I do too. I don't think he suddenly "snapped". I might have bought that before. Not now.

As others have suggested, I think the delayed flight threw his plans and he didn't have the time he thought he would to dispose of the bodies and stage the house the way he wanted.

Despite this he remained remarkably composed as cops and dogs ran all over his house and the media shoved lights and cameras into his face.

Imagine that. Knowing exactly what carnage just occurred in the house and just standing there, allowing your face to be in close up on a camera for the nation to see, and keeping that straight of a poker face.

Holy ship.

I’m surprised he didn’t go on Twitter or something and blast the airline for her late flight. I’m sure on some level he holds them responsible for being caught.

Haven’t seen this mentioned except at CrimeOnline (Neighbor says Chris Watts “cared more about the dog” than pregnant wife and 2 toddlers he allegedly killed)

I’m not sure if it’s considered MSM, so if not, please remove!

““It was like he was being punished or hurt or something,” the neighbor said. He was just howling. Because we had a dog, I said, ‘What the hell is that all about? So we called the police and asked them to check on the dog. And it turned out that he was OK. They did a wellness check on the dog.””

Does that mean that police were called to the Watts home on two separate occasions that day?

Theory: Maybe if the dog wellness call happened first. Then when NU/A called for ANOTHER wellness check for a pregnant woman and kids to the same address, police knew there was something really wrong.

Thoughts? It’s the only place I’ve seen this reported, so who knows...
Poor doggie probably knew what happened. :( :( :(

Well we know now that he didn't confess to killing his daughters. So the reports were inaccurate.

Oh. I only recall hearing that he confessed and told where the bodies were. It didn’t specify WHAT he confessed to. So in the way they were accurate, although misleading.

Didn't she contact CW first who didn't appear bothered and tried to explain it away as her being on a play date but couldn't say where or with who. She knew something was not right, perhaps for a whole host of reasons that have not yet been made public, but she absolutely knew. She was clearly a convincing caller to LE as they acted on whatever information she gave them. At the end of the day she was right - CW had killed her friend.
LE came right away and requested a 2nd officer almost immediately. And wasn't FBI contacted by day 2?
They knew instantly what had happened and moved quickly. Everyone working this case has been phenomenal.

Moo

Glad you keep posting these Pommy.
Noticing new things each showing

Did you see hear really stumble. Before 1 minute mark when interviewer asks - wtte "when did you know they'd gone/vanished chris?"
CW :" Yesterd....err err."

stumbling over recall of his script

Yes, and when you watch all three of them back-to-back, it's even more obvious that he has practiced his story tale. I have been meaning to watch his prepared speech (the one for the communications course) again and compare it to these.

How is Shanann the one living in denial or in the middle of fantasy and reality when they were both being sued? You keep saying that you're not bashing her, but it sure sounds like it to me.

If they were wayyyyy in debt and about to lose it all, based on everythung we know about her online it would appear she was in denial. IMO

Does anyone know if a trial like the one CW is likely to face requires a unanimous jury decision to convict/not convict? I've learned not to say "acquit", I don't think the jury does that, either convicts or not. But does it have to be unanimous?

I could be wrong, but I think her choice of employment, and what she thought it would bring her was fantasyland. She needed a more stable job with a better future is what I’m trying to say. And I know she was pregnant, so she couldn’t at that time, I’m talking long term future had she not been murdered.

“Family Annihilators”: Understanding What Drives Fathers to Kill | TIME.com
The picture that emerged shows that men who kill their families were most likely to commit their crimes on Sundays and in August, times when children are typically out of school. The most common method was stabbing; the second was carbon monoxide poisoning. More than half of the men were in their 30s and more than 80% committed or tried to commit suicide after killing their children. While previous research found that “annihilators” are often characterized by failure, most of the men in the current sample were employed — and had jobs ranging from surgeon to librarian to taxi driver.

Yardley and her team deduced a primary motive for each father’s actions; among the immediate answers to why they did what they did, family breakup was the most common, ahead of financial difficulties and “honor killings,” in which “the father was reported to have felt shamed by the actions of his family.” The most unifying feature among the 59 killers was a perceived threat to their masculinity and a desire to exert power or control. “The family is in a very precarious position,” Yardley says. “Should ‘the family’ as he knows it change due to internal or external factors, this has serious implications for his sense of self.”
I do believe their financial situation would make him feel like less of a man, this does make sense.

So it looks like they pd $400,000 for this house CW has loan in his name alone but both names on title. So some equity IMO to borrow some if you look at assessment but not a lot. You can scroll on tabs for different info and assess value

Oh, I agree. But it's another example of him contradicting himself from the start. I think he was going to say they had an emotional conversation and he thinks he left her, but then he got caught and came up with the "I only saw her real quick" cover story. Oops.

Everything was falling apart right in front his eyes while he was giving that interview.

c. 6.13
did you notice that when the interviewer asks - did you see her get in at 2am
he immediately replies" no"then checks himself fast and says "yes ,I saw her when she got in but it was really quick just because it was 2am in the morning..I saw the kids in the monitors before I left ."

hence imo him previously pretending to be asleep when she returns, strangling in her sleep later.

You so & so!!! You're cheating!!! I'm leaving!!! No you get out!!! I can't stand you!!! Why were you late!!!
hey wait, it's 2 am. Oh Yeah, ok good night.
( My favorite is when I asked my man “Where weeere you all night?!” He said “Where were yooooou!?” (I was here you idiot). This was when I learned the classic defensive tactic of deflection, answering a question with a question. I recently saw David Marshburn who got EG to reveal Lucas’ location said the same thing, that answering a question with a question is one of these tactics of those who are being dishonest.)

I think so too. I don't think the MLM lifestyle is sustainable long-term for many people.

Would you go to the freezer every night for five weeks and pull out a frozen ziplock bag of God knows what and eat it? I wouldn’t. I’d want some fresh vegetables! And I hope I’m not coming across like I’m bashing Shanann because I’m not. I love her.

I don't think you are trying to bash her, BUT, honestly would LOVE to have someone care that much. To have that many weeks worth of meals ready. Especially after working all day. WOW! That took a lot of effort and time. Shanann must've really cared about him.

"I saw her when she got in, but it was really quick, just because it was 2 a.m."

Chris said he woke up around 5:00 AM and began talking to Shanann about marital separation and informed her he wanted to initiate the separation.

AND

At approximately 4:00 AM he informed Shanann he wanted to go through with a separation and they were both upset and crying.
