell her parents they would never see her again unless she got what she wanted, etc. This may explain why Cindy and Geroge are now going to great lenghs to protect her. I think they knew right away when they smelled that trunk what had happened and now feel somewhat responsible. Otherwise why wouldn't they go to great lengths to search for Caylee if they really thought she was alive?

This my 2 cents....
D.B.C Entertainment Productions is a *advertiser censored*/Thiller type movies that are being sold and viewed on YouTube. D.B.C stands for Dead Boys Club. Go to YouTube.com and search DBC Entertainment. A video of a satin type cross will come up, burning etc. Watch this video. Search their site and look at the movies that they produce and sell. There are videos of semi-nude women with women and men with men-bisexual hardcore videos of people in pain. Neuses are being used, torturing people while the camera is running(almost like reality based with pain on their faces) This is SO SICK!!! Do not let your kids see these videos.
They are probably all high, on Crank induced psycho trips that they actually enjoy this in their fantasy worlds. This company runs all over the USA and has several locations. (I also heard that there is a Universal Entertainment..which is also *advertiser censored*) Maybe she worked at this Universal.
I believe that the Chloraform has been used in these movies, as well as other things.
I also believe that Casey was in need of money and would probably want to become a superstar(as we all have seen her in her best photo props) She is in search of the spotlight, and I think that Caylee was in her way. I think that Ricardo is the MAIN guy...I think he holds alot of INfo for the police. I think that someone posted something about one of her friends address was at the Sawgrass Apts. Thats were the Next film was filmed/or about to be filmed. I think that Ricardo was anti-children. The Apt. that Cindy dragged Casey out of the day she called 911 was the Crank house. The day she got arrested(1st time) SHE WAS WIRED!!!! she stated that she has not slept in 4 DAYS...(searching for caylee)only people on Meth can stay up for 4 days. When you have NO SLEEP FOR 4 DAYS, you WILL hallucinate!! See things that aren't there..
Look at her smiling when she goes to jail the first time in her jersey shirt with the # on it. She is SO HIGH, just a smiling.
I believe that she forgot about caylee. I think that she was high, and forgot about her. Maybe she was swimming, in the hot car, what ever. When you are on METH-Time flys by. You are unaware of things. Where Caylees Body is, not sure. Could be anywhere at this point. But 3 of us will be there at the station by 8:00am helping with this search.
I am searching for justice for this baby, Caylee

while I don't agree with your theory on Caylee's death, I do think that the DBC Entertainment stuff is a very interesting, though disturbing, link. thanks for posting this info, gumshoe!

I agree FC. I think it was used for the sole purpose of killing the child.

Let me add, that my theory still stands that Casey a Sociopath, knowingly and purposely murdered her daughter. Whatever happened between Casey and her parents forced Casey into making the decision that she no longer wanted to care for Caylee and that the parents were going to care for her either. She eliminated the problem.

Ew. I just googled "chloroform cults," and I can't bring myself to navigate a web site I found past its warning page.

Benadryl doesn't always induce sleepiness. It can have the opposite effect on some children causing excitability or hyperness.

but still...its difficult to obtain, and she's not that bright, despite what she thinks. cunning, yes, but not that sophisticated. at least not criminally sophisticated - she did steal a checkbook and then supply the cashier with her own drivers license. and I don't really see her sitting at home reading Agatha Christie novels. its just so out of left field. I also don't see her being like, "hey Ricardo, you know that stuff you use to knock chicks out in your rape *advertiser censored*? can I borrow some? I can't get Caylee to sleep". JMO.

I think KC probably starting resenting Caylee before she took her first breath. That resentment grew as Caylee began to interfer with her life-style. It didn't help that Caylee was also at that trying age where she had to be watched constantly. Factor in the alcohol and possible drug abuse....not to mention the constant pressure from Cindy.

It's highly possible KC lost it, releasing all the pent up resentment on Caylee...fatally injuring her.

I tend to lean more on this happening than KC overdosing Caylee on chloroform.

while you were a nurse, did you ever see/hear about anyone using chloroform?

Never! I have never seen chloroform used in a hospital setting of any kind and I've been a nurse since 1971.
Since 1982, I've been a psych nurse. During this time, I've worked on the In-patient Psych Intensive Care Units
and on the In-patient Substance Abuse/Detox/Drug & Alcohol Rehab Units.
I've been a Nurse Case-Manager (Out-patient Dept) and I've worked the Psychiatric Crisis Center.

Never, ever have I heard chloroform used as a recreational/party drug. I've never heard it mentioned that a patient tried it, was addicted to it, used it as their drug of choice, or was accidently/deliberately given it as a date-rape drug or otherwise.

In fact, Chloroform has never been mentioned in any of the places I've worked, nor, IIRC, in Nursing School!
That doesn't mean it isn't being used. It just seems to be unheard of where I work. Several of us were discussing chloroform and the Caylee A. Case this morning. Actually, we seem to be discussing the case every mornming!

Chloroform is used to make meth.

Casey had no job.

Maybe Caylee was begininning to talk and Casey was afraid Caylee would give away some sort of illegal activity Casey was engaged in, whether at a meth lab or some other illegal goings-ons.

From this child speech development site:

http://www.childdevelopmentinfo.com/development/language_development.shtml

Child speech development at age three:
Use pronouns I, you, me correctly
Is using some plurals and past tenses
Knows at least three prepositions, usually in, on, under
Knows chief parts of body and should be able to indicate these if not name
Handles three word sentences easily
Has in the neighborhood of 900-1000 words
About 90% of what child says should be intelligible
Verbs begin to predominate
Understands most simple questions dealing with his environment and activities
Relates his experiences so that they can be followed with reason
Able to reason out such questions as "what must you do when you are sleepy, hungry, cool, or thirsty?"
Should be able to give his sex, name, age
Should not be expected to answer all questions even though he understands what is expected

Fox News just reported that the websites that were searched by CA's computer were sites dealing with what chloroform is and how it is used. This was Live on Shephard Smith's show.

HI Peace. Did you ever see Cider House Rules? It's pretty old school I think, but probably making a comeback.

I found an interesting bit of info about chloroform and I'm not sure if it's been discussed here yet.

Chloroform is used for DNA isolation. I spoke to someone who actually works with it for these purposes and she said if it was used in the trunk, it would definitely still be there. Could that be why there is chloroform in the trunk?

Just a thought.

Phenol-chloroform extraction is a liquid-liquid extraction technique in biochemistry and molecular biology for isolating DNA, RNA and protein. where equal volumes of a phenol:chloroform mixture and the aqueous sample are mixed, forming a biphasic mixture.
