It is unusual. At first, I thought they must just be dumping off normal trash from the farm...because surely he wouldn’t go to a local public place to dispose of anything incriminating...

But now I’m not sure.

Exactly. At first I thought it was just regular trash and he would snarl at reporters for covering his every move, including hauling trash to the dump. But....I think the visit to the dump was more than just an ordinary visit to the dump.

I'm sure he didn't even think that people at the site would call LE when they saw him.

I do enjoy little details that solve a case (sorta wanted cinnamon buns to be that detail....but a load of trash will work too).

Also makes me think that the solicitation charge is most likely related to a person or persons outside of his family.

I would agree that it’s more likely someone outside the family.

I could see a protective family member, in any criminal case, providing a false alibi. But it’s far less likely they’d be in on the act.

Seems like if a family member, it would be more of a conspiracy though perhaps not legally...rather than soliticitation, which usually involves a payment of some kind. But jmo.

In the stings they sometimes show on 48 hrs, etc...the person who is doing the hiring has to not only ask, and offer to pay, but give over the money or at least have it in hand offering it...then they are arrested. Not enough to just offer $ in exchange for a deed. May vary by state though.

The search of his property was quite extensive, judging by the amount of law enforcement personnel there, and that Olympic sized swimming pool crater they left behind.

Whatever he dumped, was almost certainly stored at another location, perhaps a friend’s house.

I'm not sure I'd say that's a great blanket assumption at all. (And I'm not sure we know if she really "baked" or did like Pillsbury or other basically 'assemble and bake' rolls)

Regardless, I know MANY, MANY women, myself included, who are more apt to bake or cook (when it's not being done for a holiday or specific occasion) because we find it a therapeutic outlet when we're NOT happy.

If you look at when I've made homemade bread, or something requiring a lot of kneading/rolling dough, and it's not because I'm wanting it for a special holiday/event, it's almost always when I'm frustrated because it's a healthy outlet to take out irritation on something that needs some physical action to actually do it correctly (knead/work the dough).

Plus, baking (in particular) can often mean then creating something to "eat your feelings" for many people, so again, typically done when someone might be depressed or down, and not necessarily happy at all.

So like I said, I'm not sure I'd take her baking cinnamon rolls as her being happy necessarily - heck it could be her tradition for a holiday morning breakfast or just what she was craving - and not even about anything pointing toward her emotional state at all.

Just IMO.

Many good points. As well as the other poster who mentioned somewhat the same reasoning. Maybe I'm easily swayed because as someone who never likes to cook and who serves "burnt offerings" more than the average chef, I can't really grasp cooking as an outlet either way.

I can see other reasons LE might charge him with solicitation too.

What if PF asked in writing via text message...?

Or what if someone reported they had been solicited AND knew HOW PF had planned to do the act...which ended up matching the evidence found at the scene?

I think it’s the same hole that we saw in the aftermath of the initial search at his property.

I’m not quite sure it’s larger than the footprint of the house, but it was a damn big hole.

The dump excursion will be what brings him down, imo. One curious thing is the fact they taped and dated her doors during the search of his property, must have found a red flag during that search. I hope and pray that LE was monitoring the activity at her house during the time she was missing.

After looking back at some of the information that was released and when I think about what was said at yesterdays press conference, I have to believe a certain amount of prior planning, whatever happened, took place. Obviously, whoever is involved didn't do a very good job. I am not sure many people have any idea what LE, especially the FBI, is able to access. Every bit of our personal data is stored somewhere. Our phones, computers, televisions, pretty much everything we touch these days, send out a 24 hour flow of our information that gets captured and stored. If someone really wants that information or when someone really needs it, with the proper knowledge and technology, those people can get it. If they do end up releasing most of the details of this case I am sure it will show a tremendous amount of data that they gathered right around the time his arrest. That might be the reason things took such a long time to do the things they did over the last couple of days. I am wondering if they knew, pretty early on, that finding certain things was going to be difficult. If so, I would think LE would be patient waiting for the data to be gathered.

One question I have been asking myself is, if the report that PF was trying to sell his cattle off shortly after the disappearance is accurate, I have been wondering if that was being done to pull together any money that was needed to make a final payment to whoever might have helped him? I was thinking that may be possible or he may have been planning to leave town. That would require money also. I have been trying to figure out if another person involved would be someone that PF knew or if he found someone from outside the area? I think that would reduce the likelihood that a body will be found in Colorado. Hire someone from another state, commit the crime, have whoever was hired to help drive the body and evidence out of the area on their way back to where they came from. I would have to believe something like that would cost quite a bit of money. I don't know, I think this case has many, many pieces to it. And, I think this very sad situation is the culmination of stuff that happened, probably soon after KB moved to be near PF.

Agreed. Seems very unlikely. The only way I could see his mom turning him in is if, originally, she thought he was innocent...but then, at some point, learned he was guilty. I don’t think his family will turn out to be career criminals or anything, so even though they harbored him as he was under suspicion, we don’t really know what she would do (morally) if she learned he was guilty.

Although unlikely, it’s feasible she could’ve feared he would harm the baby under pressure. Or she may have worried he would get killed in a confrontation with LE eventually.

Re: what was found at the dump, yes, that is highly possible. Re: a friend of PF possibly talking, LE had PF's phone so they could have checked all of his contacts and discovered that one he had been in touch with just so happened to be in ID on 11/25. Whoever that person might have been would have been questioned. IMHO.

PS I wonder if she had find my phone activated on her phone. For in case it gets stolen or lost. There is a way you can get your phone to snap pics of someone if they steal your phone,and use it ,or you can track your phone if lost.
So that could be how they at least know where it wound up.
So pings wouldn't be the way to track a phone.
Disappointing the news would report they have the phone though if they don't

Yes, one doofus, turned off his cellphone and left it at home when he killed his GF and dumped her body, he thought he had out thought technology.

In the last FIVE years, this guy had not ever gone more than 8 hours without checking his phone, EXCEPT for the day his GF disappeared! That nailed him.
