Some people feel that Dylan wouldn't leave the house to go fishing or to see his friends carrying the backpack.

But if he decided to hitchinke, he would have taken it.

I don't know what will happen. I'm hopeful that it will be a classy piece and not a free for all on MR. Either way this will either elevate or disintegrate Dr Phil for most of us on WS anyway , right?
Do it right Dr Phil !!!!!

I agree that we need to wait and see what happens. I'm just speculating on how things are looking to me.

I've never seen anything saying Dr Phil would not do the show without MR. Does anyone have a link?

We don't have a link, but we do have an msm source that they had to postpone taping since MR couldn't make it to the first available slot.

Then I guess the billboards, fliers and all of that are just a total waste of time and effort too? Most missing persons are probably dead, so why bother huh? I get it.

What talking head gets the facts straight? What talking head is completely familiar with a case before mouthing off about it? What talking head does not relish in asking about the emotional devastation associated with the disappearance of a child?

If Dr Drew wants to make the world aware of Dylan, he should be interviewing the investigators, not the traumatized parents.

It's Dr. Phil, not Dr. Drew.

People are doubting that Dylan ever arrived at the house. People are doubting that he left voluntarily with his backpack. If the dad did something to Dylan and wanted everyone to believe that Dylan arrived safely at his house, then he should have made sure that there was some proof that Dylan arrived ... the obvious thing being that the packback should be at the house. Since it isn't at the house, it is either a very poorly thought out crime, or Dylan arrived and left, taking his backpack with him.

If MR did something, then I believe he wanted everyone to believe that Dylan just ranaway. Runaways take their backpacks with them, don't they? If he did this, he hoped LE & the world would write off Dylan as a runaway. :moo:

Thanks. Dr Drew, Dr Phil, Dr Nancy Grace ... it's all the same ... they don't know what they're talking about and rating are their only objective.

Why would the dad want his son to vanish from the face of the earth?

The funny thing is it was NOT DR PHIL who seeked out this family to exploit them and do a show on them. Many people on the FMDR page and others were contacting many different shows to try to get Dylan National exposure. People act like this is some big deal to Dr Phil and he invited them on the show for his ratings. Nonsense!
This is what I heard as this was happening. The Dr Phil show agreed to have them on after THEY were contacted. Mark didn't have time to do the show because he was too busy. The Dr Phil show only had a few slots of air time available. Mark could not do the first slot. Elaine and Cory were going to take that slot with or without Mark. Then Mark agreed to do it but not until the open slot on the 27th. Then Mark agreed to the open slot on the 20th. Then I heard it might be the 21st. Never once did I hear that Dr Phil refused to do the show without Mark!
Those that think Dr Phil's only desire for doing the show is to exploit Mark is just ridiculous IMO. WHERE IS THE LINK SAYING DR PHIL WOULD NOT DO THE SHOW WITHOUT MARK?

For those that feel the Dr Phil show is a waste of time do you also feel the billboards and fliers etc are a waste of time? Because really if Dylan is dead there's not much point to those either right? I guess that applies to almost all missing persons. Because lets face it...most of them are dead. Pointless really huh?

There's a big difference between putting a missing child's picture on a milk carton and asking parents that have suffered a personal tragedy how they really feel about it.

And ... let's not forget that Phil McGraw has a history of editing footage for the purpose of twisting the facts (eg: Holloway case).

Dr Phil is important for exposure.Period. Secondarily, ER has been publicly asking MR to talk with her about Dylan's last day in his care. I have long thought that she'll either believe some of what he says at this point or know for sure her son is dead at his hands. You don't live with someone that long without learning to detect their BS. I don't expect any evidence or miracles to come from this but I do expect the family will all have more info which is not a bad thing. Neither is 4 million plus seeing Dylan's face and hearing his story.

Excuse me. I believe Dylan's mother and that part of the family worked hard to get on the program so Dylan can get national attention.

Why would the dad want his son to vanish from the face of the earth?

If he did it, maybe he just lost control, or maybe his hatred/spite for his ex-wife is greater than his love for his son. Sadly, those things do happen. :moo:

I'm still looking at all possibilities, including that Dylan did set out on Monday morning and something happened that doesn't involve MR at all. :moo:

My gut reaction to MR however was that he is a controlling, manipulative and possibly violent man. That's what my instincts said the first time I saw him interviewed, and I've learned that following my instincts tends to be a good idea. :moo:

if I were that parent and my child were missing i would want the whole world to know how it felt.

Yep, right...Websleuths is pointless too. Shall we go play Farmville now? :moo:

ETA: Obviously we all want a resolution in missing persons cases, and would do anything to get it. While it is statistically unlikely that Dylan is still with us, sometimes those statistics are wrong. I'd hate to think he's a Shawn Hornbeck (because of the horror being endured), but if he is then everyone needs to see his face!

BBM

If Elaine and Cory could have gone on the show by themselves and gotten Dylan's face out to the millions of Dr Phil views why didn't they? Why are they waiting for Mark? Why the delay?

If people are going to criticize Mark for delaying the show, they also should criticize Elaine and Cory for doing the same thing. MOO.
