Awwww....thanks! She's precious! :grouphug:

and adding to my Miranda Warning research:

In People v. Figueroa-Ortega, State of Colorado, the lower court said the defendants incriminating statements should be kept out of court because he did not receive his Miranda warnings, but the appellate court overturned that ruling because it turns out that his statements were given during a non custodial time. He had not been arrested and he was free to leave during that questioning.

goodness, it is getting crazy in here... all the miranda back and forth...let's focus on Dylan! Where is he? Sorry but MR doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the shed, but so far, it looks like he's pulled off the perfect crime.....!

Sorry, I still don't understand why police would say something that would tend to discourage a subject from talking to them when they didn't have to. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Police usually tell subjects that anything they say can be used against them in court when they don't have to? That would tend to make people uncooperative in my opinion.

That is a problem with some in LE, they don't understand it either. Some LE will give Miranda when it isn't necessary. Let them talk to their hearts content. Until they are legally detained, they do not need to be mirandized.

It happens more with the cops on the street than with relaxed detectives. Not that one is better or worse than the other, they just have different perspectives. A street cop may jump the gun so to speak and put someone under arrest BEFORE they need to. Let 'em talk, they are right there in front of you, you know they aren't going anywhere, then arrest them.

(you and them are not reflective any particular person)

Nahhh, this case is brand new, fresh. If we are still rolling around with no body and no arrest by November, then I will believe LE has nothing...and I will never believe that MR "pulled off the perfect crime"...I will only look at it like there is something that hasn't been found. There is no statute of limitations on murder.

I agree & I think ping & pongs lol may play a big factor. But when anyone says BBM above I am reminded of Ron Cummings & Misty Croslin.

FruitTingles OH MY STARS ! Thank you for sharing. She's a little ray of light for sure !

I emailed the sheriff's office to get a copy of the latest official press release - it's dated 1-24-2013 so nothing new but at least it's the full official release and not a news version. Can I copy/paste it here?

ETA: I flagged my own post to get a mod approval.

News Release: Sheriff Office Continues Search for Dylan Redwine
Date: Thursday 1-24-12
Source: Dan Bender, LPCSO PIO Desk: 970-382-7026 benderdl@co.laplata.co.us Cell: 970-759-5549

La Plata County Sheriff’s Office and the Dylan Redwine Task Force is continuing its investigation into the disappearance of 13 year old Dylan Redwine. Dylan was reported missing by his father, Mark Redwine on November 19th, less than a day after arriving in La Plata County for a court ordered visitation.

LPCSO investigators from three different bureaus are following various tips that come in to the Task Force which consists of five local, state and federal law enforcement agencies . In the past few days, investigators have searched locations on snowshoes, under bridges, and other sites in three different areas in La Plata County and two other locations in Colorado.

LPCSO investigators and agents from the FBI met recently to develop strategies and review results of tests of evidence by CBI. Additional interviews are also being conducted locally and outside the area. In several cases, law enforcement agencies not connected to the Task Force have assisted in searches and interviews in Colorado and other states.

LPCSO Lt Ed Phippen, Task Force Leader said tips are promptly followed up on, regardless of reliability
including several from psychics and mediums. “We want to leave no stone unturned” he said.

An updated timeline for Dylan’s activities on Sunday November 18th has been released:

5:46PM Dylan arrived at Durango-La Plata airport.
7:05 PM Dylan at Durango Walmart
7:22 PM Dylan at Durango McDonalds
9:37PM Dylan’s last electronic device communication (texting)

The last person identified as having seen Dylan is his father, Mark Redwine.
Mr Redwine told investigators he saw Dylan at his Vallecito home early Monday morning, November 19th.

Rewards are offered for information related to Dylan’s whereabouts through Durango-La Plata Crime Stoppers
(970-247-1112), the FBI, and donations to a private fund. An updated Missing Person flyer was released a few days ago by Durango-La Plata Crime Stoppers. A copy is included in this news release as a separate attachment.
Anyone who may have information on Dylan’s whereabouts is asked to contact La Plata County Sheriff’s Office Investigators Dan Patterson (970-382-7015) or Tom Cowing (970-382-7045). There is a local tip line (970-382-7511) where tips can be left on an answering machine that is regularly checked by Investigators. Persons can call Durango-La Plata Crime Stoppers at 970-247-1112. Persons can also call the hotline for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE LOST (1-800-843-5678).

If it were the perfect crime nobody would be looking at him. IMO it's just a matter of time.
