I'm very surprised that they took all the families to the high school to tell them the news first vs going to them at their residence.
Me too - the only reason I can think of is that it was still an active crime scene, so they had to make sure everyone was safe, and assess the damages before they could deal with the families and uninjured victims. But how horrible for them, IMO. I can't imagine what they all went through.
Just saying if somebody knows that my family member has died I don't want to have to drive somewhere to a high school to learn of it and then be with strangers ...not in my house with family and friends for support... and then have to drive back home.
:moo:
SMH I do not agree with that

ETA so much appreciate all the posts from others ...I am following but obviously I am not posting often because I do emotional outbursts in posting right now
We're live! One of the jurors has a son who is graduating at Ft. Bragg, NC on Friday, the 7th. He has an airline ticket for Thursday, and hopes to be able to use it or possibly get a ticket for later on Thursday. The principals are now conferring on the schedule...
Thanks..what was outcome ? Would think that they would have told the court earlier
The Judge said the same thing to the Juror, who answered that she had sent several emails to the court, but had no response. The Judge said it was too late to change the schedule at this point, but he would have scheduled accordingly if he had known in advance. He said he would check on her emails and let her know if that changed his opinion.
So, as far as we know, the Judge's answer was 'no', but I guess that could change .
I also wonder why she didn't send her note to the judge when she didn't get an email reply? Why buy a plane ticket and then ask? Odd, IMO
