Well that (in my opinion...caveat...caveat) is weird. The sheriff of where it didn't happen, with no jurisdiction at all, is updating the family. I am curious, but suspicious of grandstanding.

Well, I look at it as Bradley County was working with Conejos County, and the FBI was involved as well, so if I were Joe's parents, I would welcome the meeting because perhaps I could garner more information, particularly because Bradley County did send a couple of their personnel to help Conejos County in their efforts concerning missing Joe Keller.

IMOO.

Maybe it is because the sheriff had sent the detectives and the update has to do with what they did or did not find.

"Sheriff Watson also dispatched two veteran BCSO investigators to the area, where they spent close to a week collecting intelligence and developing possible leads, which they turned over to Conejos County Colorado Sheriff’s officers. "

We had the same train of thought. :)

If you view the past postings of that person, you will see references as far back as 2008 that discuss being from Africa, and the aunt in CO. For example: http://www.ttora.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1440177&postcount=13
I'm inclined to believe this is in fact Joe's older brother who made the post in your link.

I feel so bad for this family.

Excellent work, GigTu! I, too, feel so terrible for this family. They all (including Joe) seem to be genuinely good people with so much class and grace.

Oh, please don't feel bad - I didn't mean for you, or anyone to, after my post. I know how concerned you are - and I, too, am obsessed with this case. I think it's human nature to bring into these discussions our personal feelings. For instance, I see my son when I look at Joe, and I see my son's beloved, loyal friends when I think about Joe's friends. I''m basically assuming, and to be honest, I don't sense I am wrong, that Joe and his friends have those same wonderful attributes I find in my child and his buddies.

My son has also taken cross-country trips with his friends as well. So I feel protective of Joe and his family and friends in a way that perhaps I should not, and I apologize if my comments hinder open conversation.

Hi Scout12, No worries whatsoever, and my sincere apologies if I sounded defensive or upset :grouphug:!

I, too, have a son (though he isn't even driving age, so obviously much younger than yours). He and his best friend are so close that it's almost as though my son spends as much time hanging out as his BF's as his own house, and his BF at ours as his own. They are on the same soccer team, practicing together all the time, and are also very competitive with each other. It appears that's the type of relationship Joe and CG have, only with a much longer history. I also work for a university and see "kids" (;)) Joe's and CG's age on a daily basis, so that may be another reason why I feel so strongly about this case.

I think we are fortunate to have a place such as WS where caring folks like you and me can come together and bounce ideas off each other. I trust that we all share one goal, and one goal only, and it is to help end this nightmare for Joe, his friends and family.

Agreed. And hearing that Joe's dad is still out walking, searching, trying to determine what happened to Joe.... heartbreaking. :(

Thank you so much, IMHO, for your kind and sweet response. :yourock:

Local teen Joe Keller's missing person case stirs debate
September 10th, 2015

Three buddies from Cleveland, Tenn. — college math whiz and gifted athlete Joe Keller, along with his pals Christian Fetzner and Collin Gwaltney — had paused on their cross-country trip to celebrate Keller's birthday at a Colorado dude ranch where his aunt and uncle live and work.

That celebration never happened. On July 23, the day before Keller turned 19, he disappeared during a run on a well-traveled ranch road.

The unexplained disappearance has pulled together officials in Colorado and Tennessee, although answers seem to be in short supply.

Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson told the Times Free Press that Fetzner and Gwaltney both volunteered to take polygraphs and easily passed. Watson said texts and voicemails on their phones showed no hint of any disputes.

Finally MSM link about their polygraphs. :)

Nights are in the high 30s/low 40s up there now. The cooler weather will gradually (as more of the various seasons open) bring more game hunters, and it's often hunters who find things.

Maybe he just did not want to live the life he was living.anymore.
I'm hoping he just took off.
Could he have saved up enough money aND this trip was his perfect escape.

This seems unlikely to me. It would mean he left to start a new life without even a shirt.

I wish that were true, because it would at least mean he was alive and well somewhere. But have you been keeping up with this case, and read about the type of young man Joe is? IMHO, he would never put his family or friends through something like this!

Shares more details that reveals a beautiful soul behind Joe's beautiful smile ...

Thanks for this link.

I have some thoughts and questions.

If there was never a list of tourists renting rooms there at Rainbow Trout Ranch,
well wouldn't the logical step would be for the family that is related to Joe that works/owns the ranch,
give a list to the Sheriff's Office of both Conejos County and Bradley County or give a list to Joe's parents?

I wouldn't think it would be against the law, in my opinion, to give that list to both sheriff's (even if the sheriffs never asked for the list). Now privacy laws, I don't know how that would be for the Ranch to give that list directly to the family, but surely they can give that list to the Sheriff's of Conejos and Bradley Counties, right??

That could help by talking with the tourists that were at the Ranch.

Sometimes waiting for someone to ask for information might not be the best time efficient solution.
Gather the list, (surely the Rainbow Trout Ranch Knows who was staying at their ranch as the ranch is a proprietor ;money was exchanged for a vacation) and give the list to the appropriate authorities.

Unless he met up with someone, and this was planned. Surely he'd have other clothes then.

It does seems heartless though, to take off, and worry your family, friends and community.

I have some thoughts and questions.

What? The sheriff of Conejos County is the investigating authority. My interest in this case was piqued because I have a friend of a friend who was staying at the ranch at the time. The deputies spoke with the guests. Many of the guests joined in the search for him that first full day Joe Keller was missing.
