Wow. I have read, read, and read this thread. I find it very curious that at the age of 57, silver1sb is intimidated by Pash and, therefore, can't talk about other things she knows, especially with having cancer. I agree that silver1sb does not have to answer any question about her brother. LE will not give any information about this case, as it "is an ongoing and open investigation" yet I see nothing new.

I remember when Roger went missing. A sad day indeed. It is obvious that Pash, although he could, will not give information about the assignment that is so secretive. Is there anyone that remembers this assignment that could respond about it's content?

As for the suicide references, no one can ever be 100% certain that someone isn't truly suicidal until they attempt or complete the act. Many people who have completed suicide were spoken about by others that they weren't suicidal, depressed, troubled, etc. I do not believe that Roger committed suicide. Just commented about suicide from my own experience of having a loved one complete the act.

I spoke with Lori Cumpston Harrison tonight and a lot of my ignorance about these cases was answered. What a nice and forgiving person. She answered my questions about not being able to get through to LE about any information, and gave me a much needed education about what I needed to be a smarter researcher. I have more thoughts to process about the case, and hope to post again soon.

I find it very curious that at the age of 57, silver1sb is intimidated by Pash and, therefore, can't talk about other things she knows, especially with having cancer. I find Lori Cumpston Harrison's web site to be severly out of date and not very journalistic for a journalist. I agree that silver1sb does not have to answer any question about her brother. LE will not give any information about this case, as it "is an ongoing and open investigation" yet I see nothing new.

I remember when Roger went missing. A sad day indeed. I also question Lori Cumpston Harrison's reason's for her website, other than to find some prize in the future if the right person comes along to further her journalistic interest. It is obvious that Pash, although he could, will not give information about the assignment that is so secretive, but wasn't Lori Cumpston Harrison in the same school? Is there anyone that remembers this assignment that could respond about it's content? I have a call in to her and at present am playing phone tag.

I do have more thoughts and suggestions for information that I am processing about this case. I hope to post again soon.

Why do you remember the day when Roger went missing, were you in his class or did you live in the town? Just curious...

So, do you have a theory? Do you believe that Roger may have killed himself or is it possible that JP did something?

Please read my edited version of my post. Also, the version you have does not contain everything that was in my original post earlier in the week as the moderator felt that I was too harsh about Roger's sister. I was also, ignorantly, harsh about Lori's blog. I edited my last post for I have since spoken with Lori about her blog and the case. I am definitely much more wide-eyed at this point and much more frustrated with LE.

I do not think Roger killed himself and never have. I remember this case because when he went missing a friend told me about it and I just couldn't believe that someone (our age), just disappears from a small town like that and is not found within a few days. I thought back then that he had run away and would show up after a few days with friends. As I guess you know, there wasn't a lot of coverage here in the Denver metro area about it at the time, and not very much over the years. There was just something that always stuck with me on this.

I have tried to contact LE about new information and get nowhere. Apparantly this is not uncommon. I shared my frustration with Lori that you think LE would welcome other people's inquiries and information since their case seems to be stuck in neutral. What a brick wall of thought that is.

My theory at this point, IMHO, is that there are several - more than a handful - of people that know EXACTLY what happened, and miraculously have been able to keep tight-lipped about it. I am surprised that I can find nothing about Pash in the searches I have done that implicate him in anything else. I also have limited avenues to reasearch, but cannot find him on any registry, court dockets, etc.

I wonder, and probably should have asked Lori this, were any of the other teachers or admin suspicious of Pash at the time? AAAAAHHHHHHHH I am so frustrated.

More later. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!:waitasec::waitasec:

IMO - if you do have any information, Let Lori know.

Hmmm, so you have new information?

I remember one night having a very strange dream or vision. Now, I do not follow psychics and they go against my beliefs. However, it all fell in to place. The entire post JP had written, I think it has been over a year ago now, just fell into place in my mind and I just...I don't want to say KNEW but at that minute, I strongly felt that JP was involved and the entire situation here on WS with him writing that long, rambling defensive post made sence.

People have gone years and years without being caught for a crime, sometimes their entire lives. Sometimes, people make bad choices and in the heat of the moment... things happen. Killers are normal people, they are people who usually have poor self control but just because they killed once doesn't mean they will kill again. I know it sounds strange but I have seen different TV shows where they caught a killer living with his wife and kids as a "normal guy" decades later.

Why anyone would keep this a secret, I don't know.

What makes you think people know what happened and aren't saying anything?

I got a chance to read your initial post that got deleted, along with Silver1's after that. What you should also know is that many other posts were deleted, some of JP's that were to put it mildly,... interesting. I do not doubt for a minute that silver1sb is who she says she is... so let's put that one to bed once and for all. I do not blame her for not posting and commenting on WS as much as many would like, as some people can be just plain rude and invasive. This is her brother. She has the right to answer what she feels is appropriate.

Doing some "sleuthing", I found a John M Pash VS The State of Ohio in a domestic battery case in 2009... This particular John M Pash threatened his girlfriend that he would kill her.

Anyone know JP's middle initial? Could just be someone with the same name. I feel a little... icky drudging up someone's personal stuff.

I agree anyone has the right to answer what they want. After I spoke with Lori, I came away with a much clearer picture. I will give LE another call in a few weeks to see what is going on again. I suppose it will be the same answer as before. I wish they could compell Pash to speak, but, alas, that is not our system. How have you, as ROger's brother, handled this all these years? Does LE ever contact you? Thank you for your post.

My conversation with Lori makes me feel there are people who know what happened and aren't saying. IMO, people stay mum because of fear of being caught, or fear of retaliation.

Are LE still investigating Roger's disappearance? I didnt want to scroll thru everything, but his thread has a lot of activity on it....considering how old it is.

I've just re-read the thread. Almost two years after it was started, I feel I have little idea about who Roger Ellison was.

Along the way, at least five WS members have indicated special knowledge of at least some aspect of the case. As well, others have asked many pertinent questions.

It's extremely difficult to conceive of theories - to sleuth, in other words - if one doesn't know much about the victim. Blind alleys abound.

Below, I've sifted through earlier questions, selecting only ones involving Roger himself. Answers to these questions would aid discussion, and discussion could lead to resolution.

* What sort of crowd did Roger run with, or was he a loner?
* Was he popular with his classmates?
* Did he have a girlfriend?
* Did Roger have issues regarding his sexual orientation?
* Were there changes in Roger's appearance before he went missing?
* What was the topic of the assignment Roger took to his teacher's house?
* What were his interests other than skiing?
* What might have been his major in college?
* Did his evidently good grades drop in the time just prior to his disappearance?
* Was he troubled in any way regarding his competitive skiing?
* Did his alleged injury lead to depression?
* Was Roger a religious person? Did he attend church services?
* Did he experiment with drugs or use alcohol?
* Did he ever have run-ins with authority?
* Was he ever known to hitchhike?
* Was he in correspondence with acquaintences living away from his hometown?
* If he had problems, would he tend to seek out others his age, or seek out adults?

Danaya, sorry, but that's the wrong guy. The one who taught Roger is still teaching out in CA, and his middle initial is C. Also, I believe both his kids have graduated from high school now, and he had custody of them.

silver1sb, I will not forget about Roger, and am still on board too. Really just don't know where to go from here. I'm sure we all wish we could be of more help. Any word on the remodeling of the old high school?

Thanks!!

Without a body, it is hard to do much of anything. Why didn't the police dig under Pash's old house to see what those anomalities are? Why won't the police grill Roger's old wrestling team mates and Pash some more?

Justthinkin, btw, how do you know Pash was teaching in California?

Benettras, does Lori have a pretty good idea of what she think happened to Roger?

I agree as well. I also think this thread should be kept as is. Moving it would draw less interest in his case. One thing about Roger's case I wondered about, and maybe his sister can answer this, was the FBI ever involved, called in, or anything like that? Considering Roger was technically a minor, (17 and under) it may bring some new investigative avenues.

Just curious kevmob77, why ask your sister questions about FBI being called in if she is your sister? Wouldn't you already know this? :waitasec:

The questions on this board are the same questions that the residents of Cedaredge have been asking for years.

Peridot1, I am the journalist that Boyz_Mum referred to as looking into the story. I would be very interested in talking with you about what you remember. Check out my blog at http://findrogerellison.wordpress.com/ and click on the Contact link to send me an email.

I am interested in solving this case as well - 28 years is a long time to wait for justice.

coldcase1

Coldcase1,

when we spoke by phone on Thursday, I asked you if you had a class with John Pash, and you stated that you didn't remember because it was so long ago. I am cunfused by this, since the school was so small, that you wouldn't remember this since Pash was someone that rumors started about early on. Please clarify if you can.

Additionally, I am interested in who the LE officers were at the time of the case, and if any are still there. There has been speculation that LE was somehow involved in some cover up, and I feel this could also lead to people's reluctance to come forward. Can people go to the states atty or state police if they feel there is something afoul in the jurisdiction handing the case?

Justthinkin, btw, how do you know Pash was teaching in California?

Benettras, does Lori have a pretty good idea of what she think happened to Roger?

Danaya, Lori has theories, as do the rest of us. Until people come forward, and there are more than a handful who can, the case will stall. Until people who have posted here, for example, stop dangling carrots, and provide the whole salad, we will never be full and Roger will receive no justice. :furious:

You misread his post. Kevmob has never claimed to be Roger's brother, read back and you will see that he is not Roger's brother or even related.

Care to share your theory?

I see, it can be read either way.

how so??? I'm missing something...can you please quote what it is that 'can be read either way'? I never had that impression ever.

And if you have a theory, please share it--there have been enough carrots dangling around here. After all, this is a place to 'air & share' so to speak, is it not? I'm not having a go at you--just requesting clarificaton, please.

When you write "This is her brother." There are two ways to interpret that. Also, I did share several theories, which were deleted by the moderator, so go ask her. Clarified?

Also, read other posts where I am asking questions to coldcase1 and sharing comments with Danaya (who has some really good insight), you seem to be hung up on one statement and wanting to spar instead of searching for information. coldcase1 is Lori and I have spoken with her. Have you? 'air & share' only seems to apply to certain people.
