He made have told people if they asked where the girls were while he was bar-b-queing - that they are inside asleep since they went to bed at 6:30.
I believe it has been shown that the girls typically went to bed at 6:30 pm. If this is accurate, it has been a while since we had children at that age but does 6:30 pm seem early to anyone? Again, just wanting other's thoughts and not projecting here.

A reason that I think that it would matter if he brought his affair to the home may be that it would reflect the respect that he had, or lack there of really, for his wife, his children's home and family space, and marital bed. JMO

Agree but men having affairs don’t respect the family space. Women take it very personally but men don’t see it that way when they bring women into the family home or even their marital bed. Speaking from a lot of personal experience

Sorry if these have already been posted (very behind on here), but new motions and responses are now available online:

Colorado Judicial Branch

People here are not going to be happy...

"The deceased victims in the instant case, Shanann Watts, Bella Watts and Celeste Watts were murdered and their bodies moved from the initial crime scene. There is a great deal of interest surrounding this case and at this time, the cause of the deaths has not been made public. Consequently, the observations and findings contained in the coroner’s autopsy re-port will be critical evidence at trial. The disclosure of this information to the public prior to trial could result in tainting witnesses that have not yet been interviewed and impacting future jurors. "

Does anyone put any stock into the theory that on CW's watch, something accidental happened to one of the girls, which threw CW into a tailspin of panic and shock?

I have pondered the theory that something happened to one of the children during the evening on Sunday that was accidental, and CWs shame & fear of how Shannan would react led him to make some very bad , very wrong decisions. I don't think he ever got into a panic, tho. Not until he saw NUA on his front porch. Then, he panicked.

Not to me. My youngest daughter would have gone to bed before then if I didn't amuse her just to get a bit of time to pass.
She was very early riser and she, at 46 years old is still quite early to bed and gets up early.

I have a toddler. He doesn’t go to bed that early, but we do start the bedtime routine around 6:45 every night. He goes to bed around 7:30. It’s possible that that’s the time they started their bedtime routine and that the girls were in bed for 7pm. I know some other kids who go to bed around 6:45, so it’s definitely possible.

I would like to know how one would explain the defense is claiming the fingerprint , DNA,and palm print is unreasonable? Why wouldnt they want to eliminate him as a suspect for the murder of the children? Maybe I just can't see it because I think he is guilty. Maybe someone who believes SW killed the children have some ideas? I don't get it. One of the lawyers?

The defense attorneys first goal is to protect his Constitutional rights, they know the goal of any evidence collection by the prosecution is so it to be used against him at trial. The prosecution certainly isn't working tirelessly to prove his innocence. The defense would rather have exculpatory evidence themselves to present than allow the prosecution to have it first and find a way to explain it.

I am certain they will lose and a judge will issue a search warrant though.

The burning of a body in a funeral pyre is an act of cleansing and purifying with fire, just like cremation in certain cultures.
(In India, burning the dead body and floating it down the Ganges river is honoring and purifying the dead as they go onto the next life.)

I don't know of any religions that condone murdering toddlers in cold blood and dumping their bodies into highly toxic chemicals to get rid of evidence, and burying their mother's strangled, 15 week pregnant corpse in a shallow grave to be retrieved and hidden when the coast was clear.

That would be taboo in any culture. MOO.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tibettravel.org/tibetan-local-customs/tibetan-funeral.html

Sky burials are common in Tibet. These would not be culturally acceptable to most in the western world. I have friends from the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana that have attended a burial.

It’s all about INTENT. And yep your last paragraph? I think any culture would find this reprehensible.

Nice post!

Nope, my 2 year old goes to bed then. I believe her kids woke up super early too. At least in my case, my 2 year old is so active and just wears herself out. I’ve tried keeping her up later but she just wants to go up to her room and sleep. Some kids really like their sleep. SW seemed to be someone who stuck by a routine too. I’m guessing she used the nighttime to work and talk to her team as well.

( @Gardener1850 , making a note to respond to your question re: my post about the possible time or lack thereof in between the MURDERS. Of an innocent woman and her 3 children. In case anyone needs to be reminded. )

I had forgotten all about that, Mags. Look forward to seeing your post when you get a chance.

What an unfortunate thing to know from experience... I guess I always thought of those kinda guys hiding out in hotels and keeping it from home.

That leads me to think he maybe felt he had a hotel of sorts in the home with Shanann away in NC. And if he was leading his affair to believe he was separated, he would almost have had to have her in "his" house to perpetuate his narrative. IMO

The judge likely denied both parties' motions because he evaluated the probative value of swabbing the girls' necks for parental prints, against the prejudice this evidence could pose to either parent. In this case, either parent's prints could be on one or both girls' necks, as well as on other parts of their bodies. This would only prove that one or both parents touched the girls' necks, or bodies, in the areas swabbed, unless there are bruises ripe for fingerprint/palm print analysis. So, there is little probative value in this evidence, but the possibility of great prejudice to the parent whose prints might incidentally be on the girls' necks.
The prosecution has asked to have the autopsy sealed. Does that mean they’ve seen it? If they’ve seen it and then asked for palm prints, etc I’m encouraged there may be forensic evidence on the bodies even after the oil dumping.

iirc, the defense motion for the DNA said that they had reason to believe the ME wasn't going to collect the DNA from the girls' throats and the request was to allow the defense expert to collect it or to at least observe it. JMO

Why would the defense think that? I do recognize you probably don’t know the answer to that... but how odd to think that an ME would not collect DNA from the throat and neck in a suspected strangulation.

I agree, I find this encouraging. I hate using that word in any way about this case, but maybe it's sign of hope Shanann, Bella, CeCe, and Nico will have justice.

Has this interview been shared? First I’ve seen of it so apologize if it has already been shared. And please let me know if I’m not allowed to share since it’s youtube. This is what real emotion is.
I greatly feel for that couple. I recognize that orange top that the lady was wearing as one SW wore previously ~ it is a Lularoe piece (I have some myself). It was mentioned previously in threads that perhaps SW gave it to her friend and I think the friend wore it at that point in time because she knew it belonged to SW previously and wanted to feel something close to her that belonged to SW. JMO

SW is pregnant and probably exhausted. She's 15 weeks along and tired after flights/delays and all she wants to do is kiss her girls and tuck them in, shower, then get to bed as she has a busy day ahead. I'm sure CW saw SW on the baby monitor kissing the girls and tucking in the covers *if* they were alive at that time and not already murdered. He may have seen SW tend to the girls on the baby monitor many times before. That's where he may have gotten the idea to say she was strangling them. I doubt SW wanted to have an "emotional" conversation at 4-5am either.

Not sure if I expressed myself incorrectly, but I was saying that I don't think SW would want an "emotional" conversation as it was so late. If CW killed the toddler's first then he would certainly be lying in wait to pounce on SW when she came home.
Sorry I misunderstood.

I don't believe there will be a shred of evidence of premeditation in the murders of the children. The love both parents expressed for the children in those videos was genuine. JMO

Also, if CW told SW at what, 4am to 5am that he wanted a separation, and he left just after 5.30am ... if she wanted to kill the girls and get the job done, why not wait until 5.30 when he's gone to work, when the feeling of anger is turning more to abandonment and he's not there to stop her, and add in a possible punishment aspect that he'd suffer when he'd come home from a hard day's work to find his children dead?

Okay, heat-of-the-moment 'passion' doesn't always have logic, but there are often patterns in it. And I don't see how the things we know match to SW having any part in the murders that night.

I would think a woman scorned scenario would more likely have SW attacking CW, and either getting the locks changed while he's at work or leaving to go to a friend's or a flight back to NC.

EXACTLY. But his story is BS so...

LE knows and has evidence proving he murdered them all. That’s why he is charged as he is charged.

Absolutely. I always had a niggling fear my ex could kill me. I considered it a possibility, but I also didn’t REALLY think it would happen. But I still told friends that if something happened, and if it looks like a suicide, it’s not and he killed me.

Even with that underlying anxiety that it “could” happen, I didn’t pack up my house and my kids lives and move away to somewhere where he couldn’t find me. The fear was still real though.

I can definitely see a conversation where she might have said something like “come looking for me if you don’t hear from me!” and even laughing. But you rationalize it away, you’re just being silly, and calling the police would have been very dramatic based on probably not a whole lot. Hindsight is everything! But she didn’t have hindsight.

This is true, it's hard to believe a partner who once professed to love you would do the unthinkable.

Sometimes there are hints of something brewing but not necessarily BIG red flags, let's say the partner always talked about their work day and suddenly it's off limits, you're given a hostile response when only asking (this could be put down to tiredness at the time).

Pronouns change when referring to property or children in a relatively minor/trivial disagreement, 'this is MY house or MY children!' (Okaaaay, where did that come from?)

When there's a constant chill in the air remarks like, 'If I'm going down, I'm taking everybody with me!', take on a different meaning when once it would be considered joking.

These little things start to mount up and play on the mind, cause an easiness, it could just be the beginning of the end of a relationship and all ends well or, something much darker is brewing, no one can read the other's mind, unfortunately. :/

There's the gut feeling too one shouldn't shrug off. JMO
