Oh, I agree that she lies easily and often. I don't know what to make of her own LinkedIn page (as she doesn't list herself as a "teacher" for 2019, but as a Curriculum Specialist. Some schools classify that as "teaching" so perhaps that's why. I bet she wasn't in the classroom.

I think that she started out thinking she had cleverly covered her bases. She had made it look like Gannon had run away. I do not know when she started thinking about that particular lie.
Not only was she not a curriculum director for District 49, she never worked there at all. I can’t believe she had that listed on her resume when she applied for District 20 (no wonder they rescinded their offer!) This is a very small town. This was in the local paper the day she was arrested:

Despite Letecia Stauch’s personal information on her social media profiles saying she’s employed as a “curriculum developer” at School District 49, she does not and has never worked for the Peyton-based district, said spokesman David Nancarrow.

Personal information promoted by Letecia Stauch, arrested in death of stepson, refuted by local school district

Positions that are Mandated reporters must pass a CE class on child abuse. Its a state licensing requirement. The DA may use that to to seal up the child abuse charge. With evidence of abuse, TS has absolutely NO viable defense.

I think this depends on the state. I have friends in education. They weren't required to take an additional class.

Yes, I don't think anyone would have a viable defense, no matter what their education or experience.

I have ONLY found this one that is for sure her. If there are others, it's NOT her or it's ALIAS's. I feel for people with names similar to hers or her aliases. If I understand this?? Look at Job 2008-2010 and tell me what YOU see.

When I scrolled to the bottom, there’s a link for Leticia Lynn who is connected with AS (makes sense) but also a Hiott. LH’s husband maybe? Bless em all. It looks like she may have infiltrated every aspect of LH’s world. And then took her son.

what a web of deceit

So...it must have been another school that sent parents a notice that she worked there from March to November? I thought she was unemployed throughout 2019, but today someone posted that the school had notified parents that she did indeed work at the school (in what capacity though?) in 2019.

I agree. I’ve worked in education in various capacities for over ten years. I was initially certified to teach in the state of South Carolina. I was never once required to take any course or professional development on child abuse or reporting. I now teach preservice teachers in a college of education at a Florida university. They do not receive any training either.

I agree with this and am continuously haunted by it. Gannon's pain (both physically and emotionally) could have been eased by only hearing the voices of his parents. Even if they could not be present at the moment he was hurting, just talking with them helps (at ANY age--not to mention the tender age of 11). I have been touched forever by this sweet boy, and am heartbroken for all he endured...and for all that his family will endure from now on.
And what you explained may be reason Gannon was given a phone at such an early age. Its awful for his parents to know he was in dire need while they were so far away and out of reach. Position of trust ... another long nail into Count 1 - Murder in the first degree.

Ita.
Wonder if the perp was jealous of others who were -- at their core --better people than TS could ever be ?

YIKES

Does anyone know if Colorado mandated reporters require a CE credit in child abuse?

I wonder if she took a long term sub position for a teacher who was on maternity leave or something like that. It didn't indicate that she resigned or got fired, just that she was employed during that time.

Imo

I think Colorado is one of the ten states that has passed a law that allows or encourages child abuse training, but it is not required.

There are 21 states that currently require child abuse training and awareness. Jmo
