If she was found today, and the uncle really said she was found last night, that makes me feel kind of ...weird. Especially since LE would not clear the entire family. Is he a local, I wonder?

My heart hurts to come on and see this tonight. I am so sick and so sad for her poor parents. I can't even imagine. I hate thinking about what she might have been though
:***(

Sorry if this has already been posted but the exact address is 18515 w. 82 ave. if you google it you can use the little man to get a street view of the mine

I make it closer to 18464 w. 82 ave

Building shown in photographs is on the northern side of the road.

Might try in Google Maps (or others as well, I imagine) this address:

16901-17791 W. 82nd Ave., Arvada, CO 80007

In satellite view there are 3 buildings I can see. Two on one side of the road. I think this might be the area. Not sure which building is the one.

Same info here, what I have from google earth.

18444 west 82nd avenue

39°50'48.13"N
105°12'30.58"W

Note spelling at least for google "Pittridge Park"

Precious child.

God bless her!

I can't post specific scanner posts here but if you go to the scanner thread from appx 450pm to 515 today I think you will know she was found today. It was just hard to put together what they were saying before the announcement.

actually it probably started around 321 with a road closing.

Man I am so heartbroken to read this. My hubby and I work less than a mile from Jessica's home, and drive down Indiana all the time. We went to dinner with our 3 year old tonight at the local IHOP...on the way in, I noticed one of Jessica's fliers on the IHOP door. Hubby and I talked about her over dinner. Of course, that was BEFORE I read this terrible update. Sigh...

It sounds crazy, but have you ever been driving along somewhere and had that thought "this would be a really good place to dump a body?" Yeah...this area they're at is that area.

A few months back I took a drive up to Blackhawk (casino town up in the mountains about 45 minutes away), and on the way back, around 1 a.m., rather than take I-70, the major highway, my dumb butt decided to try to take highway 93...i turned east too early, and ended up lost and on what I am pretty sure was this same area.

All I can say is that the road I was on, that late at night, is crazy, ridiculously DARK. It seemed like there needed to be at least 10 times more street lights and all I could think about was how terribly freaked out I'd be if my car broke down while I was alone on this road at 1 a.m. Luckily, I knew the area well enough to know that I needed to just keep heading north until I found the opportunity to head further east, into civilization again. Hard to explain, but for me, a grown woman all alone, it was just way too scary for comfort.

I wonder if they were able to track the dust from the backpack to the old coal shaft. Maybe that is how they were looking there. I can only hope that the got severe radiation poisoning from all the radiation leaks at rocky flats years ago. The rocky flats wildlife preserve is nothing but the extremely dangerous land from the rocky flats plant that have had chemicals dumped, stored, and leaked there. Even the animals that live there are tested and show high levels of radiation. Perhaps that high level of radiation was on the backpack and is now slowly killing the perp.

body found in Arvada.

No connection to Jessica at this time.

Investigation continues.

630 am presser tomorrow.

No questions taken.

Why would LE have a presser, make this comment and it not be Jessica? That makes no sense. IMO

I'm watching the live feed and the body was found very close to the road (82'nd and Quaker was the address they gave)

It was only a couple hundred feet away from the abandoned mine shaft. If they wanted to hide the body, that would seem to be an ideal location.

If this is indeed Jessica (and I do believe it is, unfortunately) it fits right in with the MO of placing the backpack in the residential neighborhood. They wanted her body to be found.

Why not leave the backpack in the road close to her body? She wasn't found in the neighborhood where the backpack was found.....:waitasec:

This is not the news I wanted to come back to, but I can't say I'm surprised. The possible Maine sighting gave me some hope (and I am so glad Maine LE took it seriously even though it turned out to be mistaken) but when the backpack turned up, that was such a bad sign.

Prayers for the family. So hard.

I think I'm going to go cry now.

I think they disposed of her body and realized later they had the backpack, yet didn't want to risk going back and leaving it near her body. :twocents:

I'm not sure why, but I have felt an awful eery feeling from the beginning of this case that it was not going to end well. Maybe having spent so much time sleuthing I sort of saw the writing on the wall... I have just felt in every part of my being that Jessica was no longer with us.
This is awful to say, and I hope you all know what I mean when I say this...but in a way I hope it is her. Not because I want her to be gone from the world, not that at all...but because the not knowing where she is is too much for anyone to bear. It brings tears to my eyes to say that and I hope it is not misconstrued, I would much rather none of this ever happened and that she was alive and well...but with the circumstances surrounding this, it never looked to me like a good outcome was possible.
I am sad. I am sorry. I have been at a loss, unable to communicate my feelings on this...I want to be positive but the negative is taking over right now. I am so angry that this is something that can happen in this world.
Jessica, you are child that is loved by so many.
Ouch. This is really painful.

Actually if you go West of Sheridan it is Jefferson County for Westminster, East is Adams. Arvada and Westminster have their own City PD, and use either Adams or Jefferson County Sherrif depending on the line where the crime was committed. I've lived in Colorado for 32yrs grew up in Aurora 2 mi from the theater shooting, lived up "north" Thornton/Westminster for 15yrs. My hisband grew up in Jessica's neighborhood.

We are from Colorado. I lived and owned a home in Westminster, Adams County- just going off of memory, we moved away 3 years ago. Wasn't trying to give out false information- thanks for the clarification. (And sorry, I never had much contact with the police, other than being served for jury duty at least once every three months it seemed like!)

It was in response to a post about Arvada- YES- they are a different city and different PD, and location of body is possibly different county. I don't know which county JR was in.

Precious child.

Oh my God.... I am just heart broken! This child was pure light and goodness. What kind of monster destroys that? I hate this, and I wonder yet again, why I follow these cases and get so emotionally involved. God Bless you Jessica... I am so sorry for what happened to you. I will cry, and cry, and cry, and cry. My family will look at me again, as if I am crazy, and I will cry some more. Then.... I will follow to see that justice is done no matter what it takes. My heart hurts so bad right now.

It was left 6 miles north of the abduction site to throw police off and send them in the wrong direction.

Earlier today, someone (nurse?) posted a pic of LE gathering, etc. A SWAT-type of truck said "Adams" on it. Not sure if that tells us where she was found, but I do recall seeing that name.
