In other words, more than just "I want my ex dead." I think he would've had to actually ask for help in killing her or having her killed. And maybe discussed how and when and where and money.
Yes, words demonstrating a serious intent, and your serious intent to facilitate the commission of the felony.

Last night I was very skeptical of that report and today there hasn't been one news outlet who has stated the phone has been found. So, I think Fox just got it wrong - LE doesn't have the phone yet.
MOO
Thanks - I'm hoping it's found soon and contains good clues to what happened (or at least how it traveled).

Thinking about brothers on the force and mom being an RN, he could have had her convinced that if she ever dared to leave him, that they would smear her name, falsely accuse her of abuse etc...
If she was in an abusive situation, she may have thought no one would believe her.
Why Cinnamon rolls?
The neighbor said he never stayed overnight. That sounds like something one would make for breakfast after a "spend the night party"
I wonder, was any eaten?
Did it have only his DNA on it?
(Like the pizza from the case where the family was killed. - I forget the last name)
THAT could be why they believe she was killed on Thanksgiving- none of her DNA on the buns???
Moo

This feels like a stretch to me. Cinnamon rolls could be made for any reason at any time. And if they are saying they think she died on Thanksgiving, I think they have more than cinnamon rolls pointing them that direction.

I tried to look up USDI BLM and USDA FS leases but they are not online, as far as I can tell.

However, leases are attacked to LARGE base properties - and a 35 acre ranchette is not that. So I figure PF fed his cattle/horses purchased hay and silage. Or perhaps he loaded his cattle onto someone else’s lease allotment, but there’d be records of that, which I assume LE has.

Illegal to run cattle on another’s permit. Cattle must carry permittee’s brand. Public has access to federal land leased for grazing the same as other federal lands.

Darn.
I Do believe the ping was real, and was hoping they found it.
It wouldn't surprise me if the did thpugh. They have so much already through electronic detection.

I never could find anything that stated how many head you had to have to get a lease... only that your base property would have to sustain them in the off season. My cousin & her husband send their cattle to cornstalks in the off season.

I don’t see any of that(threats etc) happening...because then why kill her? He wanted her dead, imo, after they broke up and/or to get the child.

I thought the neighbor said she thought he lived there but may have read that wrong. Were there two neighbors who spoke? Is there a link to neighbors speaking out...sorry, hate asking that.

Here is a link to an interesting recent article about the public's rabid interest in True Crime that related to your post. The article sheds light on WS and the WS community but also the popularity of True Crime in the overlapping news and entertainment medias. Media moves fast but as you say, "if it bleeds, it leads". I recently signed on to WS but have read here for over a decade. ID channel and Forensic files and the like are in my regular TV watching habits.

Is Our Love of True Crime Shows Really About Social Justice?

I think Ann Rule was the best true-crime writer (JMO), but I have always liked the genre because of learning about how murderers get caught and their psychology. My husband prefers fiction, including horror. He says true crime is scary because it's real. I say horror is scarier because it is often based on true crime but taken many steps further, and is very revealing of writers' thoughts.

You know what's really strange to me? We know so little about Kelsey as a missing person, which is unlike many other cases. LE has never told us what type phone she had, wouldn't that be important info to share? Someone noticing a random iPhone or Android with a certain cover, etc...

Others familiar with BLM resources have reported that based on SF property size, most likely not a candidate for leases. MOO
I'm still not convinced that's true. I would like to know how big his herd is.

Text messages, search history, and app data, aren’t included though.

Those are the things that will be able to shed the most light here.
If you use iMessage, iPhone to iPhone, all the texts and messages are stored.

We buy more phones than I care to admit and the only thing that isn’t stored is search history but the FBI can find that too.

What do you think?

Do you think some of the trash confiscated at the dump pointed LE back to her house, the apparent crime scene?

Or do you think a friend of PF is talking...?

Other explanations for what got the case moving?

Just curious.
Great questions BD:
I think searching the items recovered from 'dump' sent LE back to Kelsey's home to go over it with a fine tooth comb. I think what they found through their intensive re-searching gave them enough proof for the arrest warrant to be issued.

I think the initial dump also tied someone else to the crime, IDK how. I just don't believe it will end up being his mother, not saying she didn't know or suspect anything. Perhaps a less than desirable known to him through the ranch/rodeo scene.

I agree that both statements (that someone thought he lived there AND that all he did was pick up the kid) were attributed to a neighbor. Two different articles, I think.

I would think any property related to PF has been searched.
But, with all the wilderness out there, burying a body on properties owned by family, I would think is not a wise choice.:(
In the wilderness, others may have disposed of the body there, whereas on family owned property, possibly only relatives with access to these properties could do this.
MOO.
Personally, I think killing your fiancé isn’t a wise choice, so who knows what or if he was thinking!

I guess all that matters is LE surely would know if PF or possibly anyone else they are investigating would be tied to any BLM leases & would search there.
