Kara aspired to become a model. These aspirations, we believe, have caused Kara to fall prey to a subculture of modeling business fronts that many times involve illicit drugs and prostitution. This subculture could have exploited a teenage girl who may have lacked the life experience to see the inherent risks

It is our belief someone who has knowledge of this subculture will have information about Kara or the unidentified brunette females which is valuable to the investigation.

I think there will have been calls about who this woman is, there has to be lots of people who know of her. Where she is, is another matter...in these underworlds people can be easily hidden.

Yep, we've had other cases like that here where an older woman in the sex trade is used to lure others. :(

Reminds me of trafficking, where young ladies are brought to one country from another with a female chaperone under the impression they are going to be au pairs, work in a shop ect...but are then delivered to houses where the real reason they are there is soon made apparent. It's shocking. I know it happens all over the world but that doesnt make it any easier to understand..

Just found and caught up on Kara's thread....

It scares me to death to even think about what situation Kara has found herself. The movie "Taken" comes to mind. Oh please let this beautiful young lady be found and brought home safely!!!

I wonder if this brunette was actually in disguise when she was hanging out with Kara. The tattoo could be fake, the hair a wig, etc. That could be why she is hard to identify now. If she does in fact have something to do with Kara going missing, I would think she would wear some sort of disguise. She sure looks a lot older than Kara. Poor baby.

Great points. She could well have had a wig, hair extentions in..ang yes, you can get tatoos that are done like real ones these days but not permanent.

I just hope that people will be as concerned about finding her if something comes to light which negatively impacts people's perception of Kara as an innocent victim.

No matter what, she needs to be found and unfettered.

Hopefully someone will recognize this woman and call in a tip.

I am not sure if it has been posted yet but the brunette woman is on the website escorts in college...not sure if I am allowed to post a link...

If this is a trafficking situation, I wonder if the person of interest was once a trafficking victim also, perhaps from a different part of the country. If so, maybe her identity can be ascertained by comparing these photos with photos on the missing sites. I certainly hope Kara is found soon.

[quotePorter told ABCNews.com that there was "a strong possibility that [Nichols] was targeted" by an "organized system in place to exploit girls." He added that as an aspiring model, Nichols was travelling to Denver up to two times a day, looking for work. ][/quote]

Gosh, Kara was travelling upto 2 times aday to Denver looking for work. She didn't have a drivers lisence or car so i wonder who was taking her on these trips? Could it have been the brunette that is being sought?

Praying this is not what happened. The thought is horrifying.

Article in the Daily Mail with lots of pics

Kara Nichols vanished on October 9 on her way to work in Denver

Officers are searching for two unnamed brunettes who were among the last seen with the teen

They believe she's been targeted by crime group that exploits wanna-be models

Ms Nichols hasn't used social media or her cell phone since she disappeared, which police say is 'uncharacteristic'

This is terrifying. Poor girl was trying to work towards her dreams of modeling and these 2 brunettes and who-knows-else have used her dreams against her. "Come with us, we'll find some modeling jobs." I can imagine Kara being so excited about this and grateful to the ladies giving her the ride to Denver. But in the end, it wasn't about Kara's dreams, it was about kidnapping and abusing her in the worst way. I am freaking furious. At the people who run this group, the 2 ladies who drove her there and anyone who participates in or pays this group for "services".

It seems as if Kara would have at least taken her purse and some money, even if she wasn't planning on shopping or anything. I take my purse everywhere, even when not shopping. Her roommate said Kara was planning to go to Denver with the brunette lady and she stepped outside without her purse. So, the roommate thought she stepped out for something momentarily and would quickly step back in to grab her purse before heading to Denver. Kara never came back in for her purse. Could the brunette ladies have overpowered her and kidnapped her before she could go back in for her purse? But why would they do that? Wouldn't it just be easier to let her grab her bag and leave willingly with them? And over power her at their destination? I REALLY hope they find these brunettes and every sick person involved in this "exploitation group."

A couple of years ago -- either on Dateline, 48 Hours, A&E, Biography, or ID -- there was a story about a young woman (aspiring model) in California who met a woman who told her she could connect her with a photographer. If I recall correctly, the young woman met them for lunch (thinking lunch in a public place was safe). They put something in her drink when she went to the ladies' room, and the next thing she knew she was waking up in a house with other young women and was trafficked to NYC, where she and another young woman were watched by other women when the pimps weren't there.

The show was about her parents' search as well as her eventual escape. It was a terrifying story. The young woman was SO lucky. Somehow, despite all she went through, she was able to stay present and eventually identify a chance to run (literally) for her life.

I pray, if Kara is able, that she stay present and watch for a chance to run.

There are pictures of Kara on the web being associated with escort sites. Some appeared prior to her missing and others after she went missing. The brunette pictured is also shown on different escort ads but the other pictures in the profile are not her.

After reading about escort sites, and learning (and seeing) stuff I never wanted to know, it seems quite common for these sites to steal pictures and use them. Apparently it's called a bait and switch; you arrange for the girl in the picture to show up but a different girl comes and you still have to pay her a cancellation fee if you don't want her services.

I would be interested to know who the photographer was for the pictures being used...

That makes sense that it would be easier for the brunettes to let Kara get her purse before leaving... Unless there was a third person who drove up in a car or van and they all took off from there?

Just thinking...

I am so frustrated and confused..
