Maybe yes maybe no!
Sometimes it easier to hide in the light of day!

Respectfully, I absolutely disagree. IMO, the backpack and body disposal were both done under the cover of darkness. It is one thing to risk taking the child in broad daylight but that was done when least expected. Once the alert was out, to dispose of a backpack, much less partial remains in full view of others who may come upon the scene as an observer just doesn't follow any case I've ever read about.

any locals going? I'll be there in spirit :(

I checked the site on Google Earth and did not think any homes overlooked the area. Plus I Googled the gentleman and found where I thought he lived and didn't think that location could actually see the spot. Maybe he could see the glow of the lights over the hills and elaborated so he could be interviewed on TV, but it is kind of odd.

Oh yes - the reason I was looking at Google Earth was to see if there are street lights at the site where the body was left. No, there are not. It would have been very dark there that night.

There's a hill on the other (south) side of Leyden road with homes on it. I think some of them probably did have a decent view of the activity. They wouldn't be able to see details, but they'd be able to see the road and the activity.

Respectfully edited.

That's interesting since the person who was on Nancy Grace via telephone last week said he could see the activity of LE from his kitchen.

Emphasis added by me.

Footwarrior, or perhaps another local poster, took a picture of the scene where the remains were found with a telescopic lens ... from the back deck of his home, I believe.

I don't think we will go. I have 4 young children. Two of them have just been terrified since this happened. One of my dd's isn't sleeping well and is crying every night. So, I'm not sure going is a good idea for my kids. It is being broadcast on tv here so I'm going to try to watch.

Does anyone think he might have left the area, took a vacation? There are many park & rides out there to the airport and vehicles are left there for sometimes long periods of time. My daughter came home for a couple of weeks and left hers.
I don't know, just an idea. LE really has their work cut out. Plus the parking lots at the airport are huge. Hell he could have took a bus even.

Your probably right Im just tossing out other options!

I think he panicked because he couldnt keep her in his home any longer the neighbors would start to complain.

I think he got rid of the body first and then the backpack and i think the backpack was a diff location because he forgot about it!
I just hope to God they catch this beast!

I just looked too, and if he's in either of those two neighborhoods I can find, his kitchen window must be really high off of the ground...

Poor babies, and you too. :(

I'm still reading every post, anxious for new news.

MOO regarding the "not intact", while it could be animals, usually this is phrases by LE as "not able to quickly identify due to exposure and scavengers" or "damage due to being left in the elements". I think to say the remains were discovered "not intact" does imply that part of the crime includes causing the body to no longer be intact.
*GRAPHIC BELOW*
That could mean missing one limb, that could mean missing all limbs, that could mean skillfully dissected. From what the helicopter footage supposedly showed, my best assumption is that not intact means cut into several large parts. -did LE say some part or parts were nit recivered? The question IMO is the not intact remains being dumped as a whole in a reasonably semi-public area. I would think a bag of not intact remains would be best hidden by being thrown in win garbage, but maybe there was fear or cameras near commercial dumpsters. But if this open space was close enough to a garbage site to require waste management clean up the blown away trash, then why not just dump there? Camera fear?

I don't think so. My husband has a school meeting Tuesday night (bet I know at least one of the topics on the agenda), and I'm really hesitant to take my kids. My oldest knows what happened, but not all the details. I don't know what she might hear while we're there.

If he didn't have the meeting I'd probably go. Her poor family.

I think I missed the announcement that they've ruled out the family, could someone please share the link. I do remember the parents being cleared, but didn't catch that they had cleared the rest of the family.

Someone asked upthread about a friend of dads, but I'm pretty sure dad has lived in KC for 9-10 years.

My DD is 2.5, and she doesn't understand. We lit a candle on our porch the night they were doing the flashlight vigil, and she pointed to the road and said "lets go find her Mama, she needs help". Now whenever she sees Jessica's picture on the television, she says "there she is!" :(

I had the feeling he left the area.Booked and ran and possibly abandoned his car somewhere? Colorado? Different state? I'm keeping my ears open for any more attempted abductions or murder in another state.I'm still thinking he was possibly from around Arvada somewhere. He's starting to sound disorganized and younger to me.20 to 30?

Wait, where are you saying there is new development? Jessica's neighborhood is not new, and neither is Rock Creek, where they found the backpack. Sorry, that part wasn't clear to me.

I didn't mean the neighborhood where she lived or where the backpack was found, I meant there's a new housing development literally just up the road and a left turn from where she was found. Part of my husbands family just moved in about a month ago and they're still constructing houses over there.
