Well - it looks like Julius "might" have plead guilty to tampering charge, as the court site has deleted the trial dates of 7/5 & 7/6 for this charge.

I'm only coming up with 2021 articles - so if anyone local or even in the U.S. can find something - it would be appreciated! TIA! :)

I haven't seen much of anything on any of them locally. I honestly find out more on here than I do in the local papers or anywhere else. Sorry, I'm sure that's not much help I wish I had more. At first it seemed like everyone was eager to get it out and bring attention to the case, and then once they had them in custody, I haven't heard much of anything about any of them.

Thank you for checking anyway! Maybe there will be something after the hearings tomorrow for all of them.

I'm behind @Niner and must have missed there was a change of venue for three victims-- that would be the only reason the hearing moved to Pueblo for Conejos County murders. Also, I know that Adre B has been rotated in and out of Pueblo County Jail but that has to do with security, gang control, and not venue. Same with Ramirez.

Do you know "how" to find out what a case # charge is?

@Niner -- I don't recognize Case # prefaced with "D51" to be a criminal matter. Perhaps this could be a divorce or dependent issue? I think it's safe to say unless this case number correlates with the murder charges/case # you're currently tracking, it's not relevant.

ETA: I also searched the docket for 6 months for Adre Baroz and this case# and only 7/18/22 shows up. I think this must be an initial if not one-time hearing.

I thought the "CR" in the case # was for Criminal.

Okay - if you don't think it is part of his murders of the other 3 - I will forgo this hearing than.
And thank you for looking this up! :)

Whatever it is we know that the Pueblo County charge was filed in 2022 versus 2020-21 for the murders under this thread. :)

We have an update!!! And I just have to say imo sickening!!!! Baroz enters plea of not guilty by reason of insanity in Los Sauces murders
Thanks, @Non81090!

We are obviously in for a very long delay. Surprised AB's defense attorney went straight for the insanity plea after all this time -- never once hinted at his client's competency. That alone tells me one or both (attorney or client) are desperate for a break. JMO.

From the link:

7/9/22

[..]

With a plea of Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, and should the psychiatric evaluation indicate that Baroz was not sane at the time he allegedly committed the crimes, the responsibilities in prosecution of the case will expand, even more.

Fred Johnson, Chief Trial Deputy DA with the DA’s office in the 20th Judicial District who was assigned as special prosecutor to the case, will be required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Baroz committed the crime. But, according to state law, he will also have to disprove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was sane at the time.

Forty-six states currently allow insanity pleas. Of those 46, eleven states – including Colorado – place the burden of proof on the state to prove a defendant was sane versus that burden resting with the defense to prove he was not.

Given the size and complexity of the case, the multiple motions that have been filed as the case has progressed plus the systemic delays that are often a part of the psychiatric evaluation process – especially related to a Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity plea in a case involving alleged multiple murders over two months - it is difficult for even attorneys familiar with the process to predict how long this case might last before coming to resolution.

All that is known at this time is that the next hearing, scheduled as a “status” hearing, is on the docket for about eleven weeks from now.

In the meantime, Adre Baroz has been transferred from the Alamosa Detention Center but where he is currently being held is not known. The Valley Courier reached out via email to his attorney, David Lipka, with that question, but no response was received prior to this story going to press.
