Well this speaks for itself, as the implication is crystal clear.

There was almost certainly a middleman here. Or I should say, “middlewoman.”

Damn skippy. That's far worse than what I thought she was pleading the 5th about, that's for sure.

SF was aware of everything, and not fooling a soul MOO. Too bad she has no morals nor integrity. Thank Goddess baby K is free and SAFE now.

Seriously. So glad the B's got custody.

Jmo, I think a deal would have been involved if PF could ever provide info leading to the recovery no matter how minimal of KB's remains.

Or an allocution at minimum.

Oh oh oh KK still has other cases to testify for. Justice ain't done yet.
MOO

Well, now that we know what SF may have been in on, for sure.

Sadly for the family of Kelsey, I believe the reason that PF’s lawyers did not put on a case isn’t because he is indefensible, it is to set him up with a reason to appeal. To not call even one witness sure makes his attorneys look incompetent. I think that they will use the last minute witness and these letters as an issue for appeal too. They can argue that given the short notice they could not have them analyzed to verify that he wrote them and so they could not defend PF against them.

Nope. That's not why. They are trying their best. Making the right motions, crossing the witnesses they can. They just don't have much to work with. It's not that easy to WIN ineffective counsel appeals.

Not only authenticated handwriting but also fingerprints. The notes were written on paper so PF's finger prints would have to be on them.

I see the Judge has now added 2nd degree murder and manslaughter which is good. I've always thought 1st degree was a stretch but we'll see what the jury decides. Whatever is decided, I think there will be an appeal.

JMO

Wow. Sometimes you read something and you just wonder how someone can see the same things as you and come up with such different conclusions. It's not an attack or slamming your opinion - I just truly can't understand how you get there and it fascinates me. The only thing we agree on is the appeal - that's a no brainer for every guilty verdict I've ever seen. If the appeal is successful or not is the real question. I think PF's lawyers have worked very hard to defend him. I think the Judge has worked VERY hard (to our chagrin, at times!) to keep this case tight to prevent any issues. It's been a fascinating trial.

JMO, but it looks more like PF was naming SF as his contact on the outside. Probably figuring mommy dearest would post bond for everybody in Cell Block A. PF is used to women doing what he tells them to do.

I'm especially impressed how he was clever with the code words, outsmarting his own self by PUTTING THE CODE IN WRITING.

Kelsey didn't know it at the time, but in losing her life, she saved her baby. PF will be behind bars for life. He won't get a chance to hurt her further.

Reeling with the Berreth family -- who never could have imagined that this kind of evil exists.

I'd like to see his paternity surgically removed.

MOO

This is a true bombshell. I did not see this coming at all.

JMO
I will take a stab at answering the first part.

I think the phrase he was using with the snitch was the exact same one he already used when he called his Mom from KB's house after he killed her. Remember he made a call from KB's house right about the time he murdered KB. And lets not forget SF pleaded the 5th once before.

So I am willing to bet when he called SF from KB's house, he said "I took care of the horses" and I think they already had these code words worked out during KB's murder.

"The writer instructed the receiver to call or text “her” using a fake name to say the horses have been taken care of the elk hunt was successful."

I think this is an excellent point.

That's the first I've heard of fingerprints on the notes.
Is there a link?

Paper towels and napkins might not capture prints like regular paper.

If the kind of overkill that causes a man to slam a woman 10-15 times with a bat isn't first degree murder, I sure don't know what would qualify.

Who needs fingerprints or handwriting experts?

Who else could have written the notes, which were filled with detailed personal information, about the various witnesses, that only PF could have known?
If PF's fingerprints are not on the paper, he didn't write the notes.

The witnesses were identified in the media during the trial. Names and addresses are easily available on the Internet if one spends the time looking. The witness is a career criminal facing serious additional charges who admitted he wanted to profit from the notes and he managed to get a felony cut to a misdemeanor.

I was busy all day and didn't have a chance to see what was going on until a little bit ago. I'm all caught up now.

The jury will be coming back with a GUILTY verdict......I have no doubt what so ever!!!!!!!!

JUSTICE4KELSEY!!!!!

If PF is sending a message to SF in code, it's clear that he expected her to know what the code meant.

Who sets up an elaborate verbal code with their accused offspring to say something like 'the deed is done'?

Another one of the things we'll never get an answer about: what would SF have said if asked on the stand how she would have interpreted that coded message if it ever had been sent?

I think one potential ground for appeal might be if the defense tries to invalidate some of the evidence. Can they appeal for a retrial if they can successfully get a key piece of evidence tossed?

Why would they? Look at the mounds of evidence there is!

The defense did not even challenge if PF wrote the notes.

Ha! Some other outlets showed him no such courtesy. The cat is out of the bag.

Well, technically I believe Sam (and others) mentioned his name yesterday. I think everyone would have put two and two together, regardless. Guy is probably going to get witness protection.

I honestly thought Bentley was a cover name to begin with, guess not though.

Even the defense attorneys didn’t dispute their veracity. If they didn’t, I don’t know how the heck you are in a position to make that argument.

One does not need PF’s fingerprints to know if he wrote it or not. The handwriting was determined to be his, and the feasibility of obtaining fingerprints off of paper towels and napkins is questionable at best.

@gitana1 posted this in thread #65... :)

Defense really never sets up ineffective assistance of counsel.

They’re not overwhelmed. Defense counsel is used to losing.

I think they just don’t have much. We mostly all saw that from the beginning. They’re going to try to say the evidence isn’t there and allows for another theory. But there no evidence of that.

BBM

I love reading this just as much the second time! Yay, gitana!

BBM:

Now that they're armed with this information, I sure hope so.

Ma is a vile woman. Strike that. She's a vile creature.
We had evidence of it before now, with the way she treated KB, but this really ices it.
The fact that coded messages were supposed to be relayed to Ma says it all.

It doesn't require any mental "stretch" to realize how these hits would have been funded.

PF and Ma make Norman and Norma Bates look like June and Beaver Cleaver.

This just makes me love Dan May even more (if such a thing is possible).

DA May made sure that disgusting creature didn't step foot in that courtroom.
He ensured that Ma and PF had zero opportunity to send any coded messages or signals to one another.

Dan has been 100 septillion steps ahead of these 2 the entire way.

Dan May is Da Bomb.

JMO.

I agree with this 100%. Dan May has done an outstanding job! But I knew he would and he didn't let us down. Most importantly he didn't let Kelsey down.

Thank you GK for all you've added to this case. Your confidence that all would go well with the investigation and trial has certainly been encouraging. Not to mention your satire and wit. All are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

i could easily write on paper and not leave my fingerprints. So could he.

Letter 1 read, “You know where to find Krystal Jean Lee Kenney? Chad Lee? Michelle Stein? John Moore? Wendi Clark? They all need to disappear until at least Nov. 22 after the trial.” The letter listed out who each individual is. The writer instructed the receiver to call or text “her” using a fake name to say the horses have been taken care of the elk hunt was successful. While Sheila Frazee’s name was not on the note, her landline and cell phone were. “My life and my little girl’s life depends on you!” the letter read.

Frazee trial: Letters say Frazee asked inmate to kill witnesses
I just felt I couldn't get more stunned!
