Legally he can refuse but why isnt he being made a suspect given he is a material witness.
Is he a material witness? Not saying he isn't. However, the Police Chief said in the press conference that Patrick was the last person to see Kelsey. But how can the Police Chief be certain of that. If law enforcement
Ok, WS elders, riddle me this. Has there been a case with a warrant resulting in a search and seizure of property and a press conference that did not result in an arrest? (US only)
Sure. There are cases right now on the Missing Forum where that is the case. Anna Maciejewska is one. Denita Hedden is another. I am sure that people can chime in with others. Neither of those cases received any kind of national attention, or even beyond the immediate media area and that is why there are probably several of those on this forum alone that people hadn't even heard of.

It doesn't mean that law enforcement doesn't have a suspect in those cases, just that prosecutors don't believe that they will prevail in court and an acquittal would be the worst outcome, and with no statute of limitations they will wait it out hoping for an opportunity.

I will admit that I got out of a lot of speeding tickets when I was a teenager once cops saw my last name. But I don't think their leniency would have extended to a situation where a possible homicide has taken place.
As an ED NP I have personally witnessed and argued with city police officers who have taken the side of their friends. These friends were later determined to be child abusers. I think a potential possibility is that PF made it appear that she was taking a trip. They bought his story until time and national media attention ensued.

What about her Pinterest page and the interesting comments on some of her pins? One of them in particular has #sober on it. Maybe that’s why some people have talked about this? @Kelsey’s Aunt
I believe Kelsey's Aunt made a request for us to not keep talking about rehab/mental health and substance abuse, so let's respect that. Sober means she does not drink. IMO

I'm surprised her mom didn't call her to ask about her Thanksgiving the next day. Maybe they weren't in the habit of talking that often. It must be normal for them or she would have been reported missing much sooner.

Is it possible even that KB’s phone(her phone, not her) text her mom to say “I’m okay, just sick. PF has baby so I can rest.” Or “I’m okay, just needed some time away. Be back in a week!” If someone .... “someone” was texting from her phone to make mom believe she was alright?.

ok.
Facts:
PF and KB had a child together.
PF and KB were engaged.
PF and KB lived in separate homes and not together.
PF and KB were together on Thanksgiving day the day KB went missing.
KB’s phone sent a text on 11/25 to her work saying she would be out on leave for a week.
KB’s mom reported her missing on 12/2.
Now after reading those facts, there are holes of time.
After reading those facts it seems PF would sit down with all LE and cooperate fully.
In MOO something is really off with PF.

And also sent a text to PF around the same time as the work one.

Phone pinged in Gooding, Idaho 11/25 at 5:13 pm.

Yes LE is moving on! Sam Kraemer on Twitter
Medina says Kelsey Berreth’s family will not speak. They are working with a victims advocate. #KelseyBerreth @KOAA.
This tells me they know a crime has been commited.
Victim advocates are professionals trained to support victims of crime. Advocates offer victims information, emotional support, and help finding resources and filling out paperwork. Sometimes, advocates go to court with victims. Advocates may also contact organizations, such as criminal justice or social service agencies, to get help or information for victims. Some advocates staff crisis hotlines, run support groups, or provide in-person counseling. Victim advocates may also be called victim service providers, victim/witness coordinators, or victim/witness specialists.

In the Nancy Cooper case (Cary, NC 2008) her body was found 2 days after she was reported missing...husband was questioned several times, house was searched early on...and it was 3 MONTHS before her husband, Brad Cooper, was arrested. (Can’t remember timing of press conferences). I think there is often a delay in arrest when more evidence is needed to make a conviction stick.
