Would red pepper spread near bodies harm search dogs or only throw them off? Would a cattle, horse, dog person use, be aware or buy substances like this to use on a regular basis (for odors or other purposes)?

Like the TK case I have heard of things like pepper being spread to deter dogs picking up the smells but I am not sure of how effective it can be. My guess is it may have some effects on the dogs but is probably not a foolproof way to deter all dogs from picking up some scents some of the times.

I have also heard of perps using like Fox Urine or other varment's urine which you can readily buy at hunting stores. The perps think it can deter cadaver dogs from picking up a body scent. The urines are called "masking scents" and are typically used to mask a hunters own scent when they are trying to hunt like deer or other game.

I have personally used Fox urine before when hunting and it does work to give off a strong odor. I had a fox literally come to my deer stand when I had fox urine on. The idea was to keep deer from smelling me and I was not trying to attract a fox or hide a body. LOL :)

I mean, I could be wrong but driving 800 miles and spending a minimum of 12 hours on the road to Idaho with a smelly, rotting, bloated dead body in the back of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck (or any other vehicle he might’ve driven), and running the risk of getting pulled over, getting into a wreck, car trouble, stopping for fuel, etc sounds like a really terrible decision to me.

I agree somewhat, in that I don't think he would transport the body in his truck, BUT his truck is the one that we know has been taken. I think she might have been killed in the truck and transported in the trunk of a car. That would be much less likely to be seen. What were the temps there right after she disappeared? In any case, I think he got rid of her body soon after TG.

My theory is that KB wanted a solid family life like the one she grew up in. This woman could take care of herself. I believe Thanksgiving was disappointing to her, no family gathering, going out to a restaurant for dinner on a holiday, not getting together at his family home. It probably wasn’t the first time either. She was fed up with his noncommittal. She wasn’t going to take it anymore. She was nearing 30. Maybe she wanted another child and her relationship with PF was not going in the direction she wanted it to go. So she broke it off and he wasn’t going to have it. They say that the most dangerous time for a woman with an abusive relationship is when she decides to walk away. I believe that’s what happened here.

Police confiscate trash after Patrick Frazee, fiancé of missing Colorado mom Kelsey Berreth, spotted at a waste management facility

KRDO reports that Patrick Frazee was seen at a waste management facility in Teller County, where he lives, on Monday — along with two other men who reportedly unloaded trash from a trailer that appears to have been attached to the white pickup truck Frazee drove to the facility. According to the report, the two men arrived in separate cars, and Frazee remained in the pickup while they unloaded the trash.

I would think, no matter how stupid people may be, no way would something of significance to Kelsey, be dumped at the landfill within days of the search warrant.
It would be as if a murderer is stating "look, here is the evidence".
Perhaps LE picking up items, is to have PF wondering, to scare him.
MOO.

That's possible IMO and even likely but she would have had reason in the past to have been in the vehicle so any evidence could be argued. I want something completely inarguable so they nail the perpetrator.

It seems to be something the aunt put out:

Kelsey Berreth: Police Search Fiancé’s Ranch In Hunt For Missing Colorado Mom

"...One of Kelsey’s aunts posted in a Facebook group for truckers, describing Frazee as Kelsey’s “ex,” rather than her fiancé. (When reached by phone this week, the aunt declined to comment.)

“Our niece is missing and has been for a week,” the aunt wrote on Dec. 3. “Her phone was last pinged near Gooding Idaho. She told her ex when she dropped off their baby that she was heading to family in Washington. Please help us get the word out to the truckers in that area last week. If anyone has seen her contact the authorities immediately.”

“Our niece is missing … She broke up with her ex on Thanksgiving, he said she dropped off the baby and was heading to Soap Lake Washington to visit.”

— Kelsey Berreth’s aunt, posting on a Facebook group ..."

---

I know the VI has reportedly corrected that wrong pickup/dropoff info. to PF picked up the baby. But that still does not clarify how the aunt acquired this info. about a trip. And according to DM, the mother CB asked the aunt specifically to delete the statement about the breakup, which has been reported by the aunt and repeated by others as variously occurring the day before Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving.

I did not hear this info. about a trip from CB as you claim. If the aunt heard it from CB, because CB says PF told her this story, then this is 2nd hand 'he said/she said/she said' hearsay. I don't think it's appropriate to put words in someone else's mouth.
You’re correct. I am mistaken that CB said this. It was the Aunt and I thought I had recalled the mother saying it also. I assume it was something CB said to the Aunt, but there is no proof of that.

Tells us he has contacts in Gooding and is probably very familiar with it. Also, if you breed good pups, especially cowdogs, their friends will contact you for pups. My mom bred chihuahuas for years, but quit because of her age 15 years ago. People still call her asking if she has puppies.

Too much of a coincidence this Gooding ID I would say

Really got me thinking!

Perhaps she left her home willingly with their daughter in his truck and they ended up back at the ranch and LE know this for certain, due to her cell? Hence the search warrant. He did the unspeakable but didn't make a big mess perhaps after the baby was in bed. Maybe it was planned that they spend the night at the ranch while his mother was visiting elsewhere. After the deed is done, he puts her body outside on the ground until he can wrap it up and then put it in the truck? Next day, takes the body somewhere? That would make the dogs hit on both, wouldn't it? Someone correct me if I'm mistaken and that's not possible. Maybe that's why the ground got dug up so close to where his truck was parked. All of this could have been done while the baby slept.

That could also explain the trash that may have been stored away safely prior to anyone knowing she was even missing. Darn, he had so much time to do this, IF he did!

Only thing that nixes this for me are those cinnamon rolls left out! Was dinner supposed to be at KB's house? They go to find a tree in the afternoon and before heading back he says he needs something from the ranch? So many possibilities!

A possible scenario:
She leaves the cinnamon rolls on the table, goes to Safeway, they both arrive at her house about the same time. He says, "Let's go get the tree." She gets in the truck with K. Maybe she takes her purchases in and quickly puts stuff away, OR just leaves the bags on the kitchen counter, OR takes them with her ( so where are the things she bought? Was it a box of diapers and baby stuff she took with her?). He takes her to wherever and then the rest happens. IF this is true, she didn't have time to get ready for dinner, but that was her plan for later - come back home, maybe put the tree up, clean up, then out to a Chinese restaurant.

ETA: MOO

I wonder how many times CB spoke to PF after the initial call when she discovered KB hadn’t been seen since the 22nd. If that were me, I’d be ringing his phone off the hook with question after question since he was the last to see her. I wonder if her other family members called him also.

According to one of my own versions, KB might have been on the way to Twin Falls, or passed it. (I am not a psychic at all, just trying to understand what happened). Where is the Perrine Bridge?
I don't think they said how they knew she was at Safeway in the first place, although it's possible they did and I missed it. I wonder if they found a receipt from there when they did the welfare check.

Maybe, or checked her debit card/CC activity and Safeway was the last transaction.

Really? Were they the same dogs that were shown lunging aggressively at cattle? They did not even look like pure bred BCs to me. A little bit of an aggresive breed in that line.

BC do work both ends - head and heels. And I have no idea what dogs went to sale, but 2-3K is a pretty standard pricing. You can get into some lines that go over 10K, but average, no.

They look like pretty standard BC, aka about like any mid sized herder. BC come smooth and rough coat and a whole range of colors. Not just the fuzzy black/white that are the "model". Smooth coat is common to me as a farm dog, easier care of coat.
