So the defense will sleep on this and by morning it will be that MR gave investigators Dylan's old fishing pole -- not the latest and greatest, favorite pole that MR bought for Dylan because MR was such a generous, exceptional father to Dylan. Nope, that one is still missing.:rolleyes:

MOO
Yep Father of the year. I know Cory testified that fishing was not one of Dylan’s favorite past times like MR made it out to be and I believe it because by all accounts he was very outgoing and into hanging with his friends and team sports. Not saying a 13 year old can’t enjoy a solitary past time like fishing, but why would he hike 8 or 9 miles alone to go fish when he had friends in the area that he couldn’t wait to see? It defies belief. I saw an old interview with Elaine and she was talking about an interview that Mark did where he said that Dylan liked watching Nickelodeon and she said NO he doesn’t, he likes MTV ! That man doesn’t even know him.
I pray this Jury makes the only just verdict here.

I've followed this case since day 1, and I believe Mark is 100% guilty. That said, I'm trying to watch the trial as objectively as possible, as a juror might see it. It's been very interesting and informative so far.

I found the blood and DNA evidence not nearly as convincing as I originally thought it would be. The diaper photos were discovered quite a while before the Thanksgiving visit and Mark had been confronted with them months earlier (at least by Cory), so there might be some doubt as to how incendiary they were.

Where Mark's case has really taken a left turn for me is their whole story that Dylan got up in the morning, hiked 8 miles up a mountain by himself, without texting anyone, with his backpack and all his clothes, and was then attacked by a bear or mountain lion. It's been very clearly established that he was not an avid hunter/fisherman/hiker/outdoorsman, and his #1 priority during this trip was to spend time with his friends whom he had been texting constantly. His texts abruptly stopped early the night before. His backpack was not found with his remains. Mark was seen on the mountain in the area his remains were found. Today's expert testified that all the bears in that area hibernate before his supposed hike in late November. His skull would not have been carried by an animal to the place it was found. The story doesn't even begin to hold up and is not credible at all.

They would have done much better by simply saying they don't know what happened to him. They're really making their own case against themselves at this point.

Trial continues on 7/1/21. The State will be done by next Tuesday, 7/6 or Wednesday, 7/7.

@Niner you have Daniel Foster as the wildlife expert…he is the guy who found the skull with his wife. Dr Heather Johnson is the wildlife expert.

I know, it must have gotten a little confusing.

Thank you for all your hard work keeping this up!

So Mark threw away photos from Dylan aged between 11-13 this is for me is a good indication of when their relationship broke down.
I find it hard to believe they ever even had a relationship in any normal sense. I get vibes of Fred West off this guy, are we sure there aren't more bodies up there in the mountains?

Yes! Thank you, @Niner ! The confusion would be easy to understand, as during the trial Mr Foster was treated by the defense during cross as an expert witness in wildlife. Because he, of the " I like music and super-heroes" liked nature also.

His time on the stand was relatively short, but the drama regarding his testifying beforehand was what may have lead to the confusion. He was out in the hall, waiting to be called, and threatening to leave.

Yes - it was a bit confusion at that point - well darn - it's too late for me to change the post - maybe I'll make a note for today's stuff re Foster. I'll do that. Otherwise the previous day gets deleted from my stuff.

Threatening to leave??!! I guess the Judge set him straight.

Okay - I need MORE commentary on what's going on with the trial - please! :D
I am tagging your posts on the commentary since there are no tweets - which is quite surprising to me - that no one is covering this trial!
TIA!

Drayton Harrison is a wildlife expert who added more information about animals in the area that Dylan's remains were found.

Bears may move a kill but not far. Maybe 50-100 yards max. Cougars may move a kill 100-200 yards.

Coyotes may move a piece but not far 1/4 to 1/2 mile max.

He gave the statistics for bears killing humans in Colorado as four, cougars at three and coyote's as zero. Very rare occurrence.

He testified that an animal would not carry a skull over the steep vertical climb and rough terrain were Dylan's was found. An animal would not carry a backpack away from a kill site.

Anyone have more information on this incident?

It's about time you showed up.

The problem I had with Mark's statement was that he made it without hesitation. He didn't say "let me check to see if I can find something of Dylan's here". He said there's nothing here as soon as he was asked about possible scent articles.
He was probably terrified a bloodhound would actually find Dylan's body and he couldn't have that.
