CO - James Holmes Trial - *Penalty Phase*

As we noted thru the whole trial- the really shows the inexperience of the defense attys, IMO They did the same thing to GB's closing & delayed the court a half day.
They think they must object to everything in order to protect jh's rights. They fly out objections whether they apply or not! We heard how many times the judge corrected them.

Def. attys will stand up & object for their client, but use appropriate & correct objections. Knowledge.
IMO, these attys objection to everything just to see what sticks is because they just don't know how to do it.

I'm also displeased that they want their client to be referred as "Mr"---

I was all set up to watch and read...and I fell asleep. I guess the grandgirls really tired me out more then I thought, but it was worth it.

Thank you everyone for posting so I could read what I missed.

I have had the double sound on channel 7 a lot in the past. I go to another outlet, Court Chatter or Channel 2 or Trial Diaries. I cannot get rid of the double sound no matter what I try.

It is at Channel 7's end and they should fix it!

Okay, back to reading a bit more and I am now ready to stay awake and watch the trial.

I do,I do! Just like Mr King did in his closing. Maybe instead of 'this guy' they can refer to hjm as "this killer' or 'this murderer' - 'this guy' seems polite, given the circumstances.
But hey, Ms Brady put the prosecution 'on notice'! Inapproprate, to say the least, Judge was right - why not object? Is it really for her to put anyone on notice in the Judge's courtroom? IMO, MOO, JMO

I just tweeted what you said about calling the shooter "this killer" or "this murderer".

Can you imagine if GB did refer to him that way. I think his attorneys might have a meltdown!

LOL! Maybe the Orman can refer to him as "Jimmy" - see if the defense objects to that.
I wonder if defense is planning on using a powerpoint? Will they show photos of 'smiling Jimmy'? Copies of his 5th grade report card?
I haven't seen that many powerpoints in openings/closings - anyone know if it's normal for the opposing counsel to pick them apart like this?
Is Brady really saying he can talk about the victims, but it's improper for the jury to see them? Arguing that text is in black and white? He could just pull the photos and show them, but it would take lot longer, and be harder to see.

I know the jury isn't in the room, but they must be aggravated with all this waiting. I guess the defense doesn't really expect to have their witnesses today. Maybe they just plan to drag this out as long as possible. JMO
