Double edge sword really. That part of criminal defense attorneys of course isn't attractive to the public eye. (I don't like it either)I've never once heard a criminal defense attorney show any respect for the actual victims or their families in any case. They run them down, often blame them for their own victimhood, and paint the perp like a sad, misunderstood victim themselves in some twisted creepy way. All in the hope of causing enough doubt to score a win in court.
I find all of that revolting.
Was anybody else just immediately suspicious of the stepmom, seeing how she said he stayed home "sick" on the missing person flyer. She put the word sick in quotation marks as if to subtly imply that he wasn't actually sick, maybe just a bad kid who wanted to skip school? I know just off the bat seeing that raised a red flag for me. You can see her dislike for him in that.

Murdaugh’s trial lasted 6 weeks. But I don’t get it with LS. As far as I know, she has NOT been determined to be legally insane by the state. The defense says she is, of course. Is the jury being asked to determine her sanity? I’ve not seen a case like this in my own state, where the defendant’s sanity is in question, yet they proceed to trial. Here a defendant would plead “guilty but mentally ill” and the judge would determine the sentence, typically confinement in a mental health institution.Trial 6-8 weeks long, seems really long. Is that typically how long trials like this go? Is she using a public defender? Not sure my heart can handle hearing all the details, poor little man didn’t stand a chance.
It makes sense now why she was so happy putting out that "edited version" of it.This recording of Gannon speaking is so damn heartbreaking.
For sure. Once she started “presplaining” evidence, it was over for me. The story never made sense. The posture of law enforcement never made sense.EVERYONE was suspicious of LS. We all knew.
She was with her mom in the hours before the killing, and the days and weeks following. She’s invaluable.
she seriously is the gift that just kept on giving. For sure. Once she started “presplaining” evidence, it was over for me. The story never made sense. The posture of law enforcement never made sense.
Then we had that insane back to the camera interview, where she asked for a second take (she clearly didn’t think she was emotional enough).
She’s as evil as she is stupid.
That's probably where it started - she was used to torturing/punishing Gannon with lighters and this time went to candles, then held some part of his body over the flame and realized he was going to tell on her. She knew it was only a matter of time before Gannon told his dad, despite her torture and her attempts to keep him from telling.I hate to say it but I think LS did in a rage and then gaslit him to believe the situation was just as much his fault. She probably realized pretty quickly how bad that would look when he told AS how it happened and she had to come up with a plan that also satisfied her resentment

I can see insanity being a valid defense, but not in LS case. To me, insanity means the killer thought the victim's head was a lemon and decided to squeeze it for lemonade.Murdaugh’s trial lasted 6 weeks. But I don’t get it with LS. Either she’s competent, or she’s not. The judge found her sane enough to go to trial. Her lawyer is admitting she killed Gannon.
I guess I couldn’t sit on that jury, as the NGRI just doesn’t fly with me. If she passed enough sanity checks to make it to trial, and she committed the murder, she’s guilty.

That's not even close to LS whose internet search history that showed she and AS were on the verge of breaking up and she wanted a new rich man. She was lying and conniving for weeks. Planning. Thinking she was smarter than anyone else.
Not crazy.
Evil.
I'm hoping the fact that Michael Allen specifically mentioned that we would hear from both Harley and Letecia's brother, the people who know her best and drove with her across the country, that their testimony won't be in Letecia's favour.
I hope so too. But I can see how the defense might be able to turn it to their advantage, with the right line of questioning. I hope no one describe her having "different personalities."
IMO.
