<text from story,snipped>
Fox 31 Denver has also learned about two receipts discovered in an open field near where Ridgeway’s remains were placed.

Portions of Ridgeway’s remains were found on a black garbage bag, though it is unclear whether her remains were once inside. One of the two receipts had garbage bags as an item purchased on it.*

The receipts were traced to a King Soopers near W.100th and Wadsworth Blvd., just a few miles from Jessica’s home.

Employees at the store, who Fox 31 Denver is not identifying because they are not authorized to speak on the matter, tell reporter Justin Joseph police and security guards spent days going through four months of surveillance video trying to find images of the person who bought the garbage bags.

The cashier who sold the garbage bags to the person tells Fox 31 Denver she has no specific memory of either the transaction or the man. She says she was shown the two receipts by police and says the receipts were “long” and one

I'm a little behind reading...but...if they found receipts ....why would they have been in the garbage bag where he moved her body? Stores don't pack things in black garbage bags......so how would the receipts get into the bag? Did he just bring them and toss them into the field where her torso was found? This doesn't make sense to me.....unless the trash collectors lost the receipts out of bags they were carrying to pick up trash that day? I buy black garbage bags all the time......it may not have come from the perp. If those receipts did come from the perp.....how did they get there....??? This confuses me...can anyone help me out here?

I just checked the WPD twitter page, and the WPD facebook page, and there have not been any new entries since last Friday.

I hope they'll schedule something soon, to address the new info about the trash bags, etc.

Can we get a link on how this is known? I don't remember this from anything.

Fox news Denver wrote a article last night, with a lot of new information, but Westminster police said a lot of the article was inaccurate. So it sounds like they may have a press conference to clear some of it up, but without much detail...

Investigator Trevor Materasso of the Westminster Police Department said that "60 percent" of what Fox 31 reported Sunday night was "erroneous and bad information."

What do you all do with your receipts?
As for me and just about everyone I know we crumble it all into a little ball and toss it
its a tiny little ball. Most times it never makes it out of the grocery store it ends up in the trash.

Aurora has a very high hispanic population, so if one indeed was hiding out, he could probably easily blend in. However, Aurora is a hotbed of LE activity as well because of all the crime so I am not sure that would be such a smart move to hide out there if there was a manhunt in pursuit of you. Let alone try and abduct someone at Pitchers, where the police are constantly being called to. You never know the rhyme or reason though for the choices criminals make.

compare the pix. he's a dead ringer, so to speak, for the candyman.
he reminds me of John Turturo's character Jesus in the Big Lebowski. a perv, an air of being dangerous and someone you don't really wanna know everything he's into.

BBM

why would details be limited for public safety?

I've never been to Colorado, but as far as I can tell half the men in the state are Candyman lookalikes. Moreover, while undoubtedly a creep, there's been zero evidence presented that he had anything to do with Jessica. I'm not sure what bringing up that sketch again could reasonably accomplish.

Not a personal criticism, absentia, just my thoughts on that general line of inquiry.

From the start the WPD have said that official details about the case would only come thru them. It is a shame that someone leaked something and now they have to take time out of the investigation to deal with this.

So he could have used a black trash bag that already had some stuff in the bag?

If the receipts do belong to the killer, I think it reflects that he is not too smart/organized anyway. (Also, leaving DNA with two victims, not so smart.) And if he bought these bags sometime prior to Jessica's abduction, along with other groceries, he may not have known at the time what use he would make of them, and indeed used a discount card if he had one.

I agree 100%, he also left his DNA regarding not just Jessica but if the story is true on the other victim as well and the receipt just takes the cake. :great:
