I noticed in one of the articles posted at the beginning of the thread that a neighbor had remarked that they thought PF lived at the Townhouse, as the truck was seen often coming and going. I wonder if Kelsey bought the home with the belief that they would live there together, or she intended to live there by herself with the baby.

This is the first time I've watched the video of KB's mom giving an interview.

First, she did well. Being on camera is not a natural thing for most people. The reporter did ask her some tough questions (would KB leave on her own?, how was the relationship with the fiancé?).

I do believe she was coached a little, keep it vague, brief answers. This would have been good advice.

Even the family would NOT know what LE was uncovering behind the scenes. If they were closing in on PF or what direction they were going. They would share some information but nothing that would harm the investigation. That's how investigations work and should. You keep it close.

I also don't think the mom really knew what kind of state the relationship was truly in between her daughter and PF. I still maintain most adult children do not share everything with their parents. That does not mean their relationship is tarnished in any way, these are just adults, living their lives.

There's a part of me that believes KB told her mom what she wanted to hear. Not to alarm her. It's easier to do that, especially if you live in different states. Maybe she really didn't have any Thanksgiving plans, maybe there really wasn't a plan, at that moment, for a Christmas tree.

What does stand out to me, and it could be taken several ways. When the mom thought it was unusual that her daughters hair was not done when she went to Safeway. I really do think that caught her mom off guard.

Now, was this because she really wouldn't know that her daughter would go to a store with her hair simply pulled back (to me this is completely normal)?

OR-

This really was unusual for her daughter not to be completely ready for the day. Was she under stress when she went to Safeway? I don't know.

The second, the comment on not buying a house together because of the economy. My first thought, this was KB giving her mom a reason why they can't live together at the moment, but the actual reason was because the relationship was in shambles or already over.

I have seen it a couple of places and inferred by LE which I would think means someone gave or led them to the actual phone. It will be pretty astounding but I put some weight in the local paper of the location in which it was found.

This article was published on 12/23 which weighs heavily on the timeframes of the warrants.

It's possible LE "slipped" explaining in the press conference that the phone "ended up" in Idaho. They may have only wanted to express the authenticity and accuracy of those pings. But they said it. It "ended up" there. And they had refused to clarify the statement. Doesn't a Murder One charge require much more than just evidence of a death? It's likely that they indeed have the phone and probably, incriminating evidence from the person who directed them to it. IMO

Some questions I wish I could ask LE and PF:

1)Did PF borrow or rent any earth digging equipment in the last few months. Should check w/ extended family who owns this type
equipment.

2) Did PF get KB and baby a Christmas gift last year? What was it?

3) Did PF get KB and baby a birthday present in last year? What was it?

4) On average how many hours per week did PF babysit?
How many hours per week did his momma babysit?

5) PF- how much money have you contributed towards baby's
upkeep, food, clothes, etc. in past year?

And to KB's parents. Why were you 'skeptical' of PF when you first met him?
And why did her dad call him an "Odd Duck"? What was strange about him?

I'll think of more.....

I just can't at all imagine PF coming clean and disclosing the whereabouts of KB. Just don't see it. He just comes across as too macho, need to be in charge, 1 up on everyone type of individual. It sounds like in no uncertain terms they have all the evidence they need. He is going down. And due to the fact it has been decades since the last time CO has executed someone on death row offering him no death penalty doesn't have much merit anymore here in CO.

I think the only way she will be located is if someone discovers her body, the cellphone data can provide some help, or an accomplice of PF's comes clean for a reduced sentence. But I have absolutely zero hope of him opening up and revealing the exact truth as to what actually happened. I just don't see it - it's just his personality. As always MOO

The above quote directly follows the paragraph where they mention the phone ping. Earlier in the article they say that LE decline to say what evidence has been found in ID. I think it's possible, even likely, that the writer simply made an assumption that ping = found phone.

And to complicate the matter, I do believe there's a good chance the phone has been found/recovered, but I don't think LE were trying to reveal that just yet. IMOOO...

I wondered if there was any helicopter video of the area dug up by the backhoe before it was dug up. In the youtube video by SKY9, as the search warrant is unfolding, at the 1:42 minute of the video, it looks as if there is a mound of dirt where the digging took place:

What I didn't see in this drone footage was the blue/green truck that PF was driving when he was apprehended on the laneway. I wonder where it was, or who it belongs to, PF or his mother or someone else. When he went to the dump he was driving a white pick-up hauling a trailer. Have the cadaver dogs had an opportunity to sniff them up?

I, too, wondered if PF had bought a Christmas present for KB "yet," but really I think whether or not he had means nothing. Many people wait until Black Friday (or even the last minute) to start their shopping. Unless he proves to be a "I am always done with my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving" kind of guy, then it's not useful to know the answer about this year's gift (or lack of). JMO MOO

Good Question. Clearly my thinking was flawed when I took the home purchase as a sign she was moving on with her life! Of course, it may have been for the very reason you mentioned.

Another thought. Since they didn't live together, there were two households. If PF wanted to take the baby to get a tree (for the fun experience for her), he could have done so by getting a tree for his own household, and KB didn't need to hold off on getting one for her home.

Might mean nothing, but it makes the comment by mom about the tree a bit less believable, IMO.

I think if they were still together, PF was “unofficially” living there. He likely stayed over a lot. Just didn’t legally live there.

I hear you enelram,...I have SO MANY QUESTIONS! Patience is so annoying!!

I'd love to ask right off the bat, What DID PF DO the rest of Thanksgiving day? Where was he all day, who saw him? What did he do Friday? Did he go back to work Monday? How was his demeanor?

Yes, if you look at the county assessor’s site for the address, it shows a picture of the home and it looks like disturbed dirt in that area (Which was definitely taken before KB went missing). My guess is septic location

This gave me a good laugh. Mine did, but I’m almost positive he got it about 2 days before Christmas! I know without a doubt that he didn’t buy me anything any time near Thanksgiving. And, I did the rest of the shopping, for our daughter, and for his family too.

I don’t think presents can be much of an indicator for the majority of men.

They could have meant recovering the drive/contents. The phone was probably reset to factory settings after the texts were sent.
