I have been on a self-imposed time out. This case seems to be getting the better end of me.

Praying for Jessica and her family.

I can't imagine how difficult all of this is for you. All of these cases must hit too close to home. I don't know the specifics of your son's case, but I've gathered enough from what you've posted to learn that you have some hard-earned insight into what it's like to be the parent of a missing child.

So tonight, when I pray for Jessica and her family, I'm going to include you in my prayers, too.

Yes, I thought about her falling asleep too. I am not saying that I believe she has anything to do with Jessica's appearance. I'm not sure that I do. But I do believe that her statements expressed guilt and I think it's much beyond just not getting the phone call. She overly emphasized that she cares for Jessica, that she has a new warm bed to sleep in, explained why Jessica got herself ready, and stated at least a couple times why her cell was in the other room. I am sure that every parent analyzes their own actions and thinks, "What if I'd just done such and such?" I think certainly that's normal. To me however, this seemed to be overly the case. The falling asleep could be a logical explaination. Perhaps she easily dozed off while Jessica was independently getting ready. Who can fault her for that? The girl is 10 - not a baby - and she just got home from work. What parent hasn't done this accidently? The problem is that if she's trying to overly account for that, so that people won't judge her as a "bad mom", it can make her look like she's lying, therefore guilty and a "bad mom". Throw in a custody battle, which all the more complicates her need to prove she's a good mom......Tough situation.

BBM: I'm sorry, been working all day and still haven't watched all of the video. She said they had a new bed for her?? What happened to the old bed??

Anyone know if the Gma and aunt work? I'm betting yes on both. If so, what time do they leave to go to work....and could one of them see her off if mom did fall asleep?

I don't think that is a direct quote, I think they washed the sheets and made the bed. At least that is the impression I got. I could be wrong.

More or less. It's a tenth of a mile, probably a 2-3 minute walk.

we know roughly how long it would take her to get to the park

we know she didn't meet her friend at the park

if she left at 8.30 she should have arrived at the park no later than 8.35 (being overly generous with the timeframe)

do we know what time the friend arrived at and left the park?

I think this is the post which first pointed out the transposed numbers in the address printed in msm.

I believe the correct address is a few blocks away. how many feet that may be IDK.

Thank you, Marilyn.....that means so much to me! Blessings to you:heart:

I worked 12 hour nights and it was so different for me. When I got home in the morning I was wide awake and actually got a lot of housework done before I hit the sack. Coworker moms were the same way. Once you are used to it, it's like working any shift. Do folks who work 6am to 6pm go right to bed when they get home?

At 4:30pm when mom learned Jessica was missing she drove around the neighborhood looking for her. Was she alone? Where are gma and auntie?

I was the same way working 4 to midnight. I'd come home and need to watch Johnny Carson and place a baked potato in the oven.(no micro then ) LOL I had to wind down before getting to sleep

Do we know if the friend walked to the park or got a ride?

And if the friend had just spoken with either Jessica or Jessica's mom to confirm the friend was walking, how long did the friend wait for Jessica?

Yeah, I think I overreacted. I thought she was saying something like, we have a new bed for you when you get home. All I could think was something horrible happened in her bed before she "left."

This is just me thinking, mom gets home at 7:30 and grandma and auntie leave for work. Jessica's alarm goes off at 7:45. Possibly mom fell asleep, I'd really like an outside confirmed sighting of jessica because I've worried that mom didn't see Jessica that morning. What if she is remembering the day before? What if she came home and fell asleep? Maybe Jessica was already gone? I'd like to hear grandma and aunties getting up and leaving schedule that day.

IMO, jmo, moo

shef,

you can always send yourself to the basement!

(((shef))))

perhaps we all need to get a goods night sleep in...

I like the basement....that's a safe place to hide out in the storms. :blowkiss:

According to bing maps it is 472 from the edge of the park to their house. Give or take, I would say 500 ft to be safe, 2 minute walking distance.

If Jessica was indeed abducted that morning, it had to be quickly.....as soon as she left home. Her walk was not that far. Apparently no one saw anything out of the ordinary...and she didn't make it far enough for her walking friend/s to see her coming along.

I think that LE took the bedding for the dogs to have a scent in order to search,so the bed was freshly made for Jessica.
One of the things I picked up on from watching the interview was how much the mother kept saying that everything was ready for Jessica and how she would be safe when she came home.
Her way of saying that only at home would she be where she should be and safe....strong hint to the person that took her. IMO
I also liked how she told Jessica that she knew Jessica would be strong.
They seem to be a loving caring family.

I know! It had to be very quickly. I hope they have done a thorough search of the neighbors houses. I did a mapping of our house to compare the distance. You wouldn't even leave our property. It scary how quickly after she walked out that door that she was gone.

Does that school have any surveillance videos?

Kind of worrisome that Jessica was considered by her family as a helper.I wonder if some ploy was used by a stranger in order to make contact or get her away from her intended path.

IMO

I just went back to the street view of Jessica's address and noticed something I don't think has been posted. (It may have as I have not read every post.)

There are no sidewalks on Jessica's side of the street according to google maps of the address ending in 786. It appears sidewalks are only on one side of the street in this area which means Jessica would have to cross the street to make her way to the park.

On an OT note, ugh, it appears that parking is on both sides of the street. Oh how I wish parking was only on one side of the street, the side opposite of the sidwalk. Then there would be no obstruction to the view of pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.

I don't mean to imply that it's not a great area by the above comment. It's just something that would make me as a parent panic So many SUV's today parking alongside the sidwalk so many people would not be seen, not just kids.

From the interview: The family said LE stripped the bedding for the search dogs to use for Jessica's scent. So the aunt made up a new snug bed for when Jessica comes home. There was a bit of chatter about washing Jessica's clothing so they were clean and fresh. Mom mentioned "fresh and clean" a few times. They were cleaning up her room and putting away clothing, even though they thought Jessica would complain they were messing with her stuff. Typical 10yo, don't mess with my room.

I kinda wish they hadn't. :twocents:

They didn't say they had a new bed for her.

The family was talking about how they've washed all her bedding and picked up her clothes (and joked about how Jessica might not be so pleased about the last). Her mom talked about all the things Jessica likes to have on her bed, like her stuffed animals and her sleeping bag.

My impression was that they wanted everything to be nice and fresh and clean for when Jessica returns.

I found it really touching.

And I'm going to bed, I just couldn't resist checking in, hoping that maybe I'd have a Google Alert for Jessica with happy news.
