I venture a guess that this receipt has more than just trash bags on it. ie: clean up stuff, bleach, duct tape etc...
I watch too much dexter.

I just found this article from this morning, can any local tell us where this localtion is in regards to the JR areas. I do not want to speculate to much, but could the reports from last night have caused the prep freak out and commit suicide? It just seemed like a strange place for this man to choose to kill himself; a park, next to a school, with a trail that the kids use when walking to and from school. Here is the link to the article, please let me know what is this location in relation to JR, and if this is not allowed mods please remove. TIA.

The body was found along a path at Mossbrucker Park at W. Cross Avenue and S. Xenon Street in Littleton at 6:22 a.m.

~snip~

And if we don't have enough coincidental occurences- Xenon St. intersects with W. 82nd in Arvada. Cross Avenue?? Don't get me started!!

Have the JR websleuths already hashed the possible significance of the three marks on the cross?

Yes, there were hundreds of post about the marks significance, IIRC it was thread number 13 or 14, which ever one was active right after the cross was announced. Sorry if I am not correct about the thread #. There were definately some interesting theories being floated around though.

nearly every neighborhood has an ES it seems... just a creepy place to commit suicide- however the park may have had some sort of meaning for him... who knows really.

Well, the park was named after a police officer killed in the line of duty in 1995.

The "Cross" street is intriguing, for sure ... There were a lot of similar street names up north earlier in the investigation that people were wondering about .. .Quaker, etc. Those were north-south streets, so it wasn't unusual that there were a lot of repeats, even though the locations weren't all that close. But Cross is an east-west street, you have to come down to Littleton for it.

(DId that make any sense??)

thread 15 (I think) contains lots of Websleuth discussion about the possible significance of the three hash marks on the cross. We were all hashing the cross and the markings out I believe Friday, the 19th. Whether they were religious in significance, whether they were placed there by perp, whether they indicate something other than the trinity or father son and holy ghost.

Hope that helps :)

Xenon is another one of those n-s streets that will intersect with any e-w street, though ... It does show that the suicide happened due south of the body location, as I said earlier.

Oh I totally agree. Wherever he did it, it would not be a nice site, and he would of needed that.

That article also says: "Sources say the reason police asked the public to change their focus is because when they found Ridgeway’s book bag after her disappearance, her clothes were inside. A source said only her socks were missing."

This story is infuriatingly heartbreaking. This killer WILL be caught soon. I know it.

If this guy isn't local, I would hope the motels in the area where checked out.

Yeah, no doubt. If I had potentially come face to face with a person who has abducted and committed God only knows what damage to that poor child and is suspected of other attacks on women too, I wouldn't take any chances and agree to interview even if my identity was somehow protected.

I think she was told to do the interview and was told what to say!

I think its either someone this family knows very well or the person is LONG gone. JMO and my :twocents:

Based on search-area boundaries provided by Materasso, an estimated 24 square miles have been searched, with varying levels of scrutiny, by more than 200 officers from more than 40 agencies. Search dogs and remote-controlled helicopters with video and infrared technology aided the investigation.

In an abundance of caution, anything searchers came across was documented and collected like evidence, which is part of the reason high winds that re-littered the search sites became so problematic.

By Thursday afternoon, the trash collecting in the corners of windbreak fences throughout Pattridge Park, east of a landfill, was nearly knee high.

"The environmental conditions are definitely a consideration into where, when and how searches are conducted," Materasso said. "The amount of wind was a factor."

I am loath to debate the receipts being discussed. Without knowing exactly where they were located or when, in relation to the crime scenes, it is hard for me to gauge how relevant I think they may or may not be. For now, I will simply let you good folks who are so inclined theorize about the receipts.

I am on pins and needles waiting for clarification of "inaccuracies" in reporting to be addressed by WPD

Thanks for details on where the word 'bags' (plural) came from, (FOX).

Re above: here's what came to my mind...it seems like a lot of descriptions mention a Hispanic male. How bad is racial tension in that area? Bad enough to worry about violence vs. Hispanics or anger towards immigrants?

OFF TOPIC
Ugh, I hope not. Unfortunately, it is part of the American experience for minorities that when a notable perp belongs to the same ethnic group, there is a public backlash against that minority community, especially for blacks, latinos, and native americans. It wouldn't surprise me that -if the perp turns out to be Hispanic/Latino, the conversation will shift to dissecting the culture and how it relates to the nature of the perp. I can understand this curiosity, but usually it turns out that race or culture was not to blame at all. When the perp is Caucasian, there is no big talk about how his race played a part, or general discussion of typical Caucasian american upbringings, etc, but for minorities, it is common. I think it is a subconscious way that the masses use to feel separated from the perp " it was ONE OF THEM, not ONE OF US", and it usually happens when the perp is a minority or involved in a sub-culture.
It happens the other way too, I can vouch that SOME uninformed Latinos regard caucasians as more likely to be child molestors. My kids, while taught that a bad guy can look like their daddy or anyone else, seem to remain creeped out by white guys driving vans. So it does go both ways.
My long winded point is, this perp is a horrible, disgusting person regardless of and apart from whatever race he turns out to be, and I hope that his community, be it white, Hispanic, Asian, Inuit, whatever, doesn't receive any unjust discrimination.

LMAO and Im not laughing at you I promise. There is always one piece that LE gives the public that keeps being talked about. Yes we have talked about it. No harm in giving your thoughts on them though.

While not on this site at the time Im sure gas cans were the hot topic for a bit with another case as it was on the site I was on. To this day if anyone says gas can I crack up laughing.
