I don't see an issue if he bought Dylan a fishing pole on Sunday as that would explain why he says he noticed it was gone.

I think thats the exact reason he said it was missing! Because he just bought it!

JMO

What if they have a fight in the truck!
MR stops the truck and tells Dylan to get out tosses all his stuff out and the fishing pole he just bought (If he bought one ) lol. then speeds off leaving his son there on the road...
A few mins pass he goes back Dylan wont get back in the truck and it gets physical.

Just a thought!

I think MR bought A fishing pole that evening in Walmart and its missing along with his son.

But MR has never stated it was a new pole tho , right?

or did i miss this as i was not around at the beginning .

Heck if my son went missing I wouldnt know a fishing pole was missing unless i Had just purchased it!

Ya dont say hey wait a min let me go see if all our fishing poles are here!

No way jose!

He didnt say it was an old pole either!

How would he know a fishing pole was missing?

Okay, assuming MR is guilty, I could see him bringing up the fishing pole if he knew it would be on video, and now missing, I guess. But I think he would have said outright he had just bought it for Dylan, to show he was buying him gifts, etc. perhaps.

I agree 100%

He could of easily of said Dylan was so excited by his new fishing pole he decided to not wait for him to come home and went off fishing by himself.

IMO

But MR hasn't said that....Yet

I don't really care what they bought (unless it was a hammer, tarps, etc), I want to see MR and his interaction with Dylan.

I'm not sure there ever was a fishing pole. Might have just been smoke 'n mirrors, hey look over there.

It didn't really do the picture any justice.

I wonder if the reasoning for not releasing the whole video of the Walmart trip (parking lot, entering the store, while in the store, exiting the store and going to truck) is because it may be possible evidence in the case once Dylan is found? :what:

Why would they not be considering other scenerios such as a change in hair colour.

There is a possibility that the colour and/or length of his hair could of been changed, (thinking along the lines of age progression photos).

If it was me, I would be putting my talents in this direction, rather than trying to enhance a photo already released, especially when I know that LE has seen more than the one still shot of Dylan.

I know .. which is why i do not believe MR brought the fishing pole that night!

A bank robbery has money stolen!
Arsenic poisoning would show up in a test but u need a body.
Strangulation leaves marks on a body but u need a body.

They need a place it occured but if the body isnt there how do u know?

I'm sorry, I can't understand this based on the quote I was responding to.

A 13 yo does not have a right to refuse to go. They can express their wishes but it's not a right. also, not wanting to go does not man that his option was kicking and screaming, you don't see kids that age throwing temper tantrums like that, perhaps pouting, but who's to sayhe didn't want to go to dads and was just angry and dealing with it vs kicking and screaming

Actually they can, not that I am talking from experience or anything

In fact she was the one that called 911 to tell them she did not want to go. I truly felt bad for the frustrated LE.

Felt worse for the CPS worker that arrived, as my daughter decided that since she had just learned about emancipation, that it was a great tool.

Imagine her surprise when my ex and I discussed that yes we did have to feed her balanced meals, but balanced meals did not include junk food.

She started to waver as we discussed further that yes we did have to provide her shelter, but we were not obligated to provide ipads, ipods, cell phones, stereos, tv etc.

She then backed off when we discussed that yes we must provide clothing but not jeans that cost 100 dollars.

Had a CPS worker laughing as she left my home, my daughter chose to go with her father, and dang it she never brought up emancipation again.

Much to our chagrin

Maybe he only has 1 as he lives alone ?

Or maybe, since he knew D was coming, he got out the pole and fixed it, prepared it somehow. I know when my kids went to visit my parents in the summer, my dad would get out their fishing poles and get the knots out of the line, and fix the reels, in preparation.

I'm not sure there ever was a fishing pole. Might have just been smoke 'n mirrors, hey look over there.

The fishing pole might be in the same category as the dirty cereal bowl, and the nerf football game on Sunday night---non-existent.

This IS all about Dylan and especially here at WS, the concern IS Dylan.

People want Dylan home. People want Dylan safe. People want answers.

LE doesn't have to give us anything if it doesn't serve the purpose. So the general public and more dedicated sleuthers like us, are left with very little. We can only look at so much, while staying within the rules, and while bringing somewhat logical ideas to the discussion.

Suggestions, discussion, theories, and comments by posters here -- especially since we're monitored by our TOS and mods -- that suggest less than rosy outcomes or negative insinuations about involved parties don't take away from anyone's passion or anyone's hope for an alive and well Dylan.

We're not operating in a utopian forum or world so and we are intelligent people who need to look at all possibilities.

I think the concerned mother has every "right" to express her concerns, if they were her legitimate fears to the WORLD about what she fears her ex-husband may have done to HER SON.
LE will conduct their investigation independent of what's said to the media, and good news organizations will continue to cover a missing child's story so long as they're missing.
Trashy organizations will continue to cover the story for the sensational aspect.
The general public might find the mother's actions and words to be inappropriate or understandable, but will continue to keep the child as priority, like most here have done.

I'm not sure if the moral of the above was to point out that 'the negative comments (many verbatim to what has been posted here) take away hope of finding the missing child, Dylan, alive are wrong. And therefore ...unacceptable?
And to join a site and participate in discussion that doesn't locate Dylan, solve his disappearance, or perpetuate a high level of hope is also wrong. And... unacceptable?

I'm pretty sure everyone's main concern is Dylan.
I'm not sure about anything else and who's infringing upon Dylan's "right" to be found and to have hope, but
I'm pretty sure the only concern is DYLAN REDWINE.

I agree this is about finding Dylan.

I as well agree that LE does not have to give us any information, but they can give us clues if we are looking for them in what they say. LE has stated much in this case compared to others I have followed/researched.

To even suggest that anyone here, thinks we can solve all the missing person cases, murders et al, is unrealistic and I believe you already know that is not what I inferring at all. I used very specific language for a very specific reason.

If my post was read carefully, I was very careful in making the distinction between what we do at websleuths. Again, I made this distinction for a reason.

Any parent has the right to express their opinions. As the parent of a missing child, I would hope that information regarding concerns be directed to LE not the general public, so that the ray of hope remains. It was keeping that hope alive, that enabled a Jaycee Dugard, Elizabeth Smart, and others to find their way home whether that took months or years.

I will reiterate my concern regarding the numerous negative comments posted by ex's/boyfriends, in the comment section of news articles that were pleading for people to be on the lookout for Dylan. Many of those comments I was able to screen capture before they were removed. I don't understand why they felt the need to join other sites like gather etc., in order to comment on those articles either. That is my opinion and I stand behind it. The general public will be less apt to look for a child/adult if they think that child/adult is dead. The tone set at the beginning and throughout is critical. It was tips that lead to the capture of a RSO/probable serial killer in the Mickey Shunick case, and which also found some justice for a case dating back to 1999 of Lisa Pate. Brandon Lavergne was responsible for both.

For me, in the Mickey Shunick case, LE stated from the outset that they were "not ruling out foul play" in the very first statement released. That hit me like a load of bricks as it told me that LE knew something we did not know. No matter how many times I brought that statement up, very few took much notice of it. Many in the beginning were focusing on Brettly, the last known person she was with, and they were wrong.

What we do at Websleuths is different, as I stated in my post. I made a distinction between those of us here and the general public. For me, the majority of the general public take their ques from what is broadcast/written. Please, once again note the distinction I made even with this sentence, as we are talking about a differnt group of individuals, and I don't want to have them put into one simple category either, as the general public consists of a variety of individuals..

There is no moral. My point was that hope generates leads/tips. People tend to be more aware of what is going on around them if they are subconsciously looking for a missing person. When hope is removed, many are less apt to report something that maybe was/is bothering them.

Or maybe, since he knew D was coming, he got out the pole and fixed it, prepared it somehow. I know when my kids went to visit my parents in the summer, my dad would get out their fishing poles and get the knots out of the line, and fix the reels, in preparation.

But, I would think he would have mentioned fishing in talking about the plans, lack of plans or possibility of plans, YKWIM lol.

Nothing to say ,, just that I'm still looking and hopeful and
I'm afraid everyone will be so wrapped up in their family
festivities that Dylans' thread will be neglected. :(
