*Waiting on positive identification, but body believed to be Kiaya found
*body found 2 miles east of where she was last seen, about a mile (?) from home
*found near a home on 128th & Jasmine Court
*NOT ruling out foul play

The search for a missing 10-year-old girl has been called off after the body of a child was found.

(...)

“We have a deceased child,” said Thornton Police Department spokesman Matt Barnes. “We are waiting for positive confirmation through the Adams County Coroner’s Office.”

Police did not say whether the body was that of Campbell.

(...)

Barnes said that a 911 call was received at 5:30 p.m. Thursday from a resident who said a child’s body was found near 128th and Jasmine Court.

Hard to say anything ...and still stay within TOS... about what I think. :(

And it sounded like a local homeowner found and called 911. Rather than being found by LE or searchers.

Beautiful Kiaya, you are so very young and we were all hoping for a different outcome.

Sending prayers of strength, love and comfort to those who love Kiaya.

Rest in Peace Kiaya.

No foul play? I mean I know the possibilities there. It's possible. But.

My thoughts as well, dear PerfectingPink.

My heart breaks when I think of the families. I just can't imagine the pain. Unbearable.

How tragic. I hope no foul play was involved and it was a terrible accident. Keeping Kiays loved ones in my thoughts.
Scary times for our kids. I find it so much worse too once the warm weather hits. Jmo.

Rest gently, Kiaya !

Something makes me feel she was vulnerable to older kids/teens.
Again I'm reminded of Nicole Lovett's case. :(
But maybe just a sad accident ?

thanks for posting the map- first thought i have , is , when walking, especially kids, would short cut through that neighborhood, instead of going around............this is going to be interesting to watch unfold. posters on denver post site, are saying they live in the area, and it didnt rain.....................

Fwiw ; and imo---- she did NOT get washed out in a storm drain because of heavy rain.
Would be interesting to know what the last person with her has to say about how she came to be separated ?
I realize we don't know if a crime occurred .
