Looks like Dominguez might have plead guilty to the murder charge of Martinez as I see a sentencing date for him (above).
Interesting -- I don't think I've seen any articles of substance since the preliminary hearing in Aug 2021. At that time, I think Dominguez was the only defendant of the four that was out on bond. He'd also not been charged with murder at that time -- only tampering with evidence.

ETA: I'm not sure of the report that one of the defendants was out on bond. The PH was pushed out to August 2021 after a motion for a continuance. At that motions hearing in a packed courtroom which the defendants attended via WebEx, they were all in Alamosa jail except for Ramirez detained by the feds elsewhere.

Judge Gonzales mentioned this was “the second or third” continuance that had been granted in the case and indicated that, even though he allowed for the additional postponement, it was going to be the last one that he granted.

During the proceedings, Fred Johnson, special prosecutor for the state, described the case as “massive”, stating there will be upwards of 50,000 documents and a collection of interviews included in discovery.

That description was backed up by even the optics of the proceedings.

Conducted virtually, three of the four defendants were present: Adre Baroz, Julius Baroz and CJ Dominguez, all appearing virtually from where they are currently being held in the Alamosa County Jail. Their defense attorneys, some accompanied by assistants and co-counsel, were also present – David Lipka for Adre Baroz, Phil DuBois for Julius Baroz and Sam Weihman for CJ Dominguez. DA Alonzo Payne was also sitting in, as well as interested members of the public, making for a very full house, even though it was all online.

Francisco Ramirez, the fourth defendant charged in connection with the case, is being held in a separate detention facility and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on a separate date than the others.

8/6/21

The multiple serious crimes the four defendants are accused of committing led to a significant presence of law enforcement officials in the courtroom, as well. When one of the defense attorneys protested the defendants in custody being shackled even “with so many armed officers in the room”, Gonzales indicated it was a precautionary measure. “We’re not going to take any chances,” Gonzales said. After several hours had passed without any incident, Gonzales relaxed his ruling and the shackles were removed but the deputies and police officers remained, standing against the wall in close proximity to the four defendants, three of whom remain in custody and one who is out on bond.

[..]

The case is enormous.

It involves the murder of five people, all of which took place at different times over the course of roughly two months and involves at least four different locations spread out over two counties, contains more than 50,000 pages of documents with more likely to be included, lengthy statements from two confidential informants plus statements – both direct and indirect – from at least a dozen individuals, lengthy interviews conducted by the Alamosa Police Department, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, multiple search warrants, collection of multiple pieces of evidence including parts of bones, analysis from a specially trained forensic anthropologist and a forensic odontologist. And, as the investigation is ongoing, there is likely more to come.

[..]

When both the prosecution and defense had completed their questioning and summarized why the defendants should – or should not – be charged with the crimes of which they’re accused, Judge Gonzales addressed each count each defendant was facing, which, collectively, totaled an estimated 24 felonies.

The ruling took Gonzales approximately an hour to read, including citing the evidence he considered in making his ruling. Ultimately, he ruled in favor of the prosecution, stating the standards for probable cause had been met and sufficient evidence had been presented to uphold the charges.

Adre Baroz is formally charged with a total of 13 felonies, including five counts of murder in the first degree related to the deaths of Korina Arroyo, Selena Esquibel, Myron Martinez, Zeven Garcia and Shayla Hammill.

Julius Baroz is formally charged with, among other felonies, one count of murder in the first degree.

Francisco Ramirez is formally charged with, among other felonies, tampering with evidence and three counts of accessory to a crime.

In the case of CJ Dominguez, he is formally charged with tampering with evidence. However, Special Prosecutor Johnson indicated that additional charges of murder may be filed against Dominguez as the investigation in his involvement is ongoing.

@Niner -- I'm unclear about CJ Dominguez. I know when he was arrested in Jan 2021, he was charged as follows:

Baroz and Dominguez are currently only charged in the Martinez case. Baroz, of Alamosa, faces charges of first-degree murder and tampering with deceased human remains. Dominguez, also of Alamosa, is charged with tampering, second-degree kidnapping, and accessory to first-degree murder. Both men are being held in the Alamosa County Detention Center.

However, at the conclusion of his joint preliminary hearing with the other 3 defendants, I understood from the article posted above that there was only probable cause for tampering with evidence in Martinez's murder.

Am I missing additional charges since Aug 2021?

Here is what I have for Dominguez:

with accessory to 1st degree murder, 2nd degree kidnapping & tampering with deceased human remains.

Looks like only accessory to 1st degree murder.

Maybe the DA gave him a plea deal - I do not know - as I can not find anything on Colorado court site about individual people.

Thanks, @Niner.
That makes sense for his 2021 case number. DA probably needs him to testify against the others. It's undisputed that CJD showed up after the murders and allegedly helped with the disposal.

I don't remember the charges filed in 2022 (different case number).

I just hope all these men never see freedom again!

Saw these today. Advancement of Baroz plea postponed to January

From the Dec 19, 2022 link:

Dominguez, 29, was charged with tampering with deceased human remains, a class three felony, accessory to murder in the first degree, a class four felony, and second-degree kidnapping, also a class four felony.

As was presented by counsel for the defense, Dominguez pled guilty to the charge of tampering with deceased human remains. As part of the resolution agreement, the remaining two charges will be dismissed.

Also included in the resolution agreement, seven other cases pending against Dominguez will be dismissed. Six of those seven cases were filed in Alamosa with the seventh filed in Conejos County. Allegations in those dismissed pending cases include traffic violations, violation of bail bond conditions, the violation of a protection order and the burglary of a dwelling.

[..]

By pleading guilty to the charge of tampering with deceased human remains, Dominguez will not be a co-defendant in the case that has been filed against Adre Baroz, Julius Baroz and Francisco Ramirez, generally referred to as “Los Sauces murders.”

As part of the proceedings, Judge Gonzales read aloud the charge to which Dominguez pleaded guilty. Paraphrased, the charge states that between and including Oct. 7, 2020, and Nov. 13, 2020, Dominguez unlawfully and willfully destroyed parts of Martinez’s body with the intent to impair the availability of the remains to be used in judicial proceedings.

As Judge Gonzales then explained, a class three felony will subject Dominguez to a sentence ranging from 4-12 years in the Department of Corrections or placement in Community Corrections (instead of DOC) for the same period.

[..]

A sentencing hearing was set for Feb. 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m.

28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m.
so he could get 4-12 years but he might get felony probation? jeesh.

is he cooperating though? i would be afraid to w these ppl for sure

According to the informant, CJD was one of the least offenders in the group. CJD lived in Capulin and was a friend of Psycho's brother, Julian.

After Psycho and his posse needed additional equipment, they drove to Capulin and borrowed CJD's truck to haul the body parts belonging to victim Martinez. CJD supplied the plastic bags and his truck.

I think CJD was the only offender that initially made bail. I think Julian looked after CJD because every group needs somebody loyal on the outside.

I dunno -- somebody at war with Psycho could exact revenge on CJD so he might be safer inside with his homies. MOO
